Perry Wheeler
(Died March 21, 2012)
U.S. Veteran

A resident of Metairie, he died March 21, 2012 at Lane Regional Medical Center. He was 87 years old and a US Army veteran.

Memorial Service will be on Saturday, March 24, 2012 at 11am at Unity Church in Metairie.

He is survived by his wife, Anabel McDonald;

step-children, Jeff McDonald and Brian McDonald;

4 step-grandchildren and 3 step-great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Oak and Annis Wheeler and a brother.

Thaddieus A. Carter "T.A."
(February 20, 1931 - March 22, 2012)
U.S. Veteran

Matthew 11:28-30 "Come to me all who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest." T. A. passed away on March 22, 2012 at The Carpenter House, Baton Rouge, after a lengthy illness. T. A. was born in Plaquemine, LA and a resident of Zachary. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army and served in the Korean Conflict. He retired from Boilermakers Local # 582. Visiting will be Saturday March 24, 2012 at First Baptist Church Zachary from 9:00 am until 11:00 am service conducted by Dr. Wayne Barnes and Dr. Brythel Brantley. Interment will be in Azalea Rest Cemetery. He is survived by his wife of 50+ years, Katie Felder Carter; daughter, Janet Carter Herrick and husband Roger of Central; sons, Thad Allen Carter of Zachary and Walter Roy Carter of Baton Rouge; grandchildren, Cassie Lee Carter, Kelsey Brynn Carter, Brittney Danielle Herrick and Jansen Michael Herrick and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Evoly Carter, mother, Corine Jones Carter; sisters, Eula Mae, Jewell, Katie Sue, Alma Lee; and brothers, Delmus, Roy, Oscar, Edgar and A.V. He enjoyed playing the steel guitar and built and flew radio controlled airplanes.

Catherine Leet Rosa
(November 23, 1923 - March 21, 2012)

"God saw you getting tired, And a cure was not to be, So he put his arms around you and whispered, "Come to Me." With tearful eyes we watched you, And saw you pass away. And, although we love you dearly, We could not make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating, Hard working hands at rest, God broke our hears to prove to us, He only takes the best." A former resident of Jackson, Louisiana and born in Bayou Sarah, Louisiana on November 23, 1923. She died on Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at her home in Denham Springs. She was 88 years young and was a retired Psychiatric Aid III from East Louisiana State Hospital with 20 years of service. Visiting will be at Charlet Funeral Home, Inc. in Zachary on Friday, march 23, 2012 from 5pm until 8pm with a 7pm Service. Inurnment will be in Rose Memorial Park Cemetery in Hammond. She is survived by her children, Connie R. Powell and husband, Rocky, Denham Springs; Tony E. Rosa and wife, Debbie, Hondo, TX; Duke Falcon and wife, Jan, California and Sybil Johnson and husband, Chuck, Baton Rouge. A brother, Maxie H. Leet and wife, Mary Nell, Baker; a sister in law, Mary Lee Rosa Bernard. 6 grandchildren, Sgt. Jarrod Trosclair and wife, Pam; El Paso, TX; Nicole Montgomery and husband, Chuck, Baton Rouge; Synomen Hebert and husband, Brett, Baton Rouge; David Courtney, Jr. and wife, Stacey, Denham Springs; Chris Rosa, Hondo TX; and Marki Cashio, Denham Springs. 4 great grandchildren, and 2 step grand children and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, VE Leet, Sr. and Mary Dedon Leet, husband of 53 years, Samuel S. Rosa; sisters, Marie Elizabeth Neal, Mable Irene Arnold Neal; Emma Ophelia Worsham, Vivian Eva Shirey; brothers, Alfred Wade Leet, John S. Leet and VE Leet, Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be David Courtney, Jr., Chuck Montgomery, Jarrod Trosclair, Brett Hebert and Chris Rosa. Special thanks to Hospice of Baton Rouge and especially Florence, Denise, Kathy and "My Friend" Diann.

Jesse Lee Fudge
(October 13, 1945 - March 21, 2012)

Fudge, Jesse Lee, 66, a beloved husband and father went to be with the Lord on March 21, 2012. Jesse will be eternally remembered for his softly spoken words and his kind gentle heart. He was a resident of Zachary, LA and native of Centreville, MS. He was a Lab Tech retiring from Tembec Papermill and currently employed with KPAQ Industries, LLC. Visiting will be at Charlet Funeral Home, Inc., Zachary, on Friday, March 23, 2012 from 8:30 am until service time at 10:00 am conducted by Pastor Jason Miller. Burial will be in Jackson Cemetery, Jackson. Jesse is survived by the loves of his life which he fondly called "His Girls", Valerie Ramagos Fudge, his adoring wife of 32 years and his loving daughter Jessica Fudge, Brothers, Bobbye N. Fudge and wife Patricia and Joe A. Fudge and wife Ellen and a brother in Law Rob Lea and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Dell Allen Fudge, mother, Katie Lee Weaver Fudge, sister, Mary Lea, Brother, John Wayne Fudge. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations to Charlet Funeral Home.

Ronald James Firmin "Ronnie"
(June 13, 1988 - March 16, 2012)

A resident of Zachary, he died Friday, March 16, 2012 in an automobile accident in Barton County, Kansas. He was 23 years old. Visiting will be at Zachary United Methodist Church on Wednesday, March 21, 2012 from 6pm until 9pm and continues on Thursday, March 22, 2012 from 9am until service at 11am conducted by Dr. Greg Davis. Burial will be in Azalea Rest Cemetery, Zachary. He is survived by his mother, Lulu Firmin and father, Roy Firmin; sisters, Randi Firmin and Samantha Firmin; grandparents, Larry Rankin, Roy and Debbie Firmin and Jimmy and Judy Jenkins; great-grandmother, Dorothy Firmin; his extended family, the Carbo's and the Revels. His beloved cat, Tyson. He is preceded in death by his grandmother, Patsy Rankin; great-grandparents, Bud and Vicki Rankin and Ralph and Agnes Sims and Jimmie Firmin. Honorary pallbearers will be T.J. Rankin and Cody Tucker. Ronnie had a generous heart and loved animals. Memorial donations may be made to Charlet Funeral Home, Inc. PO Box 287, Clinton, LA 70722.

James W Pokojski
(Died March 18, 2012)

A resident of Clinton, LA, native of Buffalo, NY, he passed away at his home Sunday, March 18, 2012, at the age of 78. Survived by his wife, Carolyn, two daughters, 4 step-children, one sister, one brother, grandchildren, nieces, nephews and numerous friends. He loved his flowers and his little red sports car. Preceded in death by his parents and two brothers. A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 31, 2012 at 10 am at St. Andrew's Church, Clinton, LA.

John Wilfred Wells
(December 15, 1923 - March 19, 2012)

John Wilfred Wells Sr., a native of Greensburg and a resident of Harvest Manor Nursing Home in Denham Springs, died Monday, March 19, 2012, at the age of 88. Visitation will be at Grangeville Baptist Church on Wednesday, March 21, 2012, from 10 a.m. until service time at 11 a.m. Interment will be in the Grangeville Baptist Church Cemetery. A reception for family and friends will follow in the youth building. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Susie Harrison Wells; two daughters, and sons-in-law, Dorothy (Penny) and Joseph McCrossen, of Madisonville, and Linda and Ronnie Allen, of Walker; son, Jessie (J.J.) Wells, of Sterlington. He is also survived by a daughter-in-law, Jackie Wells, of Greensburg; two sisters, Ruby Wells McKee, of Greensburg, and Marie Wells Fabre, of Metairie; 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Lora and Jessie Wells; brother, Charles Wells; sisters, Daisy Wells Lorentzen and Louise Well Totorich; son, John W. Wells Jr.; and a great-granddaughter, Harley Melvin.
