William Bryan Russell, 43, Jamestown, KY, passed away Monday, August 18, 2003 at his residence. He was a member of the South Russell Volunteer Fire Department. Survivors include his wife, Lela Jones Russell, Jamestown, KY; one son, Sammy (Beth) Russell, Jamestown, KY; three sisters, Patricia Carroll, Russell Springs, KY; Pam Hall and Paula Brown, both of Jamestown, KY, Funeral services were Thursday, August 21, 2003 in the chapel of H.E. Pruitt Memory Chapel with Bro. David Withers and Bro. Phillip MIller officiating. Interment was in the Bethel Cemetery. Pallbearers were James Osborne, Paul Hupke, Jr., Damon Spencer, Shawn Kean, Troy Walters, Ron McGaha. H.E. Pruitt Memory Chapel was in charge of the arrangements.

Willard Lee Popplewell, Sr., 63, Shelbyville, IN, formerly of Russell County, passed away Wednesday, May 28, 2003 at his residence. He was a carpenter. Survivors include two sons, Chris Popplewell, Russell Springs, KY and Willard Popplewell, Jr., Dade City, FL; one daughter, Lorie Bailey, Greenwood, IN; five brothers, Marlus, Paul, Tommy, Ola, and Roy Popplewell, all of Russell Springs, KY; two sisters, Nadine Wilson and Meredith Hopper, both of Russell Springs, KY; and eight grandchildren. Funeral services were Saturday, May 31, 2003 in the chapel of the Bernard Funeral Home with Bro. Elvis Tucker officiating. Interment was in the Holt Cemetery. Pallbearers were Kevin Popplewell, Mike Taylor, Mark Coots, David Hopper, Vince Popplewell, and Joe Wilson. Bernard Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Morris E. Gaskins, 70, Edinburgh, IN formerly of Russell County, passed away Friday, August 22, 2003 at the Columbus Regional Hospital, Columbus, IN. He retired in 1996 after 34 years service as a core finisher for Golden Casung. Survivors include his wife, Beulah Mae Gaskins, Edinburgh, IN; four daughters, Rebecca Collins, Greenwood, IN, Nettie Gaskins, Edinburgh, IN, Susie Gaskins, Edinburgh, IN and Doris Hommel, Franklin, IN; two brothers, Leon Gaskins and Losier Gaskins, both of Russell Springs, KY; one sister, Patty Gaskins, Russell Springs, KY. She was preceded in death by a son, William Gaskins; a grandson, Brian Lee Hommel and by two brothers, Claude and William Gaskins. Funeral services were Wednesday, August 27, 2003 in the chapel of Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home with Rev. Lewis Burton officiating. Interment was in the Rest Haven Cemetery. Nellie Mae Gilbert, 75, Jamestown, KY, passed away Thursday, May 29, 2003, at the Russell County Hospital. She was retired from General Electric. Survivors include one son, Harold Gilbert, Keokuk, Iowa and one daughter, Barbara Lawless, Jamestown, KY; also surviving are three grandchildren and one great grandchild. She was preceded in death by one grandson, Ricky L.Lawless. Funeral services were Sunday, June 1, 2003 in the chapel of H.E. Pruitt Memory Chapel with Bro. Tony Stephens officiating. Interment was in the Rexroat Cemetery. Pallbearers were Billy Frank Grider, Bobby Grider, Jimmy Glover, Stevie Glover, Billy Glover, Harold Gilbert. H.E. Pruitt Memory Chapel was in charge of the arrangements.

Anna M. Yarberry, 74, Columbia, KY formerly of Russell County, passed away Wednesday, September 3, 2003 in Campbellsville, KY after an illness. She was a member of the Sparksville Church of the Nazarene and a retired factory worker. She was the daughter of the late Carlie and Mary A. Davis Polston and the widow of G.V. Yarberry who preceded her in death April 5, 2003. Survivors include three sons, Gaylon (Phyllis) Yarberry, Campbellsville, KY, Tyrone and Rocky Yarberry, both of Columbia, KY.; one daughter, Diane Murrell, Columbia, KY; four brothers, Kenneth Polston, Wallace Polston, and Willard Polston, all of Wisconsin and Keith Polston, Ohio; four sisters, Carol Cowan, Phyllis Fudge and Della Montgomery, all of Columbia, KY and Arlene Miller, Wisconsin; five grandchildren, one great grandchild, three step grandchildren, five step great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends also survive. Funeral services were Saturday, September 6, 2003 in the chapel of Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home with Bro. Lonny Karnes officiating. Interment was in the Fudge Cemetery at Breeding, KY. Honorary pallbearers were Gene Cash, Jr., Sparky Cash, Tyler Yarberry, Joel Yarberry, Perry Reeder, and Russell Roach. Active pallbearers were Bonita Lasley, Eleveta Sparks, Ruby Smith, Rosie Bearden, Judy England, Virginia Gadberry, Shirley Walker, Rita Noel, Jessie Janes, Patty Antle, Phyllis Shipp, Gladys Murrell, Pam Yarberry, Shirley Eagman, and Geneva Wisdom. Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Dallie E. Hadley, 62, Jamestown, KY passed away Saturday, May 10, 2003 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, KY.She was retired from Fruit of the Loom. She is survived by one son, Jim(Jan) Hadley, Somerset, KY; one daughter, Ruby Gail (Clyde) Kean, Jamestown, KY; five grandchildren, Brian Antle, Lisa Hadley, Bethany Hadley Trenton Harvey, and Jacob Harvey; and a special friend, Hiram Wooldridge. She was preceded in death by one son, Kenneth Wayne Hadley. Funeral services were Tuesday, May 13, 2003 in the chapel of the Bernard Funeral Home with Bro. Bobby Dunbar officiating. Special music was provided by Bobby Dunbar. Interment was in the Hadley Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers were Gene Gosser and employees and staff at Majestic Yachts. Active pallbearers were Matthew Coffey, David Hadley, Jerry Hadley, David Womack, Bill Padgett and Rex Coffey. The Bernard Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Josie Clara Hadley, 73, Jamestown, KY, passed away Tuesday, June 17, 2003 at Baptist East Hospital in Louisville, KY. She was a retired textile worker and a member of the Jamestown Church of the Nazarene. Survivors include one son, Alfred (Barbara) Hadley, Jr., Noblesville, IN; two daughters, Rhonda (King) Jones) and Carol (David) Kerns, both of Jamestown, KY; one brother, Gordon Wayman, Greenwood, IN; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren also survive. Funeral services were Thursday, June 19, 2003 in the chapel of the Bernard Funeral Home with Bro. Richard Morgan and Bro. Danny Brummett. Special music was provided by Beth Morgan. Interment was in the Dixon Cemetery. Pallbearers were Chris Kerns, Larry Hadley, King Jones, Matthew Jones, Michael Jones and Jeff Rigney. The Bernard Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Isabel M. Hale, 96, Jamestown, KY passed away Tuesday, September 2, 2003 at the Fair Oaks Nursing Home. Survivors include two sons, James (Jean) Hale, Jamestown, KY and WIlliam (Dianne) Hale, Novi, MI; one sister, Dorothy Dickerson, AZ; five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. There will be no visitation and Burial will be in Royal Oak, MI.
