S. Todd Trusso, 37, third-year law student

S. Todd Trusso, 37, of Independence, a supervising senior investigator with the U.S. Department of Labor, died Wednesday of heart problems at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South in Edgewood.

He was in his third year of law school at the Salmon P. Chase College of Law at Northern Kentucky University, where he was on the dean's list.

Mr. Trusso earned a bachelor's degree from the University of New Orleans and a master's degree from Wright State University, graduating summa cum laude from both universities.

"He had planned to become a lawyer and run for public office in a few years, " said Mr. Trusso's wife, Diana Trusso.

"He was a wonderful person with a strong personal ethic. He believed there is a right and there is a wrong with no shades of gray. He said, 'There is never a right way to do a wrong thing.'"

Mrs. Trusso said her husband was very focused.

"If he saw something that needed to be done, he did it, " she said. "If he saw a wrong, he tried to right it. He never wavered."

Mr. Trusso was a member of Immanuel United Methodist Church.

Other survivors include daughters, Amy Vanover of Florence, Carrie Richard of Lawton, Okla., and Madison Trusso and Lily Trusso, both of Independence; his parents, S. Bud and Patricia Ann Trusso of Mandeville, La.; a sister, P. Valerie Davila-Trusso of Mandeville; and grandmothers, Mary Trusso and Lillie Moorhead, both of Cambridge, Ohio.

Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Immanuel United Methodist Church. Visitation will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday at Linnemann Funeral Home, Erlanger. Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association, 2936 Vernon Place, Cincinnati, Ohio 45219.

Carolyn Anderson, 42, of Dry Ridge, died Thursday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center Grant County, Williamstown.

Arrangements are pending at Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home, Crittenden.

Martha Burton, 88, of Florence, died at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday in her daughter's home in Florence. She was a retired meat department worker with Albers Grocery Store and a member of First Church of God, Florence.

Survivors include her husband, Carl Burton; a daughter, Brenda Turner of Florence; a sister, Fannie Wira of Newport; a brother, Rice Clark of Parksville; a grandchild and a great-grandchild.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Radel Funeral Home, Highland Heights. Visitation will begin there at 9 a.m. Saturday. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Southgate. Memorials are suggested to the charity of the donor's choice.

Grace "Singing Grace" Bennett, 75, of Newport, died Thursday at St. Luke Hospital East in Fort Thomas.

Survivors include her husband, Ovie Bennett of Newport; daughters, Bernice Casebolt, Patricia Newton and Melonie Bennett all of Newport; Brenda Simpson of Cincinnati and Donna Poynter of Milford, Ohio; sons, David Bennett of Cincinnati and Douglas Bennett of Newport; sisters, Dorothy McClanahan of Newport and Martha Simms of Sparta; brother, Jack Powell of Carrollton; 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Fares J. Radel Funeral Home, Newport. Visitation will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Greenlawn Cemetery, Milford, Ohio.

Memorials are suggested to Deliverance House of Prayer, 3488 Henrietta Ave., Cincinnati, Ohio 45204.

Karli A. Garcia, 18 days, daughter of Carrie Garcia of Park Hills and Brandon Johnson of Covington, died at 7:39 a.m. Wednesday at St. Luke Hospital West, Florence.

Other survivors include sisters, Chelsee Evans and Kyleigh Evans, both of Park Hills; grandmother, Ruby Garcia of Erlanger; and great-grandmothers, Ora Gray of Carrollton and Juanita Garcia of Brackettville, Texas.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Highland cemetery Chapel, Fort Mitchell. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. Connley Brothers Funeral Home, Latonia, is handling arrangements.

Georgia A. Herrington, 89, of Hebron, died at 3:30 a.m. Tuesday at Northern Kentucky Care and Rehabilitation Center, Highland Heights. She was a homemaker. Her husband, Edgar Herrington, died in 1991.

Survivors include sons, Edgar Herrington Jr. of Hebron and Robert E. Herrington of Ludlow; a daughter, Mary Servizzi of Cincinnati; nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home, Hebron. Visitation will begin there at 10 a.m. Saturday. Burial will be in Hebron Lutheran Cemetery.

Sylvester K. Johnson, 84, of Fort Mitchell, died at 2:20 p.m. Monday at Villaspring Care Center, Erlanger. He was a district sales manager with L&N; Railroad and a member of Traffic Club of Pittsburgh.

Survivors include his wife, Teresita Foltz Johnson; sons, Mark A. Johnson of Baltimore and William S. Johnson of Malpon, N.J.; and four grandchildren.

Mass of Christian burial was this morning at Blessed Sacrament Church, Fort Mitchell. Entombment will be in Mother of God Mausoleum, Fort Wright. Memorials are suggested to Diocesan Catholic Children's Home, P.O. Box 17007, Fort Mitchell, Ky. 41017; or a charity of the donor's choice. Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home, Covington, is handling arrangements.

Estelle Jean Kloentrup, 69, of Fort Wright, died at 7:28 p.m. Tuesday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood. She was a retired payroll supervisor with William Powell Co., Cincinnati. Her husband, James R. Kloentrup, died in 1989.

Survivors include a son, Scott Kloentrup of Latonia; a daughter, Tamara Wilke of Erlanger; a sister, Deanna Bailey of Tennessee; and three grandchildren.

Services will be at 7:30 tonight at Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home, Covington. Visitation will begin there at 5 p.m. Burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary Cemetery, Fort Mitchell. Memorials are suggested to American Cancer Society, 6612 Dixie Highway, Suite 2A, Florence, Ky. 41042.

Claire Virginia Lambert, 78, of Florence, died at 2:10 p.m. Wednesday at St. Luke Hospital West, Florence. She was owner of Lambert's Book Store in Sarasota, Fla., and an employee of Davison Pharmacy in Sarasota. She was an active volunteer with St. Luke Hospital West. Her husband, Raoul A. Lambert, preceded her in death.

Survivors include sons, Richard Lambert of Florence and Kenneth Lambert of Columbus, Ohio; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Allison and Rose Funeral Home, Taylor Mill. Visitation will begin there at 6 p.m. Saturday. Memorials are suggested to Arthritis Foundation, 7811 Laurel Ave., Cincinnati, Ohio 45243.

Helen Elizabeth McCormick, 90, of Erlanger, died Wednesday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood.

She was a clerk typist with Naval Ordnance Station in Louisville and a member of Immanuel United Methodist Church in Lakeside Park and Lamplighters Club. Her husband, John Dean McCormick, preceded her in death.

Survivors include a son, John Robert McCormick of Fort Myers, Fla.; a sister, Eloise K. Parr of Villa Hills; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 9 a.m. Saturday at Linnemann Funeral Home, Erlanger. Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 8:30 tonight at the funeral home. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Brownstown, Ind. Memorials are suggested to American Cancer Society, 6612 Dixie Highway, Suite 2A, Florence, Ky. 41042.

Raymond O'Banion Plummer Jr., 69, of Vanceburg, died Wednesday at his home. He was a self-employed truck driver.

Survivors include his wife, Frances Ann Hamilton Plummer; sons, Raymond O'Banion Plummer III, LeRoy Plummer and Tony Hamilton, all of Mason County, and Buddy Hamilton of Fleming County; daughters, Martha Plummer Parks and Diana Hamilton, both of Maysville, and Lillie Plummer Monroe of Lewis County; sisters, Lillie Howe of Maysville and Christinia Chamberlain of Covington; 27 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Brell Funeral Home, Maysville.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 tonight at the funeral home. Burial will be in Black Oak Cemetery, Vanceburg.

Glenn E. Robbins, 76, of Florence, died Wednesday at St. Luke Hospital West, Florence. He was an air traffic controller at Lunken Airport, Cincinnati, and a member of Delta Ambassadors. His wife, Mary Robbins, died in 1998.

Survivors include daughters, Jacqueline Cramer, Sandra DeMaria and Candace Frohlich, all of Union; sons, Guy Robbins of Burlington and Robin Robbins of Raleigh, N.C.; a sister, Betty Nichols of Honeoye Falls, N.Y.; a brother, Lee Robbins of Honeoye Falls; and nine grandchildren.

Services will be at 6 p.m. Saturday at Stith Funeral Home, Florence.

Visitation will begin there at 4 p.m. Saturday. Cremation will be at Baxter Cremation Co., Cincinnati.

Edna Claypool Sisson, 75, of Ludlow, died at 2:58 a.m. Tuesday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood. She was a retired sales clerk with Dollar Shoe Co., Covington.

Her husbands, Joseph H. Claypool and Jess R. Sisson, both preceded her in death.

Survivors include a daughter, Ruby Jewell Toles of Deer Park, Ohio; sons, Joseph H. Claypool and Julius R. Claypool, both of New Port Richey, Fla., Ross E. Claypool of Florence, Larry Claypool of Milford, Ohio, and Jess Sisson of Ludlow; 16 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home, Ludlow.

Visitation will begin there at 9 a.m. Saturday.

Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Fort Mitchell.

Loraine Meder Tenkotte, 89, of Covington, died at 4:20 a.m. Thursday at Woodspoint Nursing Home, Florence. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Augustine Church, Covington.

Survivors include a stepson, Harry F. Tenkotte of Park Hills; three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Augustine Church. Visitation will be from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home, Covington. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, St. Bernard, Ohio. Memorials are suggested to the charity of the donor's choice.

Harry Louis Thomas, 69, of Melbourne, died Wednesday at his home. He was a machinist with General Electric, Cincinnati, and a member of St. Phillip Church in Melbourne and Northern Kentucky Right to Life.

Survivors include his wife, Jo-Anne Thomas of Melbourne; daughters, Carolyn Roesel of Amelia, Ohio, Kathy Thomas of Melbourne and Ginny Thomas of Bellevue; sons, David Thomas and Russell Thomas, both of Melbourne, Harry Thomas Jr. and Jeff Thomas, both of Ludlow, and Joe Thomas of Florence; sisters, Della Eten of Alexandria and Sister Virginia Marie Thomas of Versailles; and eight grandchildren.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Philip Church, Melbourne.

Visitation will be from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Monday at Dobbling Funeral Home, Fort Thomas.

Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Wilder.

Joseph Francis Weiler, 79, of Fort Thomas, died Wednesday at Veterans Administration Hospital, Fort Thomas. He was a statistician with Great American Insurance Co. and an Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Lunne Weiler of Milwaukee; a son, Joseph Weiler of Santa Barbara, Calif.; a daughter, Christine Tyriver of Milwaukee; a brother, Henry F. Weiler of Carson City, Nev.; two grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Agnes Church, Fort Wright.

Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, St. Bernard, Ohio.
