RICKY DALE MAGOON, SR.
Medway - Ricky Dale Magoon Sr., 51 died April 30 2008, at a Lincoln Hospital after a long and courageous battle with colon cancer. He was a young man with a strong heart and a stronger will to live. He put up a hard and exhausting fight right up until the end.
He was the husband and soulmate of Wendy S. "Deedee" Magoon. Deedee is an RN who helped and cared for him for the last 7 months of his life. He was diagnosed in 2004 and never began having pain until the spring of 2007. He tolerated it well up until around Christmas time, then his pain began to enhance. He resided with his wife and stepson, Nicholas Ryan Chase until April 17 when hospice recommended he enter the hospital for pain management. They said "just for a few days" but Deedee knew he wouldn’t be back home. He was born April 16, 1957 the only son of Harry and Mary Magoon of Lincoln. He grew up in Mattawamkeag where he attended school and Zion Penecostal Church.

Ricky worked for Great Northern Paper Co. for many years. Then he began working other various jobs. He was very creative and imaginative. He built furniture and various other wooden pieces. Ricky loved Harley Davidsons, he owned and rode them for several years. He went on many long trips with his friends and first wife. Ricky loved music. He played the guitar & saxophone and had a gift to sing but never liked to admit it. Then his passion became boating. He owned a 22 foot long cabin boat in which he spent much of his time on. He’d drop the anchor whenever and where ever he found a beautiful place to spend a few days. His last boat ride was last fall with Deedee in October when the foliage was beautiful. He dropped the anchor near the "old singing bridge" in Medway on a full moon night where they spent the night. It was absolutely beautiful with the moon glistening on the water, and the sound of the water gently splashing up against the side of the boat. This will be one of Deedee’s dearest memories.
He had another passion; his family, children and grandchildren whom he loved very much. Ricky had too many friends to count and seemed like every where he went he’d meet up with a friend or make a new one. Ricky had a sense of humor and loved to laugh and make other people laugh.

Ricky rededicated his life to the Lord in January and knew he had a place in heaven awaiting him, a place where he’d have no more pain and could finally have peace. Ricky loved the Lord, and was a kind and considerate man who touched many lives.
