Raymond B. Mersch, butcher

Raymond B. Mersch passed along a lesson in cordiality to his son, Mike.

"I walked about three blocks with him, and we must have passed 10 or 15 people. He said 'hello' to all of them. He told me it was a gesture which cost nothing and meant a great dea l to people," said the younger Mersch, of Bradenton, Fla.

Mr. Mersch was a retired butcher who worked in Covington groceries and later with Fedders Meat Market in Crescent Springs.
