Robert L. Fairchild
1947-2009
Funeral services were held June 9 at 11 a.m. at the Ingram Funeral Home in Marysville, Ohio, for Robert L. Fairchild, 62, of Milford Center, Ohio, who died June 5 at Riverside Hosital in Columbus, Ohio.
He was born Feb. 28, 1947 in Paintsville, son the late Kennis and Bessie Selvage Fairchild.
He was a U.S. Army veteran.
He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Alvis L. Roberts, Paul K. Fairchild and Alton Fairchild.
He is survived by his wife, Nina M. Picklesimer Fairchild; two sons, Patrick L. (Stephanie) Fairchild and Jamie W. (Rhonda) Fairchild, both of Milford Center; four sisters, Delores A. (Charles) Woodworth, Gladys F. (Robert) Short, and Irma R. Damron, all of Milford Center, and Phyllis J. (Robert) Haney, Hager Hill; five grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
The service was conducted by Rev. Ken Daft, with burial following at the Milford Center Cemetery.
Arrangements under the direction of Ingram Funeral Home, Marysville.

Ervin Fannin
1936-2009
Funeral services will be held today, Wednesday, March 11, 11 a.m. at the Phelps & Son Funeral Home Chapel for Ervin Fannin, 72, of Flat Gap, Ky., who passed away Sunday, March 8 at his residence.
Mr. Fannin was born June 12, 1936 in Johnson County, Ky., son of the late Grover and Christine Honeycutt Fannin.
Surviving are his wife, Inez Rowland Fannin of Flat Gap; two sons, Leonard Allen Fannin of Oil Springs, and Ricky Ervin Fannin of Haysi, Va.; five daughters, Teresa Dot Iricks of Olive Hill, Ky., Sherry Lee Clay of East Point, Ky., Pamela Sue Goble of Meally, Ky., Daria Ann Williams of Newton, Ga., and Melissa Lyn Blanton of River; and 13 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
The service will be officiated by Robert Lee Murray and Daris Lewis, with burial following in the Fannin Family cemetery at Van Lear, Ky.
Arrangements under the direction of the Phelps & Son Funeral Home of Paintsville, Ky.

Francis Fannin
1924-2009
Funeral services were held Sunday, March 8, 1 p.m. at the Phelps & Son Funeral Home Chapel in Paintsville, Ky., for Francis Fannin, 85, of Paintsville, who passed away Friday, March 6 at Mountain Manor Nursing Home.
Mrs. Fannin was born Feb. 2, 1924 in Martin County, Ky., daughter of the late Moses and Lucy Maynard Stepp. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Rufus Fannin; one son, Buddy Stepp; one daughter, Emil Lee Helton; three brothers, Robert, Freddie, and Lacy Stepp; and one grandson, Lee Stepp.
Surviving are one son, Randy Stepp of Paintsville; and two sisters, Millie Perkins and Bonnie Gauze, both of Inez, Ky.
Arrangements under the direction of the Phelps & Son Funeral Home of Paintsville.

Phillip Michael Salyer
1948-2009
Funeral services were held Monday, March 9, 1 p.m. at the Paintsville Funeral Home Chapel for Phillip Michael Salyer, 60, of Brownstown, Ind., formerly of Oil Springs, Ky., who passed away Thursday, March 5.
Mr. Salyer was born April 7, 1948, son of the late Woodrow and Margaret Blanton Salyer. He was owner/operator of a trucking company and a U.S. Army veteran.
Surviving are his son, Kyle Ray (Jennifer) Salyer of Paintsville, Ky.; one step-daughter, Shelley (Eli) Putnam of Statesville, N.C.; aunt, Verna Blanton Lemaster of Salyersville, Ky.; and two grandchildren.
The service was officated by Scott Erwin, with burial in the Highland Memorial Park at Staffordsville, Ky.
Arrangements under the direction of the Paintsville Funeral Home of Paintsville.

Coreine Mills
1923-2009
Funeral services were held Monday, March 9, 2 p.m. at the Turkey Creek Nazarene Church for Coreine Mills, 87, of Inez, Ky., who passed away Friday, March 6 at her residence.
Mrs. Mills was born July 12, 1923 in Martin County, Ky. daughter of the late Melvin and Rose Horn Hinkle. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Luke Mills.
Surviving are two sons, Homer Dale Mills of Inez, and Mitch Mills of Columbus, Ohio; one daughter, Kathrun Jones of Columbus; two step-sons, Claude and Howard Mills, both of Inez; two brothers, Ermal and James Hinkle, both of Columbus; one sister, Cora Bentley of Columbus; and 18 grandchildren.
The service was officiated by Dave Robirds, with burial in the Mills Family cemetery at Turkey Creek, Ky.
Arrangements under the direction of the Phelps & Son Funeral Home of Inez.

Grace Slone
1940-2009
Funeral services were held Monday, March 9, noon at the Phelps & Son Funeral Home Chapel in Inez, Ky., for Grace Slone, 68, of Inez, who passed away Friday, March 6 at Highlands Regional Medical Center in Prestonsburg, Ky.
Mrs. Slone was born Aug. 25, 1940 in Martin County, Ky., daughter of the late Charlie and Anna Maynard.
Surviving are her husband, Bob Slone of Inez; one son, John Slone of Paintsville, Ky.; one daughter, Vicki Boyce of Louisa, Ky.; two brothers, Pearl and Eugen Maynard of Beauty, Ky.; five sisters, Patty Cassady of Lakewood, N.J., Juanita Shipe of Ashville, Ohio, Betty McCoy of Louisa, Pauline May of Beauty, and Inis Moore of Columbus, Ohio; and three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
The service was officiated by Jim Horn, with burial in the Green Lawn cemetery at Louisa.
Arrangements under the direction of the Phelps & Son Funeral Home of Inez.

Daniel Justice
Daniel Shannon “Shan” Justice, 43, of Lexington, died Friday March 27, 2009.
He was the son of Gatha Justice of Pikeville, and the late Daniel Q. Justice.
He was employed as an accounts manager for CRM Facilities Management of Lexington. He was also preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Quentin and Annette Justice.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Tina Segneri Justice of Lexington; two daughters, Hunter Brooklyn Justice and Samantha Tate Justice, both of Lexington, and by his maternal grandparents, Curtis and Lucy Robinson of Pikeville, as well as a loving extended family and a host of friends and fans of his music, who will miss him dearly.
A memorial service was held at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 5, at First Christian Church, Chloe Road, Pikeville.
In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to First Christian Church of Pikeville, 313 Chloe Road, Pikeville, Ky. 41501, or to Good Shepherd Episcopal Church, 533 E. Main St., Lexington, Ky. 40508.

Eva Ward
1923-2009
Funeral services were held Monday, April 6, 1 p.m. at the Carey First Baptist Church in Carey, Ohio, for Eva Ward, 85, of Vanlue, Ohio, who passed away Friday, April 3 at Birchhaven Village in Findlay, Ohio.
Mrs. Ward was born April 18, 1923 in Johnson County, Ky., daugher of the late Lonnie and Maudie Spradlin Ratliff. She was a member of the Carey First Free Will Baptist Church. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Hager E. Ward; one son, Neal Ward; five brothers, one sister; and two great-grandsons.
Surviving are five children. Jenny (Stan) Kline of Vanlue, Keith (Wilma) Ward of Fostoria, Ohio, Charlotte (Michael) Myers of Washington, Mich., Sandy Ward of North Baltimore, Ohio, and Randy Ward of Carey; and 15 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
The service was officiated by the Revs. Brent Layne and Bill Mahan, with burial in the Maple Grove cemetery at Findlay.
Arrangement under the direction of the Stombaugh-Batton Funeral Home of Carey.
