Funeral services will be held Saturday, Feb. 28, 1 p.m. at the Jones-Preston Funeral Home Chapel for Tammy Sue Cantrell, 48, of Thelma, who passed away Tuesday, Feb. 24 at Riceville.
Ms. Cantrell was born July 22, 1966 in Johnson County, daughter of Chester Tackett (step-mother, Sharon Tackett) of Riceville and Helen Caudill Bowles (step-father, Charles Bowles) of Flat Gap; one son, Landan Alejandro Martinez of Thelma; two daughters, Sabrina Kay Cantrell and Tashayla Jade Guerrero, both of Thelma; three brothers, Anthony R. Bowles, Timothy Earl Bowles, and Mark Allen Bowles, all of Mt. Sterling; six sisters, Betty Lee Tackett of Oil Springs, Denise Ann Patrick of Parkersburg, W. Va., Paula Reneé Daniel of Flat Gap, Lori Hubb of Dayton, Ohio, Staci Mullis of Corbin, and Michelle Patrick of Riceville; and two grandchildren.
Visitation will be Friday, Feb. 27, 9 a.m.-9 p.m. and Saturday, Feb. 28, 9 a.m. until of service.
The service will be officiated by Ronnie Spriggs, with burial to follow in the Highland Memorial Park cemetery at Staffordsville.
Arrangements under the direction of the Jones-Preston Funeral Home of Paintsville.

Wendell K. Rowland
1941-2015
Funeral services will be held Friday, Feb. 27, 11 a.m. at the Paintsville Funeral Home Chapel for Wendell K. Rowland, 73, of Stanwood, Mich., formerly of Red Bush, who passed away Monday, Feb. 23.
Mr. Rowland was born Oct. 10, 1941 at Red Bush, son of the late Eckell P. and Virginia Woods Rowland. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis Rowland.
Surviving are three sons, Darren (Wendy) Rowland of Flat Fork, Mich., Doyle Rowland of Stanwood, Mich. and Teddy (Pebbles) Rowland of Carlton, Mich.; two daughters. Dolly (Les) Lucas of Paris, Mich. and Connie Rowland of Redford, Mich; two brothers, Michael Rowland of Stanwood, and Sammy Rowland of Texas; two sisters, Anna Zezalee Keeton of Louisa and Mary May (Everitt) McCoy of Louisville; 16 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
The service will be officiated by the Rev. Bob Williams, with burial to follow in the Keeton Family cemetery at West Liberty.
Arrangements under the direction of the Paintsville Funeral Home.

Peggy Blanton Vance
1939-2015
Funeral services were held Monday, Feb. 23, 11 a.m. at the Jones-Preston Funeral Home Chapel for Peggy Blanton Vance, 75, of Lexington, who passed away Wednesday, Feb. 18 at Baptist Health in Lexington.
Mrs. Vance was born March 21, 1939 in Johnson County, daughter of the late Raymond and Fannie Meade Blanton. She was a banker. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Palmer Gene Vance Sr.; and one sister, Christine Blanton Wheeler.
Surviving are two sons, Palmer Gene Vance II of Lexington, and Robert Scott Vance of Winchester; and one brother, Ronald Blanton of Oil Springs.
The service was officiated by Wes Stedtefeld, with burial in the Highland Memorial Park cemetery at Staffordsville.
Arrangements under the direction of the Jones-Preston Funeral Home of Paintsville.

Roger Keith Brown
1952-2015
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Feb. 26, 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Paintsville for Roger Keith Brown, 62, of Lexington, who passed away Friday, Feb. 20 at the U. K. Medical Center in Lexington.
Mr. Brown was born March 18, 1952 in Dayton, Ohio, son of the late Proctor Sherman and Audrey Pauline Williams Brown. He was a retired car salesman.
Surviving are one son, Tyler (Megan) Brown of Somerset; one daughter, Audrey Brown of Lexington; two brothers, Michael Loy Brown of Staffordsville, and David Brown of Lexington; one sister, Deedra Brown of Lexington; and one grandson.
Visitation will be Wednesday, Feb. 25, 5-9 p.m. and Thursday, Feb. 26, 10 a.m. until time of service.
The service will be officiated by Wayne Cornett, with burial to follow in the Highland Memorial Park cemetery at Staffordsville.
Arrangements under the direction of the Jones-Preston Funeral Home of Paintsville.

Kermit Grover Cook
1943-2015
Funeral services were held Sunday, Feb. 22, 12 p.m. at the Preston Funeral Home Chapel for Kermit Grover Cook, 71, of Meally, who passed away Friday, Feb. 20 at Pikeville Medical Center.
Mr. Cook was born April 12, 1943, son of Walter and Maude Cook. He was a construction general laborer. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Minerva Meade Cook.
Surviving are one son, John C. Cook of Meally; and two daughters, Janie Daniel of Boons Camp, and Regina Williams.
The service was officiated by Dewey M. Mullins and David A. Baldwin, with burial in the Highland Memorial Park cemetery at Staffordsville.

Richard Harold Sharp
1928-2015
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Feb. 25, 11 a.m. at the Jones-Preston Funeral Home Chapel for Richard Harold Sharp, 86, of Bradford, Ohio, who passed away Friday, Feb. 20 at V. A. Hospice Facility in Dayton, Ohio,
Mr. Sharp was born Nov. 3, 1928 in Rochester, N. Y., son of the late Ervine Sharp and Bessie Dorothy Hochum. He was retired U. S. Army. He was also preceded in death by five brothers.
Surviving are his wife, Mildred Gambill Sharp of Bradford; two sons, Richard Allen and Ronnie Harold Sharp, both of Indianapolis, Ind.; one daughter, Vickie Lee Workman of Shelbyville; nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
The service will be officiated by Ronnie Spriggs and Larry Blair, with burial to follow in the Highland Memorial Park cemetery at Staffordsville.
Arrangements under the direction of the Jones-Preston Funeral Home of Paintsville.

Billie Eileen Sublett Meade
1930-2015
Funeral services were held Thursday, Feb. 19, 1 p.m. at the Jones-Preston Funeral Home Chapel for Billie Eileen Sublett Meade, 84, of Paintsville, who passed away Sunday, Feb. 15 in Paintsville.
Mrs. Meade was born March 15, 1930 in Johnson County, daughter of the late Dallas and Jane Osborne Sublett. She was a homemaker. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Homer Meade; one daughter, Susan Meade Gay; four brothers, Walter, James T., Hobert and Wilbur A. Sublett; and three sisters, Leliah Wheeler, Dorothy Wyatt and Neva Louise Rothwell.
Surviving are one daughter, Karen (Michael “Bud”) Robinson of Paintsville; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
The service was officiated by Wes Stedtefeld, with burial in the Highland Memorial Park cemetery at Staffordsville.

Jace Rylan Curtis
2014-2015
Funeral services will be held Friday, Feb. 20, 1 p.m. at the Phelps & Son Funeral Home Chapel for Jace Rylan Curtis, four months old, of Sitka.
Jace was born Oct. 27, 2014, son of Johnnie and Elizabeth Weddington Curtis of Sitka.
Surviving in addition to his parents are one brother, Matthew Tyler Curtis; maternal grandparents, Staci Rowland Meade and Joe D. Weddington Jr; paternal grandparents, Vivian and Gary Curtis; maternal great-grandmother, Rose Ann Rowland; and paternal great-grandparents, Johnny and Malta Curtis.
Burial will follow in the Lakeview Memorial cemetery at Staffordsville.
Arrangements under the direction of the Phelps & Son Funeral Home of Paintsville.
