Elmer Wolfzorn, created furniture

Elmer Wolfzorn could turn out anything from coffee tables to complete dining room sets in his home woodworking shop.

"He enjoyed a challenge, " said his son, David Wolfzorn of Erlanger. "People would come to him with a project, and he would make it."

Most prized by the family is an oak baby bed used by four of his grandchildren.

"It's sturdy as can be. He built it to last, ' said his son.

Mr. Wolfzorn, 72, of Highland Heights, died Monday at St. Luke Hospital East in Fort Thomas.

He was a cabinet maker for Manual Arts Furniture Co. in Cincinnati. After retirement, he turned to making crafts and toys.

Mr. Wolfzorn was an Army veteran of the Korean War. His first wife, Angela Wolfzorn, died in 1984. His second wife, Dolores Wolfzorn, died Aug. 21, 2001.

Other survivors include another son, Steve Wolfzorn of Erlanger; daughters, Nancy Leften and Cheryl Wolfzorn, both of Erlanger; stepdaughters, Judy Heeg of Newport, Kathy Schneider of Cold Spring and Diane McGaha of Florence; stepsons, Jim Weyman of Alexandria and John Weyman of Elsmere; brothers, Earl Wolfzorn of Erlanger and Robert Wolfzorn of Alexandria; sisters, Dolores Ritter of Southgate, Rita Ruschman of Newport, Ruth Sweeney of Bellevue, Jeanette Kramer of Cold Spring and Vera Ritter of Melbourne; six grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Church, Cold Spring. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Dobbling Funeral Home, Fort Thomas. Memorials are suggested to American Cancer Society, 6612 Dixie Highway, Suite 2A, Florence, Ky. 41042 or to Trooper Island Boys Camp, in care of Kentucky State Police, 4265 U.S. 25, Dry Ridge, Ky. 41035.

Raymond Adkins, 97, of Highland Heights, died at 5:50 p.m. Tuesday at St. Luke Hospital East, Fort Thomas.

Arrangements are pending at Hamilton-Stanley Funeral Home, Verona.

Jeyvenna M. Bauer, 63, of Florence, died at 9:45 p.m. Monday at St. Luke Hospital West, Florence. She was a legal secretary.

Survivors include her husband, Don Bauer; a son, James Goodman of Taylor Mill; daughters, Rhonda Livingood of Florence and Kimberlee Stephen of Elsmere; and seven grandchildren.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday at St. Agnes Church, Fort Wright. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Catchen Funeral Home, Elsmere. Burial will be in Mother of God Cemetery, Fort Wright. Memorials are suggested to American Diabetes Association, 721 W. Main St., Louisville, Ky. 40202.

Robert W. Berberich, 80, of Villa Hills, died at 11:40 p.m. Monday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood.

He was the founder and owner of Spati Industries, Ludlow, and a member of St. Joseph Church, Crescent Springs.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth Deters Berberich of Villa Hills; daughters, Lynn Cottrill of Detroit, Donna Eastlake of Sardinia, Ohio, Ruthie Bessler of Villa Hills, Paula Chal of Fort Mitchell and Diane Berberich of Covington; sons, Joe Berberich of Edgewood, Bob Berberich and Jim Berberich, both of Covington; sisters, Thelma Mosier of Covington and Sister Ann William Berberich, O.P., of Denver; a brother, Greg Berberich of Latonia; 15 grandchildren and four step-grandchildren.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Church, Crescent Springs. Visitation will be from 3:30 to 6:45 p.m. Thursday at the church. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Fort Mitchell. Memorials are suggested to Catholic Relief Services, P. O. Box 17090, Baltimore, Md. 21203-7090. Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home, Covington, is handling arrangements.

Sandra Dooley Burch, 52, of Covington, died at 11:05 p.m. Friday at St. Elizabeth Hospice Unit, Covington. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband, Jack Burch; brothers, Walter Dooley of Covington, Stephen Dooley of Cincinnati and Robert Dooley of Long Beach, Calif.; and sisters, Joyce Price of Flemingsburg, Mary Warren of Covington and Susan Harris of Ludlow.

Services will be at the convenience of the family. Memorials are suggested to St. Elizabeth Hospice Unit, 401 E. 20th St., Covington, Ky. 41014; or American Lung Association, 11113 Kenwood Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45242. Catchen Funeral Home, Covington, is handling arrangements.

Bobby Noble Ellis, 63, of Carrollton, died Monday at Jewish Hospital, Louisville. He was a retired truck driver for Madison Wholesale Warehouse, and a member of First Baptist Church of Carrollton and Clifty Creek Saddle Club. He was a National Guard veteran. His wife, Patricia Ellis, died in 2000.

Survivors include a daughter, Melanie Watson of Campbellsburg; sons, Barry Todd Ellis and Christopher El lis, both of Carrollton; a sister, Shirley Hunter of Port Royal; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home, Carrollton. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 tonight at the funeral home. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery, Carrollton.

Ruth Catherine Simmons Fisk, 80, of Taylor Mill, died Tuesday at St. Elizabeth Hospice Unit, Covington.

Arrangements are pending at Connley Brothers Funeral Home, Latonia.

John Garrett, 80, of Foster, died Tuesday at Meadowview Regional Medical Center, Maysville. He was a retired employee of Columbia Gas Co., Mount Olivet, and an Army veteran of World War II. A son, Clinton Garrett, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Jennie Lou Mason Garrett; daughters, Betty Milner of Berry and Shirley Etler of Utica, Ohio; seven grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Metcalfe-Hennessey Funeral Home, Augusta. Visitation will begin there at noon Thursday. Burial will be in Lenoxburg Cemetery, Bracken County. Memorials are suggested to Hospice of Hope, 1 W. McDonald Parkway, Maysville, Ky. 41056.

Deborah A. Gore, 46, of Ludlow, died Tuesday at St. Elizabeth Hospice Unit, Covington.

Louise Harsin, 80, of Warsaw, died Tuesday at Gallatin County Health Care Center, Warsaw. She was a retired employee of Levi Strauss and a member of Ten Mile Baptist Church, Glencoe. Her husband, Ralph Harsin, died in 1987. A son, Larry Harsin, died in 1962.

Survivors include a son, Arthur Harsin of Verona; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Carlton-Lowder Funeral Home, Warsaw. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 tonight at the funeral home. Burial will be in Napoleon Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to American Cancer Society, 6612 Dixie Highway, Suite 2A, Florence, Ky. 41042.

Kenneth Robert Ketterer, 55, of Dry Ridge, died Saturday at Mercy Anderson Hospital, Cincinnati. He was owner of K&K; Construction Co., Dayton.

Survivors include a daughter, Christina Ketterer of Nicholas County; sons, Kem Ketterer of Dry Ridge and Ken Ketterer of Cynthiana; a brother, Donald Ketterer of Dayton; sisters, Nancy Freeman and Erma Smith, both of Dayton, and Charlene Kidwell of Newport; and five grandchildren.

Private services will be at the convenience of the family. Dobbling Funeral Home, Bellevue, is handling arrangements.

Almina Lustik, 84, of Fort Thomas, died Tuesday at Carmel Manor Nursing Home, Fort Thomas. She was a homemaker. Her husband, Ronald Lustik, died in 1998.

Survivors include a son, Ronald Lustik of Foster; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 2 p.m. Friday at St. Augustine Church, Augusta. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday at Metcalfe- Hennessey Funeral Home, Augusta. Burial will be in St. Augustine Cemetery, Augusta.

Ralph McDonald, 56, of Florence, died at 5:25 a.m. Tuesday at St. Elizabeth Hospice Unit, Covington. He was a safety supervisor with Airteck Chemical and an Army veteran.

Survivors include a daughter, Laurie Howard of Union; sons, Steven McDonald of Florence, Chris McDonald of Independence and Brian McDonald of Latonia; a sister, A. C. McDonald Jr. of Fort Thomas; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary Mausoleum Chapel, Fort Mitchell. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Fort Mitchell. Catchen Funeral Home, Elsmere, is handling arrangements.

Rev. Frank L. Reece, 75, of Villa Hills, died Monday at his home.

Geneva Runge, 85, of Malabar, Fla., formerly of Constance, died Sunday in Malabar. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband, Earl M. Runge; a son, Bob Runge of York, S.C.; sisters, Elizabeth Cotton of Melbourne Beach, Fla., and Evelyn Prabel of Union; two grandsons and one great-grandchild.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Ronald B. Jones Funeral Home, Ludlow. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Hebron Lutheran Cemetery.

Rachel Anna Elizabeth Sharon, 85, of Independence, died Tuesday at Lakeside Nursing Center, Highland Heights. She was a homemaker and a member of Independence Christian Church. Her husband, John Sharon, died in 1994. A son, Herbie Sharon, died in 1998.

Survivors include a daughter, Ann Riley of Independence; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, Independence. Visitation will begin there at 11 a.m. Friday. Burial will be in Independence Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Florence Baptist Church, 283 Main St., Florence, Ky. 41042.

Linda Grant Smith, 53, of Brandon, Fla., died Monday at Health South Rehabilitation Hospital in Sarasota, Fla. She was a laboratory director with Manatee Memorial Hospital in Bradenton, Fla., and a member of New Bethel Baptist Church, Verona.

Survivors include a son, James Grant Smith of Walton; and her parents, Floyd M. and Wilma Bruner Grant of Walton.

Graveside services will be at 2 a.m. Thursday at New Bethel Cemetery, Verona. Memorials are suggested to New Bethel Baptist Church, 2022 Verona Mudlick Road, Verona, Ky. 41092. Hamilton-Stanley Funeral Home, Verona, is handling arrangements.

Ervin G. Snodgrass, 38, of Independence, died Monday at St. Luke Hospital West, Florence.

He was a heavy equipment operator for John R. Coppage Inc.

Survivors include his wife, Tammy Snodgrass; daughters, Sara Christline Snodgrass and Brittany LeAnn Snodgrass, both at home; his mother, Virginia Snodgrass of Independence; and sisters, Teresa Snodgrass Reynolds, Sandy Snodgrass and Carolyn Anderson, all of Dry Ridge, and Tina Snodgrass Wilzbach of Verona.

James Leroy Stohr, 22, of Covington, died at 12:52 a.m. Sunday at Meadowview Regional Medical Center, Maysville.

He was an oil technician with Penske.

Survivors include his parents, Steve and Katherine Stohr of Covington; brothers, Tommy Boles of Greenfield, Ohio, Timmy Boles of Maysville and Stevie Stohr of Covington; and grandparents, Arthur Morgan of Coving ton and Nancy Conner of Covington.

Alma Sydnor, 92, of Grant County and formerly of Falmouth, died today at Grant Manor Nursing Home, Williamstowm.

Ann Lee Barone Wedmore, 87, of Louisville, formerly of Fort Thomas, died at 1:30 a.m. Tuesday at Norton Health Care, Louisville. She was a homemaker. Her husband, Irvin J. Wedmore, died in 1976.

Survivors include a daughter, Deanna Pelfrey of Louisville; sisters, Katherine Rampella, Lee Zimmer and Alvina Brinkmann, all of Cincinnati, Elizabeth Haley of Miami, Fla., and Norma Taylor of Fort Thomas; brothers, Michael Barone of Newport and Richard Barone of Houston; and a granddaughter.
