Wade Douglas Tackett
1944-2015
Funeral services will be held Friday, Feb. 13, 2 p.m. at the Jones-Preston Funeral Home Chapel for Wade Douglas Tackett, 71, of East Point, who passed away Wednesday, Feb. 11 at his residence.
Mr. Tackett was born Jan. 31, 1944 in Johnson County, son of the late Earl Frank and Bessie Mae Hammonds Tackett. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Lee Conley Tackett; one daughter, Rhonda Reneé Tackett Gratz; and one sister, Gerry Mae Tackett.
Surviving are three sons, Wade Douglas Tackett Jr. of Arizona, Brian Douglas (Barbara) Tackett of East Point and David Anthony Tackett of Inez; two daughters, Pamela Lynn Tackett of East Point, and Tessie Mae Tackett of Paintsville; one brother, Claudus Earl Tackett of Ohio; 21 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
The service will be officiated by Harry Neal Frisby, with burial to follow in the family cemetery at East Point.
Arrangements under the direction of the Jones-Preston Funeral Home of Paintsville.

Michael D. Webb
1952-2015
Michael A. Webb, Ph. D., 62, of Cincinnati, Ohio, died Sunday, Feb. 1, 2015. Memorial service was held Wednesday, Feb. 4 at Anderson Hills United Methodist Church in Cincinnati.
Memorials to Leukemia & Lymphoma Society or Hospice of Cincinnati.
Michael was a 1972 graduate of Keller High School. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Texas at Arlington and his Ph.D. in economics from the University of Illinois. He was a professor at the University of Kentucky beginning in 1979 and had been a professor at Xavier University in Cincinnati, since 1997. He served as dean of the Williams College of Business from 1997 to 2003.
He was the loving husband of Shelly Eldridge Webb, Ph.D.; beloved father of Brennan and Matthew Webb; devoted son of Samuel and Marilyn Webb; and dear brother of Judy Webb and Lisa Webb.

Betty Keel
1948-2015
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Feb. 11, 11 a.m. at the Phelps & Son Funeral Home Chapel for Betty Keel, 66, of Paintsville, who passed away Sunday, Feb. 8 at her residence.
Mrs. Keel was born March 5, 1948 in Johnson County, daughter of the late Florine Daniels. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Keel; four brothers, Doug Daniels, Wayne Hughes, John Michael Hughes and Rick Hughes; and two sisters, Izora Ruth Hill and Kathy Ward.
Surviving are one daughter, Tammy Keel of Van Lear; one son, Timothy Keel of Eddyville; two sisters, Deidra Hughes and Patricia Gaye Justice, both of Paintsville; and six grandchildren.
The service will be officiated by Roger Hill, with burial to follow in the Keel Family cemetery at Van Lear.

Scarlett M. Collins
1963-2015
Funeral services were Saturday, Feb. 7, 1 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Baileyton in Greeneville, Tenn. for Scarlett M. Collins, 51, of Greeneville, who passed away Tuesday, Feb. 3 at Laughlin Memorial Hospital in Greeneville.
Mrs. Collins was born June 13, 1963, daughter of Sandra Lynn Price and the late Freddie L. Epperley. She was an employee of Laughlin Health Care and a member of the First Baptist Church of Baileyton. She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Tara M. Branham; and maternal grandparents, Rev. William Wardy and Gladys May.
Surviving in addition to her mother are her husband, Steve Collins; step-father, Eddie Ray Price; two sons, Warren Craig (Ashley) Branham and Casey Alexander (Kristi) Branham; step-children, Stephanie (Mark) Looney, Jason Randall (Amy) Collins, and Joshua Lee Collins; two sisters, Ambre Thacker and Debbie (Dermot) Ryan; and two step-grandchildren.
The service was officiated by the Rev. James Roberts, with interment at the Cross Anchor cemetery in Greeneville.
Arrangements under the direction of the Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home of Greeneville.

Diana Sue Ratliff Ward
1944-2015
Funeral services were held Monday, Feb. 9, 3 p.m. at the Preston Funeral Home Chapel for Diana Sue Ratliff Ward, 70, of Auxier, who passed away Friday, Feb. 6.
Mrs. Ward was born May 15, 1944 in Paintsville, daughter of the late Mason and Margaret Spradlin Ratliff. She was a member of the Southland Christian Church in Lexington; and a convenience store clerk.
Surviving are her husband, Charles Ray Ward; two sons, Dennis Ward of Acworth. Ga., and David Ward of Auxier; one sister, Patsy McClure of Paintsville; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
The service was officiated by Manford Fannin, with burial in the Lakeview cemetery at Staffordsville.
Arrangements under the direction of the Preston Funeral Home of Paintsville.

Earl Dean Borders
1940-2015
Funeral services were held Saturday, Feb. 7, 2 p.m. at the Preston Funeral Home Chapel for Earl Dean Borders, 74, of River, who passed away Thursday, Feb. 5 at Paul B. Hall Regional Medical Center in Paintsville.
Mr. Borders was born April 20, 1940 at Georges Creek, son of the late Jesse and Marie Chandler Borders. He was a self-employed truck driver, a U. S. Army veteran, and attended Walnut Grove Free Will Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Jewel Johnson Borders; and one brother, Douglas Borders.
The service was officiated by Jimmy VanHoose, with burial in the Borders cemetery at River.

Joann Burchett Cantrell
1962-2015
Funeral services were held Sunday, Feb. 8, 2 p.m. at the Phelps & Son Funeral Home Chapel for Joann Burchett Cantrell, 52, of Van Lear, who passed away Thursday, Feb. 5 at Paul B. Hall Regional Medical Center in Paintsville.
Mrs. Cantrell was born March 12, 1962 in Wabash, Ind., daughter of late John and Maggie Spears Dollarhide. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, David Burchett.
Surviving are her husband, James Cantrell of Van Lear; one son, Michael David Burchett of Van Lear; one brother, Billy Dollarhide of Van Lear; and two sisters, Mary Mitchell and Clara Booth, both of Wabash.
The service was officiated by Richard Music and Manford Fannin, with burial in the Burchett Family cemetery in Prestonsburg.

Clyde Collins
1926-2015
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Feb. 25, 12 p.m. at the Phelps & Son Funeral Home Chapel for Clyde Collins, 88, of Van Lear, who passed away Friday, Feb. 20 at River View Health Care Center in Prestonsburg.
Mr. Collins was born June 12, 1926 in Johnson County, son of the late McKinley Collins and Callie Daniels Collins. He was a retired coal miner and was of the Church of Christ faith. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Ola Mae Collins; two brothers, Raymond and Carl Collins; and two sisters, Maggie Penix and Lois May.
Surviving are two daughters, Sharon VanHoose of Tutor Key, and Sheila Collins of Van Lear; one sister, Mary Ferguson of Lexington; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
The service was officiated by Wayne Short and Vernon Hall, with burial in the Collins Family cemetery at Daniels Creek.
Arrangements under the direction of the Phelps & Son Funeral Home of Paintsville.

Gary Lee Sublett
1971-2015
Funeral services were held Sunday, March 1, 2 p.m. at the Preston Funeral Home Chapel for Gary Lee Sublett, 43, of Van Lear, who passed away Thursday, Feb. 26 at his residence.
Mr. Sublett was born March 6, 1971 in Paintsville, son of Garry and Joyce Pack Sublett.
The service was officiated by Larry Blair, with burial in the Pack-Chandler cemetery at Stambaugh.
