Hamilton, Fred Everett Sr
Fred E. HAMILTON
Fred E. Hamilton of 1204 East Hickory street and until a few months ago engaged in the grocery business in Vandalia, died at 8:45 o'clock Monday night at St. Mary's hospital. He would have been forty-three years old next week. His death followed an operation for a ruptured appendix.
Mr. Hamilton was born in Fayette county Oct. 10, 1886, and most of his life was spent in that neighborhood. He was engaged in the grocery business in Vandalia for a number of years and was well known there. He came to Decatur five months ago from Vandalia. He was a member of the Presbyterian church in Loogootee. He was also a member of the Odd Fellows lodge and the Modern Woodman camp. He is survuved by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles E. Hamilton of Vandalia, and the following children:
Mrs. H.A. Smith, Darrelle, Rochelle, Charles, Myron, Richard, Fred, Jr., and Francis Hamilton, all of Vandalia. He also leaves the following sisters and brothers: Emma E. Hamilton of 2069 Wood street,
Corda E. Schwarm and Carrie E. Bledsoe, both of Johnson City; Della E. Ladd of Ketesport, Pa.;
Ray E. Hamilton of St. Louis, Mrs. Zola E Lewis of East St. Louis and Clyde E. Hamilton of Alma.
The body was taken to Dawson & Wikoff funeral directors, and prepared for burial.

Osceola MAHON Hamilton
Mrs. Fred E. (Osceola Mahon) Hamilton, 89, died noon in Fayette County Nursing Home, Vandalia. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday in First Baptist Church, Vandalia. Visitation will be 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Miller Funeral Home, Vandalia. Burial will be in Old Loogootee Cemetery.
Mrs. Hamilton was born in Fayette County, daughter of Henry and Elvira Mahon. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Vandalia, and American Legion Auxiliary, Vandalia. She married
Fred E. Hamilton in 1907. He died in 1929.
Surviving are sons, Myron of Panama City, Fla.; Richard, Fred, and Charles, all of Vandalia; daughters, Mrs. Harry (Helen) Smith and Rochelle, both of Vandalia; Mrs. Stanley (Frances) Wolff of Centralia; 19 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren. Three children and six brothers preceeded her in death.

Mrs. Estella Williams Succumbs Thursday
Mrs. Estella Williams. 58, died at her home in Brownstown, at 8:45 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 2. She had been In failing health for four years. Daughter of Lewis Hendrickson and Alda Mahon Hendrickson, she was born In Otego township, April 17, 1902 and had lived in Brownstown 41 years.
Estella was united In marriage with Harvey Williams, May 10, 1919 in Vandalln. She had lived practically all her life in the community of their late home. She had held membership in the Christian Church, the Royal Neighbors of America Camp 1518, and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, all of Brownstown.
In addition to her husband. She leaves sons. Kenneth of St. Elmo. Route 1; Lewis and John Orville. both of Brownstown: Jimmie Lee of Harlingen, Texas; sister, Mrs. Kate Henna of Brownstown and other relatives Including eight grandchildren. Three brothers are deceased. Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m., Sunday in the Brownstown Christian Church, with Rev. Thomas Ewald of Brownstown. officiant. Burial in Maplewood cemetery, St. Elmo. Claggett Funeral Home, Brownstown, In charge.

John Hendrickson Suddenly Dies at Brownstown
The community was saddened early Wednesday morning of Jan. 15 by the sudden death of John Hendrickson. He became ill at 3 a.m. and called his wife. She called a doctor and everything was done that human hands could do, but to no avail He grew steadily worse and passed away at 6 a.m.
It was known that he wasn't in the best of health, but since he was able to be on duty every day where he worked, his passing proved a great shock to the community. John had been a trusted employee of the Dycus Oil Company for 20 years, serving the patrons in his courteous way which won for him a host of friends. He was of a quiet nature. Interested in his home, the church and community. He was very active In the Fireman's organization and everything for the building up of the community and made friends with all whom he came in contact he will be sadly missed from the home. the church and the community where his entire life was lived.
Brief life sketch John Lewis, son of Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Hendrickson was born South of Brownstown, March 30, 1908 and passed away at his home in Brownstown. Jan. 15. at the age of 38 years, 9 months and 15 days.
On September 23. 1933. he was united in marriage with Miss Grace Lanus of this place. To this union one son was born. About two years ago he confessed faith in Christ and placed his membership with the local Christian church where he remained a faithful member. He leaves the widow, a son, Eddie Steve, and two sisters, Mrs. Estella Williams and Mrs. Katharyn Henna of Brownstown. many other relatives and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers. Ralph died in infancy and Dewey, 17 years ago last June.
Funeral services were conducted at 1 p. m. Friday In the Christian church by the pastor, Rev. H. G. Kaye. Interment in Maplewood cemetery, St. Elmo.

Obituary
Holt, Sarah Elizabeth
Sarah, daughter of John and Elizabeth Holt, was born in Foster township July 12, 1847, and departed this life, after a lingering illness of several years, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Lizzie Atkins, May 1, 1927, at the age of 79 years, 9 months and 19 days.
She was converted in girlhood at a meeting held at Sandy Branch and united with the Presbyterian Church at North Fork, where she was always a faithful member.
She was married
to Lemuel Jackson Lansford, June 19, 1864. To this union 15 children were born, nine of whom have preceded her to the Great Beyond. Mr. Lansford departed this life March 11, 1893. She was later married
to John Bratcher on Oct. 31, 1896.
She is survived by her husband and the following children: Mrs. Ella Garrett of Monte Vista, Colorado; Mrs. Lizzie Atkins of Kinmundy; Mrs. Tillie Hammers, Mrs. Bertha Robb, and Mrs. Cliffie Gillespie, all of Decatur; one son, Monroe Lansford of Alma; one brother, Deb Holt of Oklahoma.
Besides 28 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren, she leaves a host of relatives and friends.

And bade thee suddenly removed,
To thy complete reward.
The funeral services were held from the R.M. Atkins residence at 10 o'clock Tuesday morning,
Rev. E. Grey Wininger officiating.
Interment was made in the Holt Cemetery.

E. Marie Rine

E. Marie Rine, 90, formerly of Bertha Avenue, Clyde, died Sunday at Arbors at Clyde.
She was born in Seneca County's Adams Township to John A. and Mary (Sparks) Hopple, She attended Adams Township School, Metzgar School and graduated from Republic High School in 1929.
She married
Alvin Rine Dec. 15, 1937, and he died in September 1967.
A homemaker, Mrs. Rine also worked at Unitex Manufacturing in Attica and Tiffin and Howard Zink Co. in Fremont.
She was a member of Republic United Church of Christ.
She is survived by nieces and nephews.
Sisters Hattie Baldosser and Clare DeWitt Hopple and brother Earl Hopple are deceased.
Services: 1 p.m. Wednesday, Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, Clyde.
Visitation: Begins one hour before the services Wednesday at the funeral home.
Burial: St. Jacobs Cemetery, Adams Township.
