Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 20, 11 a.m. at the Walnut Grove Free Will Baptist Church, for Michael C. Havens, 51, of Lowmansville, Ky., who passed away Tuesday, August 16 at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Ky.
Mr. Havens was born November 19, 1953 in Morgan County, Ky., son of Edward Havens and the late Marie Ferguson Havens.
Surviving in addition to his father are his wife, Cathy Stevens Havens of Lowmansville, Ky.; one son, Dustin Michael Havens of Lowmansville, Ky.; three daughters, Kimberly Stambaugh of Nippa, Ky., Sandra Wilder of Paintsville, Ky., and Missy Havens of Lowmansville, Ky.; three brothers, Gary, Billy and Steve Havens, all of West Liberty, Ky.; three sisters, Donna Cantrell and Kim Nickel, both of West Liberty, Ky., and Ruth Davis of Hager Hill, Ky.; and one grandchild.
The service will be officiated by Jr. Boyd, Harold Stevens and Jimmy VanHoose, with burial following in the Stevens cemetery at Lowmansville, Ky.
Arrangements under the direction of the Preston Funeral Home of Paintsville, Ky.

James Robert Lyons
1942-2005
Funeral services were held Sunday, May 8, 11 a.m. at the Jones-Preston Funeral Home Chapel for James Robert Lyons, 62, of Paintsville, Ky., who passed away Thursday, May 5.
Mr. Lyons was born May 24, 1942 in Johnson County, Ky., son of the late Bert and Margie Ward Lyons. He was a retired insurance agent. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Roy Mitchell Lyons.
Surviving are his wife, Peggy Lewis Lyons of Paintsville, Ky.; three brothers, Charles Arthur and Lanny Keith Lyons, both of River, Ky., and Dennis Ray Lyons of Paintsville, Ky.; and two sisters, Alberta Buckley of Toledo, Ohio, and Ann Louise Bowers of Kokomo, Ind.
The service was officiated by M. T. Womack, with burial at Highland Memorial Park at Staffordsville, Ky.
Arrangements under the direction of the Jones-Preston Funeral Home of Paintsville, Ky.

Gary Morris Wells
1961-2005
Funeral services were held Friday, May 6, 11 a.m. at the Jones-Preston Funeral Home Chapel for Gary Morris Wells, 43, of Lake City, Fla., who passed away Friday, April 29 at his residence.
Mr. Wells was born October 4, 1961 in Johnson County, Ky., son of Morris Wells and Mary Edith May Moore. He was the manager of Floory Supply Company.
Surviving in addition to his parents are two sons, Brandon Wells of Lexington, Ky., and Justin Wells of Johnson County, Ky.; one daughter, Ashley Wells of Lake City, Fla.; one sister, Peggy Wells of Lake City, Fla.; and one grandchild.
The service was officiated by Tommy Howard and Donald Ray Caudill, with burial following in the Bayes cemetery at Riceville, Ky.

Bessie McCoart
1918-2005
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 11, noon at the Van Lear Free Will Baptist Church for Bessie McCoart, 87, of Van Lear, Ky., who passed away Monday, May 9 at Paul B. Hall Regional Medical Center in Paintsville, Ky.
Mrs. McCoart was born March 23, 1918 in Johnson County, Ky., daughter of the late Frank and Izora Harless Daniels. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Art McCoart.
Surviving are five sons, Henry McCoart of Wabash, Ind., and Frank (Burns), Dan, John P. and Tony McCoart, all of Van Lear, Ky.; three daughters, Jenny Phelps of Hager Hill, Ky., and Patty Lee and Angela Burton, both of Van Lear, Ky.; one brother, Bob Daniels of Van Lear, Ky.; one sister, Lucille Blanton of Paintsville, Ky.; 21 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
The service will be officiated by Jimmy Price and Paul Wayne Browning, with burial following in the Highland Memorial Park at Staffordsville, Ky.

LaGrand Parsons
1942-2005
Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 12, 1 p.m. at the Rogers Funeral Home for LaGrand Parsons, 63, of Pinsonfork, Ky., who passed away Monday, May 9 at Pikeville Medical Center in Pikeville, Ky.
Mr. Parsons was born January 16, 1942 in Thomas, Ky., son of Mintie Nichols Blackburn and the late William Harvey Parsons. He was a retired miner with Addington Coal Corp.
Surviving in addition to his mother are his wife, Sharon Jean Varney Parsons of Pinsonfork, Ky.; two daughters, Deborah (Ron) Webb and Kimberly (Kelly) Osborne, both of Paintsville, Ky.; one brother, George Carey Blackburn of San Antonio, Texas; one sister, Pamela Blackburn of Belfry, Ky.; and two grandchildren.
The service will be officiated by Bob Wentz and David Parsley, with burial following in the Mt. View Memory Gardens at Huddy, Ky.
Arrangements under the direction of the R. E. Rogers Funeral Home of Belfry, Ky.

Linda Sue Christian
1952-2005
Funeral services were held Friday, May 6, 1 p.m. at the Jones-Preston Funeral Home Chapel for Linda Sue Christian, 52, of Thelma, Ky., who passed away Monday, May 2 at her residence.
Ms. Christian was born October 5, 1952 in McDowell, Ky., daughter of the late Scott L. and Elenore L. Sinett Christian. She was a homemaker.
Surviving are one son, David Scott Dalton of Lawrence County, Ky.; two daughters, Rebecca Ann Dalton of Thelma, Ky., and Clarissa L. Stapleton of Hager Hill, Ky.; one brother, Roger Christian of Columbus, Ohio; one sister, Brenda Sue Johnson of Hazard, Ky.; three grandchildren; two nieces, Laura and Sarah Johnson of Hazard, Ky.; and one nephew, Derrick Christian of Paintsville, Ky.
The service was officiated by Ronnie Spriggs, with burial in the Dalton cemetery in Lawrence County, Ky.

Linzie Joe Harman
1961-2005
Funeral services were held Monday, May 9, 11 a.m. at the Paintsville Funeral Home Chapel for Linzie Joe Harman, 43, of Mt. Gilead, Ohio, who passed away Thursday, May 5.
Mr. Harman was born October 29, 1961 in Paintsville, Ky., son of the late Paul and Mary Sue Dixon Harman.
Surviving are his wife, Marlena Reynolds Harman of Lexington, Ky.; one son, Joseph Heath Harman of Kingston, Tenn.; three brothers, Charlie Harman of Fountain Hills, Ariz., Timothy Harman of Mt. Gilead, Ohio, and Gary Harman of St. Paul, Ind.; and one sister, Nannette Robinson of Paintsville, Ky.
The service was officiated by the Revs. Roger Hill and David Blackburn, with burial in the Harman cemetery at Paintsville, Ky.

Odie Page Howard
1923-2005
Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 12, 11 a.m. at the Phelps & Son Funeral Home, Paintsville Chapel for Odie Page Howard, 81, of Van Lear, Ky., who passed away Monday, May 9 at Highland Regional Medical Center in Prestonsburg, Ky.
Mrs. Howard was born December 26, 1923 in Pike County, Ky., daughter of the late Arlen and Mary McGinnis Page. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Offutt Howard.
Surviving are six sons, Offutt Howard Jr. of Red Bush, Ky., Marvin Howard of Staffordsville, Ky., Delbert Howard of Blanchester, Ohio, and Curt, Ronnie and Lonnie Howard, all of Van Lear, Ky.; four daughters, Betty Daniels of Van Lear, Ky., and Mary Jane Carpenter, Joyce Murray, and Goldie Daniels, all of Pikeville, Ky.; and one sister, Lily Stevens of Chesapeake, Ohio.
The service will be officiated by Roger Hill and Lowell Webb, with burial following in the Goble cemetery at Davella, Ky.
