Marjorie Stine, tough, gracious and refined

Marjorie L. Miller Stine of Fort Thomas had a strong backbone and a warm heart.

"She was very kind and always went out of her way to make people feel welcome. She was a very loving woman with a will to live life to its fullest."

In her later years, Mrs. Stine battled cancer and heart problems.

She was past president of the Fort Thomas Garden Club, a member of the Cosmopolitan Club of Fort Thomas and a member of the Christopher Gist Historical Society.

"She loved people, " said Mrs. Stine's daughter, Winifred Stine of Fort Thomas. "One of her friends described her as 'a really great lady from the old school.'

"She knew what she liked and had high standards. But she wasn't pretentious or arrogant. She enjoyed entertaining and being around people."

For more than 30 years, Mrs. Stine hosted a Christmas party at her home that was attended by several hundred people.

"My mother loved companionship and festivities, " said her son. "She loved seeing people have fun. She was a very loving person and taught her children to be respectful and kind."
