Born August 7, 1945 in Avon Park, FL, he was the son of Eugene H. and Marilynn Crawford Lambley. He had served in the US Marine Corps and was a member of St. Paul s United Methodist Church of Tulsa. He was president and founder of Alternative Labor Resource, Inc. of Tulsa. Survivors include: his parents, Tulsa, OK; his wife, Patricia "Patty" Holderman-Lambley, daughter of the late Thomas and Virginia Smith Holderman and step daughter of Nellie Robinson Holderman of Salvisa; and a son, Rand Michael Lambley, both of Tulsa. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Cherie Leann Lambley. Pallbearers were Cheesie MacIntosh, Delbert Trotter, Bill Fyffe, Don Harding, Tony Haney, Larry Brown and Jeff Lewis. Funeral services were held Wednesday, September 1, at St. Paul s United Methodist Church in Tulsa with Rev. Rex Wilkes officiating. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery in Tulsa. William Stanley Snipes, 72, of Niantic, Connecticut, formerly of East Hartford, died Monday, July 26, 1999, at the West Haven Veterans Hospital. Survivors include two sisters, Mildred Pierre of West Hartford and Anna J. Sallee of Harrodsburg. He was preceded in death by five brothers and sisters. Graveside services were held on Friday, July 30, at Veterans Memorial Field Hillside Cemetery in East Hartford, CT.

EVELYN COLVIN
Evelyn Cocanougher Colvin, 82, of Meadow Lane, Springfield, died Saturday, August 28, 1999 at the Harrodsburg Health Care Center. Born January 28, 1917 in Washington County, she was the daughter of the late Henry Clarence and Cassie Young VanDyke. She was a member of the Springfield Baptist Church and a retired personnel director of the former Cowden Manufacturing Company in Springfield. Survivors include a step-son, Mike Colvin of Springfield, two sisters, Mrs. Mike (Dorothy) Sloan of Louisville and Mrs. Donald (Barbara) Bottom of Mt. Washington; five step grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Herman Cocanougher, her second husband, J. R. Colvin, a sister, Irene Brady, and a brother, Charles William VanDyke. Funeral services were held Monday, August 30, at the Carey and Son Funeral Home, Springfield, with Rev. Bland Mason officiating. Burial was in the Bethlehem Cemetery. Pallbearers were Mike Colvin, Mike Riney, Mitchell Reynolds, Kenneth Davis, Bob Walker and Jeff Tingle.

Mr. Clarence William Sims, 68, of Hamilton, OH, died Wednesday, August 30, 1999 at his residence. A native of Mercer County, he was the son of Clinton and Hazel Kurtz Sims. He was employed as a truck driver for the Kroger Company for 40 years, retiring in 1992. He was a member of First Millville Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and Trustee. Survivors include, his wife, Norma Louise, who he married June 10, 1949 in Burgin; three daughters, Wanda Louise (Glenn) Peavler, Harrodsburg, Debra Jean Sims and Kimberly Anne Sims, both of Hamiton, OH; two brothers, Clinton Sims, Jr. , Frankfort, and Hollie J. Sims, Harrodsburg; one sister, Margaret Camden, Harrodsburg; two grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Wednesday, September 1, at the Weigel Funeral Home, Hamilton, OH, with Rev. David Reynolds and Rev. Richard McGuire officiating. Burial and graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday at Rose Hill Burial Park. Born in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late Lee Hardin and Ruth Gritton Watts. She was the widow of Bertie Taylor. She was a homemaker and a member of Bohon Church of Christ. Survivors include: two sons, William C. Taylor, Mercer County, Steven Douglas Taylor, Harrodsburg; four step sons, Bruce Taylor, Buford Taylor and William D. Taylor, Mercer County and Charlie Taylor, Lexington; two daughters, Rita Kay Durr, Mercer County, Connie Gail Bivins, Harrodsburg; one brother, Allin Watts, Harrodsburg; one sister, Mary Katherine Russell, Harrodsburg; two grandsons. She was preceded in death by: one stepson, Owen Taylor; three sisters, Leona Watts Barr, Edna Watts and Pauline Watts Bugg; one half sister, Elverine Van Pelt; one nephew, Bobby Watts. Clovis Preston Robinson, 76, husband of Ruth Ann Robinson, Redding Road, Lexington, died Monday, August 30, 1999, at St. Joseph Hospital. Born in Anderson County, he was the son of the late Homer G. and Patsy Poulter Robinson. He was a retired advertising executive with the Lexington Herald-Leader for 35 years. He received his education at the University of Maryland and the University of Kentucky. He was a member of the Park United Methodist Church, their administrative board and board of trustees, and also a member of the Lexington Advertising Federation. He was an army veteran of World War II. Other survivors include: a daughter, Mary Elizabeth Robinson, Philadelphia; one son, David Preston (Anne) Robinson, Portland, ME; one sister, Oneeta Robinson Searcy, Louisville; one aunt, Mary E. Gray, Harrodsburg; one grandchild. Funeral services were conducted Thursday, September 2, at W. R. Milward Mortuary-Southland, conducted by Rev. Michael Allen and Dr. Thomas Ditto. Committal services were held Friday at Spring Hill Cemetery in Harrodsburg. Honorary pallbearers were David L. Brain, Richard Doughty, Craig Foster, Sterling Gregory, William Hornbeck, James W. A native of Mercer County, he was the son of the late David W. and Mattie Kurtz Phillips. He was a retired employee of the Franklin County Board of Education and had been a former employee of Schenley Distillery for 27 years. He was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene, Frankfort, and the VFW Post #4075. He was an army veteran of World War II. Survivors include: his wife of 52 years, Margaret Dryden Phillips, Frankfort; two sons, Michael L. And Tim L. Phillips, both of Frankfort; two sisters, Ruth Grider, Lexington, Lena Sims, Harrodsburg; four brothers, David Phillips, Harrodsburg, Stanley Phillips, Lawrenceburg, Carl Phillips, Lexington, and Raymond Phillips, Dearborn, MI; one daughter-in-law, Connie Phillips, Frankfort; three grandsons. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Lela Phillips and Sarah Hall, and a brother, Alvin Phillips. Beulah Mae Isham Hendren, 88, of Main Street, Mackville, died Monday, August 30, 1999 at the University of Louisville Hospital. A native of Washington County, she was born October 21, 1910 to the late Walter and Flora Boswell Isham. She was a member of the Willisburg Church of Christ and a former nurse at the James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital. Survivors include: her husband, Ray Hendren, whom she married January 3, 1930; one son, J. W. (Linda) Hendren, Mackville; one daughter, Joyce (Donald "Buddy") Smith, Harrodsburg; two sisters, Katie McCrystal and Ethel Russell, both of Harrodsburg; six grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, one great great grandson. She was preceded in death by a son, Billy Ray Hendren; two daughters, Flora Mae Hendren and Wanda Lee Hendren; one brother, William Isham. Funeral services were held Thursday, September 2, at the Carey and Son Funeral Home in Springfield, with Bro. Forest Morris and Bro. Burnice Richardson officiating. Burial was in the Battle Cemetery. Harriet "Sitty" Russell Powell, age 69, of 4664 Spring Creek Drive, Lexington, died Sunday, September 5, 1999, at the Hospice Care Center of St. Joseph Hospital. A native of Louisville, she was the daughter of the late Harry Joseph Russell and Harriet Alexander Russell. She was the widow of Lynn G. Powell Jr. She was a graduate of Harrodsburg High School, the University of Kentucky, was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta, Past President of Pan-Hellenic, and was the band sponsor for the UK Marching Band. She was an honorary Kentucky Colonel, member of Spindletop Hall, life member of the UK Alumni Association and a retired elementary school teacher. She was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd in Lexington. Survivors include: two daughters, Harriet Donohue and Mary Lockett Ranft, both of Lexington; two sons, Donald Joseph Donohue III, Ormond Beach, FL, and Michael Ward Donohue, Spring, TX; one step-son, Patrick Edward Powell, St. John s Island, SC. She was preceded in death by a brother, Joe Russell. Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 9, in Spring Hill Cemetery with Rev. Joan A. Smith and Rev. Robert F. Kurtz, 65, of Cincinnati, OH, formerly of Harrodsburg, died Thursday, September 2, 1999. Born May 1, 1934, he was the son of Lula Hurst Kurtz and the late Charles Kurtz. He was educated in the Winton Place Schools in Cincinnati and was employed as a Tech Specialist for Provident Bank for 15 years, retiring on April 30, 1999. He was an army veteran of the Korean Conflict. Survivors, in addition to his mother, include: his wife, Barbara Zinsle Kurtz; one daughter, Linda Mattingly; one son, Joseph Kurtz; one son-in-law, Bob Mattingly; one daughter-in-law, Shaune Kurtz; two sisters, Elsie Culbertson and Evelyn Kurtz; three grandchildren.
