George W. Logan
GREENUP, Ky. - George W. Logan, 72, of Tygart Valley died Tuesday in Scioto Memorial Hospital at Portsmouth.
Logan taught in Greenup County until ill health forced him to retire.
Surviving are his wife, the former Doris Duncan; two brothers, Marshall of Greenup and Elwood of Kehoe; a half-brother, Blaine of Warnock, and four sisters, Mrs. C. C. Kotcamp of Wheelersburg, Mrs. John Frazee of Kehoe, Mrs. Nellie Adkins of San Fernando, Calif., and Mrs. Bill Harris of Carey.
Funeral services are to be conducted Friday at 2 p.m. at Kehoe Nazarene Church with Rev. Dudley Morton officiating. Burial is to be in Kehoe Cemetery.
Friends may call at Riggs Funeral Home in Greenup.

Logan
Gilbert (Gib) Logan, 69, of Portsmouth, died Friday at Scioto Memorial Hospital.
A native of Greenup County, Ky., he was retired from the Williams Mfg. Co. engineering department after 40 years service and was a Marine Corps veteran of World War II. He was a member of Coles Blvd., United Methodist Church and James Dickey Post American Legion.
Surviving are his wife, Murle Hopper Logan; a daughter, Linda Routt of Wheelersburg, three brothers, Homard Logan of Portsmouth, Bruce Logan of Reedsville, N. C. and Dale Logan of St. Petersburg, Fla.; two sisters, Avanell Howard of Spring Hill, Fla., and Jacqueline Hager of Lorain and three grandchildren.
Services are planned at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Windel-Howland & Brant Funeral Home, with Rev. John Robbins officiating, and Interment in Memorial Burial Park after military rites by James Dickey Post.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 tonight, and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. The family's favorite charity is the church memorial fund.

Mrs. Gladys Logan
Greenup, Ky. - Mrs. Gladys Plummer Floyd Logan, 75, of Warnock, died at 7:40 p.m. Thursday at home.
A native of Greenup County and a member of Lost Creek Baptist Church, she is survived by four sons, Ray E. Floyd of Ashland, and James R. Floyd, William N. Logan, and Forrest G. Logan, all of Greenup; a daughter, Mrs. Anna Lois Patton of Ashland; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Ida Kemper of Grayson and Mrs. Ethel Burgess of Portsmouth, Ohio; two brothers, Olus Plummer of Middletown, Ohio and Vernon Plummer of Alburn, Ind.; a sister, Mrs. Violet Tilghman of Moore Haven, Fla.; 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services are to be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Antioch Christina Church, under direction of Riggs Funeral Home with Rev. Elmo Sturgill officiating. Burial is to be in Hall cemetery at Warnock.
Friends may call at the residence after 11 a.m. Saturday. The body is to be moved to the church one hour before services.

Herbert Logan
Vanceburg, Ky. - Services for Herbert Logan, 77, of Vanceburg, who died Tuesday morning, are to be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at Vanceburg Church of God.
A native of Greenup County and a retired farmer, he is survived by his wife, Nellie Sparks Logan; tow sons, Herbert Logan Jr. of Toledo, Ohio, and Arthur Logan of Detroit, Mich.; four daughters, Mrs. Hazel Willis, Mrs. Virginia McKinney and Mrs. Louis Hobbs, all of Vanceburg, and Mrs. Annie Cameron of Galion, Ohio; two brothers, Hiram of Sciotoville, Ohio and Leslie (sic., Eslie) of West Portsmouth, Ohio, three half brothers and three half sisters; 22 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Services are to be directed by the Plummer Funeral Home in Vanceburg, with Rev. Frank Scott officiating. Burial is to be in Evans cemetery in Vanceburg. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 tonight.

Logan
Homard Logan, 78, of Portsmouth, died Monday at Scioto Memorial Hospital following an apparent heart attack.
A native of Gaylord, Mich., he was retired from the rod and wire department of the former Empire-Detroit Steel Corp. with 40 years service, and was an Apostolic and a member of the United Steel Workers Local.
Surviving are his wife, Delores Austin Logan; two sons, Gary Logan and Marvin Logan, both of Portsmouth; a foster son Gary Hill of Columbus; two daughters, Bronna Seibert of Portsmouth and Ellen Webb of Ashville; two brothers, Clinton Dale Logan of Florida and Bruce Logan of North Carolina; two sisters, Avanelle Howard of Vanceburg, Ky., and Jacqueline Hager of Amherst; 22 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Service is 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Windel-Howland & Brant Funeral Home, with the Rev. Stephen Piercy officiating, and interment in Memorial Burial Park.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday.

Homer Logan, 87
Homer Logan, 87, of Tollesboro (Ky.) Route 1, died Thursday, Sept. 18, 1997, at home.
Born April 2, 1910, in Fitch, Ky., a son of the late James Logan and Pearl Edington Logan he was a member of the Tollesboro United Methodist Church and had been a member of the St. Mary's Masonic Lodge of Tollesboro for more than 50 years. He owned and operated several service stations in Tollesboro and Aberdeen areas, owned and operated the Eareheart Ashland Service Station, Logan and Ashland Service Station, Logan and Son Texaco Service Station and Logan and Son Ashland Service Station. He retired from the Blue Ash (Ohio) National Guard Armory with 11 years of service and was a farmer.
Surviving are his wife, Helen Turner Hull Logan; two sons Leroy Logan of Winter Haven, Fla., and Kenneth Logan of Flemingsburg, Ky.; two stepsons, Phillip Ray Hull of Vanceburg, Ky., and Larry Gene Hull of Tollesboro; three daughters, Genevieve Highfield of Maysville, Ky., Shirley Jordan of Vanceburg and Barbara Thomas of Tollesboro, three brothers, Carl Logan of Emerson, Ky., Paul Logan of Vanceburg (Ky.) Paul Logan of Vanceburg (Ky.) Route 1 and Noah Logan of Flemingsburg, four sisters Zelma Hamilton of Orlando Fla., Mary Fox of Charlotte, N.C., Genyth Solem of Northville, Mich., and Geraldine Fields of Vanceburg, Route 1; 16 grandchildren; 7 stepgrandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and five stepgreat-grandchildren.
He also was preceded in death by his first wife, Lorene May Logan, March 12, 1990, and a brother Claude Logan.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Tollesboro United Methodist Church with the Rev. Donald Tipton and the Rev. Timothy Peek officiating, and interment in Hamilton-Mawk cemetery at Tar Fork, Ky.
Friends may call at Dickerson Funeral Home in Vanceburg from 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday, and at the church from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Monday. Masonic service will be held at 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Hubert Logan
Hubert Logan, 83, of Load, Ky., died Wednesday, Nov. 28, 1990, at a Bellefonte, Ky., hospital.
Born Oct. 27, 1907, in Alba, Mich., a son of the late John and Naura Traylor Logan, he was a retired farmer, an Army veteran of World War II, and a member of Load Christian Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Louise Marsahall Logan; two brothers, Clifford Logan of Load; and four sisters, Ruth Osborne of South Shore, Ky., Eunice Skeens of Delaware, Ohio, Opal Littleton of Columbus, and Octavia Kegley of Ashley.
Service will be held 1 p.m. Friday at the church, with the Rev. Henderson Morris officiating and interment in Nichols cemetery at Load.
Friends may call after 6 p.m. Thursday at J. B. Wright Funeral Home in Greenup, Ky., and an hour before the service on Friday at the church.

Logan
Irene Turner Logan, 68, of Strafford, Mo., died Thursday after a long illness at a hospital in Springfield, Mo.
A native of Buena Vista, she was a former Portsmouth resident.
Survivors include her husband, Walter, three sons, William and Doyle, both of Strafford, and Frank of Pomona, Calif.; two daughters, Carolyn McKnight of Norco, Calif., and Marilyn Hoskinson of Marshfield, Mo.; two brothers, Chester Turner of Seymour, Mo., and Elmer Turner of Macminville; and two sisters, Georgia Shively of Portsmouth and Eve Easter of Friendship; 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Service is planned at 10 a.m. Monday at Berean Baptist Church in Springfield, Mo., with burial in Greenlawn Cemetery.

Jack Logan
Vanceburg, Ky - Services for Jack Logan, 53, of the Laurel Point Community, Vanceburg Rt. 1, who died Saturday at home following an apparent heart attack, are to be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Dickerson Funeral Home here.
A native of Lewis County, he was an employe of White Lumber Co., in Morehead.
He is survived by his wife, Jessie Bloomfield Logan; two sons, Gene and Clyde, both of Vanceburg Rt. 1; six daughters, Mrs. Geneva Lewis and Mrs. Fern Moore, both of Camp Dix, Mrs. Christie Elliott of Kissimmee, Fla., Mrs. Sue Butler of Vanceburg Rt. 1, and Buleah and Jackie Lynn, both at home; three brothers, Lester of Carthage, Ind., Homer of Camp Dix, and Fleming of Continental, Ohio; four sisters, Mrs. Irene Mawk of Bluntsville, Ind., and five grandchildren.
Rev. Julian Hammond is to officiate at services, with burial in Bald Point cemetery at Fitch.
Friends may call at the funeral home.

Wellston, -- James A. Logan, 63, of Grove City, Formerly of Wellston, died Thursday at a Grove City hospital.
A Greenup County, Ky., native, he is survived by his mother, Lottie McFarland Holsinger of Portsmouth, two brothers, Millard H. of Wellston and Garland S. of Rosemond, Calif., and two sisters, Amy Harper of Columbus and Marie Affleck of Columbus, Ga.
Services are planned at 2 p.m. Saturday at Pennington Funeral Home in New Boston, with burial in Vernon Township Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 to 9 p.m. today.

James Logan
The remains of James Logan, the Civil war veteran who passed away at his home at Fullerton Tuesday night, were shipped to Garrison, Ky., Thursday morning. Services over the body will be conducted at the Thomas cemetery at Montgomery, Friday with interment in the Logan lot.
The pioneer Kentuckian was 72 years of age when tuberculosis claimed his life. He was a native of Greenup county, and resided in Fullerton for the past two months. Five years ago his wife preceded him to the Great Beyond, but three sons and one daughter survive. They are Charles, Donald (sic.) and Abraham and Mrs. Ella Kelley, wife of John Kelley, all of Fullerton.
[The Thomas cemetery is actually Granny Thomas cemetery and Donald must be John Henry Logan, son of James and Margaret June (Densmore) Logan]

James Logan, 68, Carpenter.
James Alfred Logan, 68, of Garrison, KY, died Friday, April 4, 1997, at the home of Charles Clark of Garrison.
Born Aug. 17, 1928 in Greenup Co., KY, a son of the late Frank Logan and Rebecca Chaffin Logan McCleese, he was a World War II Army veteran, a retired carpenter with Carpenters Local Union and of the Christian faith.
Surviving are two sons, James F. Logan of Stout and Gary R. Logan of Piketon; two brothers Marvin Logan of Homestead, Fla., and Clyde of Mansfield; two sisters, Lillian Lytten and Elizabeth Billings, both of New Boston; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He also was preceded by his stepfather, Martin McCleese; two brothers, Oran and Orville Logan; and two sisters, Evelyn Adams and Sybil Smith.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Dickerson Funeral Home in Vanceburg, Ky., with the Rev. Clarence Hall officiating, and interment in Logan cemetery at Leatherwood, Ky.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday and from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday.
