Jean Critchelow
1930-2004

Jean Critchelow, age 73, of McDaniels, died on Thursday, March 4, 2004 at her residence.

She was born April 14, 1930 in Breckinridge County as the daughter of James and Mary O'Reilly O'Donoghue.

She was retired from Eleanor Beard Studio, and was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church.

She is survived by her husband, Charles; two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Donnie Hinton of Brentwood, Tenn., and Dian and Tim Heavrin of Lewisport, Ky.; two sons and daughters-in-law, Ort and Barbara Critchelow of Hardinsburg, Ky., and Bobby Joe and Debbie Critchelow of McDaniels, Ky.; three sisters, Agnes Elder of Hawesville, Ky., Martha Whitfill and LaVon Varley, both of Louisville; and one brother, Earl O'Donoghue of Westview, Ky. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held on Monday, March 8, 2004 at St. Anthony Catholic Church with Fr. Ken Mikulcik officiating.

Burial was in the St. Anthony Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Breckinridge Co. Relay for Life.

Elza Mudd

Elza Mudd, age 87, of Caneyville, died on Wednesday, March 10, 2004 at the Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center in Leitchfield after a lengthy illness.

He was born August 12, 1916 in Grayson County as the son of Riley and Nealie Elder Mudd. He was a farmer, a retired school bus driver, and caretaker of the Wilson Cemetery, an army veteran of World War II and was ordained a deacon on June 3, 1951, and became a member of the Pleasant Union Baptist Church on October 19, 1949.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Mary M. Mudd; a son and daughter-in-law, Clarence and Brenda Mudd of Louisville, Ky.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Clara and Richard Croghan and Regenia and James Hayes, all of Caneyville; one brother, Joe R. Mudd of Millwood; and three sisters, Laura V. Mudd, Ruby McCrady, and Ella Raymer, all of Caneyville. Also surviving are six grandchildren, Melissa Hohimer, Kevin Croghan, Denise Kinsey, Darren Mudd, Lauretta Lashley and Tony Hayes; two step-grandsons, Ronnie and Donnie Hayes; four great-grandchildren, Mary Jessica and Tyler Mudd, and Isaac and Lindzey Hohimer.

Funeral services were held on Sunday, March 14, 2004 at the Pleasant Union United Baptist Church under the direction of the Dermitt Funeral Home in Caneyville with Bro. Cecil Williams officiating.

Burial was in the Wilson Cemetery.

Larry Marshall Robinson

Larry Marshall Robinson, age 50, of Brownsville, formerly of Breckinridge County, died Tuesday, March 16, 2004 at his residence.

He was born April 9, 1953 to Hubert and Francis Robinson in Breckinridge County. Mr. Robinson was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Kosair Shriners, Sons of American Legion, and Order of the Eastern Star.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara Walls Robinson.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Ann Robinson of Brownsville, Ky.; one daughter, Patricia Ann Sanders of Irvington, Ky.; one son, Charles Edward Robinson of McDaniels, Ky.; two brothers, Jay Robinson of Hardinsburg, Ky. and Benny Robinson of Florida; and one sister, Betty Robinson of Hardinsburg. Also surviving are three grandchildren.

A Masonic service was held on Thursday, March 18, 2004 at Watson & Hunt Funeral Home.

Funeral services were held on Friday, March 19, 2004 at the Watson & Hunt Funeral Chapel in Leitchfield.

Burial was in the Holly Cemetery with Bro. Gerald Elliott officiating.

Opal Talmadge Meredith
1924-2004

Opal Talmadge Meredith, 79, of Leitchfield died Friday, Feb. 21, 2004 at Grayson Manor Nursing Home.

She was a housewife and was a member of the Leitchfield First Baptist Church and the Leitchfield Order of the Eastern Star. She was born on Sept. 25, 1924, in Big Clifty, the daughter of Robert and Lena Higdon McGrew.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kermit Meredith, an infant son, Robert Harold Meredith, her brother, Edgar McGrew and two sisters, Helen Basham and Juanita Beasley.

She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Charlotte and Jimmy Gower of Leitchfield and Debbie and Ralph Downey of Gallatin, Tenn.; one son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Karen Meredith of Leitchfield; three grandchildren, Jayme Gower of Lexington and Chad and Bryce Meredith, both of Leitchfield; one sister, Yvonne Whobrey of Leitchfield.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2004 at Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. Reverend Musial Pearson will be officiating. Burial will be in the McGrew cemetery.

Friends may call at Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield after 4 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 24.

Sharon G. England
1965-2004

Sharon G. England, age 38, of Welches Creek, Ky., died on Monday, February 23, 2004 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green.

She was a native of Grayson County. She was a member of Christian Home Church of Christ.

She is survived by her husband, Joe England of Falls of Rough; parents, Charles and Dale Tomes of Welches Creek; one brother, Charlie Tomes of Morgantown, Ky.; two sisters, Beverly Butler of Springfield, Tenn. and Lisa Tomes-Kirby of Lavergne, Tenn.; and five nieces and two nephews.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, February 26, 2004 at the Jones Funeral Chapel.

Burial was in the Christian Home Cemetery.

Bill Womack
1937-2003

Bill Womack, age 66, of Clarkson died on February 5, 2004 at his residence.

He was born on August 15, 1937 in Barlowe County, Ga. as the son of Charlie W. Cantrell and Charlotte Cantrell.

He is survived by his wife, Florence Womack of Clarkson; one brother, John Cantrell of Adairsville, Ga.; one daughter, Leigh Ann Cantrell of Woodstock, Ga.; and one nephew.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, February 7, 2004 at the Rogers Oller Funeral Chapel with Rev. Brian Johnson officiating.

Burial was in the St. Benedict Cemetery.
