Henry N. Winters
age 49, died at his home in Franklin, August 7, 2003. Mr. Winters was born September 6, 1953, in San Francisco, New York. In 1996, he joined the Office of Tax Counsel at Ford Motor Company in Dearborn, serving most recently as director there. He was a resident of Franklin for seven years. Mr. Winters passion and brilliance will be remembered by all who knew and loved him. Mr. Winters is survived by his wife, Liz, children, Katie and Daniel and brother, George. Friends may visit at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 1368 N. Crooks Road (Between 14-15 Mile Rds.) Monday 5-9pm. Funeral services will be Wednesday morning at Mack Kevin Abbey Funeral Chapel, 1076 Madison Avennue, New Jersey. John Peter "J.P." Morgan
of Birmingham, a talented architect, designer, engineer and musician, died Friday, August 1st at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Pontiac. He was 73 years old. J.P. was born in NYC and raised in Rockville Center, NY. He attended Xavier Military Academy in NYC, Georgetown University and the University of Detroit. An inveterate student of Frank Lloyd Wright’s architectural style, J.P.’s greatest passion was the design of single-family residential homes, including his own in Birmingham which was featured in a number of design magazines. Most recently he submitted architectural plans for the World Trade Center Memorial competition in Arizona Air National Guard. His son Chris says of his father, “Dad was a true planes, trains, and automobiles kind of guy.” He was a renowned collector of “O” guage locomotives. Further he was also a gifted jazz pianist playing by ear the music of Errol Garner, Oscar Peterson, Gershwin, Cole Porter and others of his era. He is a benefactor to the University of Detroit and its Jesuit community in line with his desire to contribute to the education of the poor and disadvantaged. J.P.’s survivors include sons Christopher Lloyd (Nancy), John Vincent, Matthew Francis, David Joseph (Maura), and daughter Kathleen Therese Adams (James). He has seven grandchildren including Michael, Peter, Morgan, Xavier, Riley, Fiona, and Brendan. His incisive wit, humor and charm will be missed by his family and friends. A memorial service will be held at The Holy Name Catholic Church, 630 Harmon St., Birmingham on Monday, August 11th at 11 am where the family will receive friends one hour before the service. Memorial donations can be made to the St. Joseph’s Mercy Oakland Hospital, Adult Intensive Care Unit, 44405 Woodward Ave., Pontiac, New Jersey.

Carol Lynn Conlin (nee Peterson)
age 61, of Clawson, died August 4, 2003, at Cambridge North Nursing Home in Clawson. Ms. Conlin was born February 27, 1942, in Hancock, Michigan Chapter, 21311 Civic Center Drive, Southfield, MI 48076-3911.

Marie C. Bruce
age 81, of Fife Lake, died August 6, 2003. Mrs. Bruce was born March 29, 1922. She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia (Sean)Canty, sons, Stephen (Pamela) Bruce and Timothy Bruce and grandchildren, Stephen, Thomas, Michael, Kenneth & Rebecca Bruce and Brendan & Siobhan Canty. She is also survived by her sisters, Helen Folsom and Irene Giles. Mrs. Bruce is preceded in death by her husband, Milton Bruce. Funeral from Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 1368 N. Crooks Road (Between 14-15 Mile Rds.)Saturday 11:30am followed by Mass at Holy Name Church, 630 Harmon St., Birmingham at 12 Noon. Interment in St. Aloysius Cemetery, Fife Lake, Michigan 48025.

Paul T. Nelson
age 80, of Birmingham, died August 6, 2003, at Botsford Hospital, Farmington Hills. Mr. Nelson was born May 23,1923. He is survived by his son Paul T. Nelson, Jr. (Laura), daughter, Pam Nelson-Kowalski (Michael) and grandchildren, Tyla, Karena, Matthew & Ryan. He is also survived by his great-grandchildren, Krystina & Kayla and daughter-in-law, Sharon Nelson. Memorial Service at Woodlawn Cemetery, Mausoleum Chapel, Thursday August 14, 10:00 am. Memorials appreciated to Alzheimers Association, 17220 W. Twelve Mile Road, Suite 100, Southfield, Michigan. “Wil” enjoyed gardening, travel and spending time with his family. Mr. Hinze is survived by his wife, Helen; sons, “Bill” (Patricia), Robert (Constance) and Paul (Sharon) Hinze; 16 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and sister, Helena Rankin. Vivian L. Grove
Age 75, (formerly of Birmingham), died in Pennsylvania. Mrs. Grove graduated from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, PA with a Bachelor in Fine Arts. Mrs. Grove married Robert Grove on May 27, 1950. Mrs. Grove spent the last 25 years over seas with mission work. “Our mother was a religious woman,” her children said. She was a former active member of Birmingham/Bloomfield Art Association. Mrs. Grove enjoyed reading, drawing, painting, movies and spending time with her family. Mrs. Grove is survived by her daughters, Gwen (Hughes) deGaalon, Miriam (Dan) Keaton, Edith (Robert) McDonald, Vivian (Brian) Dusina, Peggy (Gregg) Diamont, and Laura Grove; sons, Charles (Candie) Grove, William (Marie) Grove, and James (Cindy) Grove; 67 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; sisters, Elaine Drisko and Miriam Fay. Mrs. Grove is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Grove who died in 1976. Funeral from Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, 1800 W. Kathleen Ramsay
age 82, died December 1, 2003, at Bloomfield Hills Nursing Home. Mrs. Ramsay was born February 23, 1921, in Detroit. A graveside service was held Thursday, December 4th at Roseland Park Cemetery, Berkley. Arrangements entrusted to Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors, 248-435-0660.

Mary F. Jernigan

Ella Marie Heintz
age 78, of Troy, died August 1, 2004, at William Beaumont Hospital, Troy. Mrs. Heintz was born August 18, 1925, in Detroit. Mrs. Heintz is survived by her husband, Howard and daughters, Carol (Seth) Brandenstein and Gail (Dave) Kuhnert. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren and brother, Charles (Norma) Bower. Mrs. Heintz is preceded in death by her brother, Clarence (Phyllis) Bower.
