Bart Lee Sharp, a retired janitor for the St. Tammany Parish School Board, died Thursday at St. Tammany Parish Hospital. He was 78. Mr. Sharp was born in Bush and lived in Covington for many years. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of Sharp's Chapel Church of God. Survivors include his wife, Audrey Galloway Sharp; two sons, James Lee and Terry Dean Sharp; two daughters, Sally Sharp Cordell and Betty Smith; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A funeral will be held today at 11 a.m. at Schoen Funeral Home, 1414 S. Tyler St. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Burial will be in Barker-McManus cemetery.

BRADLEY, MILDRED W.

Mildred W. Bradley, a former department manager for Maison Blanche Department Stores and a homemaker, died Saturday at Northshore Living Center. She was 86. Mrs. Bradley was born in Paris, Miss., and lived in Slidell for the past five years. Survivors include a son, Robert E. Bradley Jr.; a brother, Rex Webb of Minneapolis, Minn.; a sister, Madine W. Trusty of Memphis, Tenn.; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held Tuesday at noon at Garden of Memories, 4800 Airline Drive, Metairie. Visitation will be today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Honaker Funeral Home, 1751 Gause Blvd. West, Slidell.

HEINSZ, OTTO J.

Otto J. Heinsz, a retired employee of Kaiser Aluminum, died Saturday of cancer at Memorial Medical Center. He was 71. Mr. Heinsz was born in New Orleans and lived in Arabi for the past 43 years. He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War and a member of the Kaiser Retirees Club. Survivors include a son, Mark J. Heinsz; two daughters, Beverly H. Moore and Susie H. DeArmond; and five grandchildren. A funeral will be held today at 1:30 p.m. at St. Bernard Memorial Funeral Home, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Burial will be private.

PLANT, VELMA JOHANNA

Velma Johanna Plant, a homemaker, died Tuesday at Walthall County General Hospital in Tylertown, Miss. She was 86. Mrs. Plant was born in New Orleans and lived in Tylertown for the past few years. Survivors include two sons, William Plant Jr. of Denver and Ronald J. Hirdes Sr.; a sister, June Conaway; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. A funeral will be held today at 2 p.m. at Hartman-Hughes Funeral Home in Tylertown. Visitation will begin at noon. Burial will be in Enon cemetery.

WILLIAMS, LILLIAN

Lillian Williams, a homemaker, died Tuesday at her home. She was 86. Ms. Williams was born in Patterson and lived in New Orleans for the past 75 years. Survivors include a son, Reginald Eugene Williams; four daughters, Gwendolyn W. Shepherd, Patricia W. Eggins, Rosalyn W. Tripps and Brenda Woods; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. A funeral will be held Sunday at 7 p.m. at Ephesus Seventh Day Adventist Church, 2400 Delachaise St. Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. Dismissal will be Monday at 10 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in Providence Memorial Park. D.W. Rhodes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

BONDIO, EMILE P.

Emile P. Bondio, a retired machinist and master craftsman for Joseph Meraux Foundry and Machine Works, died Saturday at Pendleton Memorial Methodist Hospital. He was 90. Mr. Bondio was a lifelong resident of New Orleans. He was a parishioner of Resurrection of Our Lord Church. He was a master craftsman and charter member of St. Roch Booster Club. He was a member of the St. Bernard Majors bowling league. Survivors include a son, Lloyd A. Bradshaw Sr.; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. A Mass will be said Tuesday at 11 a.m. at All Faiths Funeral Home, 5200 Canal Blvd. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Burial will be in Greenwood Mausoleum.

MIMS, ANTHONY ‘TONY'

Anthony "Tony" Mims, a New Orleans civil sheriff's deputy, died Thursday of an aneurysm at Tulane Medical Center. He was 46. Mr. Mims was a lifelong resident of New Orleans. He was a graduate of Fortier High School and attended Delgado Community College. He sang with and served as president of the group Sa'Vey, which played at the Treasure Chest and Boomtown casinos and traveled to Japan in 1997. Survivors include his mother, Pearl Mims; three brothers, William and Johnny Mims and Albert "Jack" Mims Jr.; and a sister, Penny Young. A funeral will be held today at 10 a.m. at Christian Unity Baptist Church, 1700 Conti St. Visitation will begin at 8 a.m. A graveside service will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at Providence Memorial Park, 8200 Airline Drive. D.W. Rhodes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

PAYNE, PERCY III

Percy Payne III, a barber, died Oct. 23 at his home of a gunshot wound. He was 33. Mr. Payne was born in Bogalusa and lived in New Orleans for the past 30 years. He was a graduate of George Washington Carver High School. He was a member of Greater St. Stephen Full Gospel Baptist Church. Survivors include his companion, Lori Howard; three sons, Shateek and Terell Nobbles and Lil Percy Cole; two daughters, Angel and Andrea Clark; his father, Percy Payne Jr.; his mother, Rosemary Magee; and two sisters, Veronica Recasner and Pamela R.M. Domino. Services are private. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Park. Tilly's Funeral Home handled arrangements.

VALLIANT, MARGUERITE MOORE

Marguerite Moore Valliant, a homemaker, died Oct. 22 at Forest Manor Nursing Home in Covington. She was 87. Mrs. Valliant was born in Woodville, Miss., and lived in Folsom for many years. Survivors include two sons, Carl Michael Valliant and James Valliant Jr.; a sister, Allethia Rish; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. A memorial service will be held today at 10:30 a.m. at Christ Episcopal Church, 120 S. New Hampshire St., Covington. E.J. Fielding Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

ROCCA, JEROME JOHN LA

Jerome John La Rocca, who was self-employed in the demolition industry, died Tuesday at his home. He was 78. Mr. La Rocca was born in New Orleans and lived in Folsom for the past 30 years. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and was a member of American Legion Post 16 and VFW Post 7286. Survivors include two sons, Dennis La Rocca of Abita Springs and Jerome R. La Rocca; two sisters, Anna Mae Anderson and Mary Giamanco; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. A funeral will be held today at 1 p.m. at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Ave., Covington. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens.

MELANCON, LOUISE CETOLIA

Louise Cetolia Melancon, a retired bank teller for Hibernia National Bank, died Wednesday at Metropolitan Hospice. She was 81. Mrs. Melancon was born in New Orleans and lived in Chalmette for the past 40 years. She graduated from Sophie B. Wright High School. She was a parishioner of and Eucharistic minister at St. Mark Catholic Church and a member of its Altar Society. She was awarded the St. Louis Medallion for her activity in St. Mark Church. Survivors include her husband, Clark Melancon; a son, Mark Melancon; and two grandchildren. A Mass will be said today at 12:30 p.m. at St. Mark Catholic Church, 3024 Charles Drive in Chalmette. Visitation will begin at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in St. Louis cemetery No. 3. St. Bernard Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

ROUX, STANLEY JOSEPH

Stanley Joseph Roux, a retired supervisor at Exxon Corp., died Thursday at Ochsner Foundation Hospital. He was 88. Mr. Roux was born in New Orleans and lived in Metairie for the past 50 years. He was a graduate of Delgado Trade School. He had been a Junior Achievement adviser for Humble Oil and Refinery Co., and had served as an usher at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife, Carmel Sanarens Roux; four sons, Stanley J. Roux Jr. and Louis J., Thomas J., and Robert J. Roux; a daughter, Sandra R. Crosby; a brother, Gustave L. Roux Jr.; two sisters, Lorraine R. MacMahon and Beverly R. Roux; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandson. A Mass will be said today at 1 p.m. at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Lake Lawn Mausoleum.
