Rev. Arnold Tiefel

Rev. Arnold Tiefel age 92 of Lake Crystal Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Mankato with Rev. Paul Nolting officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday. A graveside committal will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, March 14, 2008 at St. John Lutheran death by his parents; first wife, Grete Tiefel; two brothers, Victor and Fred; and a sister, Gertrude.

Ernest Frederick

Ernest A. “Bub” Frederick, age 76 of Madison Lake, Cemetery in Madison Lake. Visitation will be from 4–8 p.m. with a 4 p.m. prayer service Wednesday at Mankato Mortuary. Visitation will also be held one hour before the service on Thursday at the church. Memorials may be given to the Calvary born April 9, 1931 to Ernest and Agnes (Hoehn) Frederick Sr. in Mankato, Minnesota. He was united in marriage to Elaine Olsen on November 10, 1951 at All Saints Catholic Church in Madison Lake. Ernest served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict from 1952-1953. He returned to the Madison Lake Area and worked as a Tile Setter for numerous tile and terrazzo companies in the area. Ernest was a member of All Saints Catholic Church, American Legion Post # 269 of Madison Lake where he was a former commander, and the international bricklayer's association local #1. He was the former fire chief, city council member and manager of the Town Pump for Madison Lake. Ernest enjoyed his family, traveling to spring training games, the Minnesota Twins, and enjoyed eating out especially at Applebee's in Mankato.

He is survived by six children, Cindy (Bob) Joyce of Janesville, Pam (Doug) Stanke of Kasson, Doreen Frederick of Janesville, Bruce (Diane) Frederick of Paradise Valley, AZ, Brad (Jill) Frederick of Janesville, Brian (Carla) Frederick of North Mankato; 12 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; 7 sisters, Margaret Schlingman, Phyllis Eder, Lorraine Davis, Lucille Doran, Marcella (Joe) Baker, Dorothy (Lawrence) Biehn, Grace (Chum) Bohr; three brothers, James (Mary) Frederick, Olley (Mary) Frederick and Willard Frederick; sister-in-law, Joyce Grothe; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Ernest was preceded in died Monday, March 10, 2008 at his home in Mapleton.

Cemetery, rural Good Thunder. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m., Thursday, March 13, at Mankato Mortuary and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.Memorials are preferred to ISJ Hospice program, Redeemer Lutheran Church, or to an organization of the donor's choice.

Dennis was death by his parents.

Kenneth W. Bosacker

Kenneth W. Bosacker, age 78 of Waseca fell asleep in the Lord on Saturday, March 8, 2008 at Homestead Hospice in Owatonna.

married Arlene E. Raedeke on September 3, 1950. They made their home in Owatonna where he worked at Owatonna Tool and did carpentry work. Ken and Arlene then moved to Waterville where he began his career at Brown Printing Company in Waseca in 1954. They moved to Waseca in 1957 and made it their lifetime residence. Ken retired from Bemis Ink, a division of Brown Printing in 1991. He enjoyed gardening, especially roses, hunting, fishing, woodworking, antiques, and attending all of his children and grandchildren’s activities. He was an active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Waseca throughout his life. Ken was happiest when surrounded by his family.

He is survived by four daughters, Rhonda (Joe) Burke and Deborah (Mark) Pehrson all of Waseca, Brenda (Jim) Walker of Ramsey, and Melinda (Steve) Baker of Carver; 14 grandchildren; and 18 great grandchildren. He is also survived by one brother, Fritz (Myrna) Bosacker of Owatonna; four sisters, Marjorie Belden of Eau Claire, WI, Hazel Neumann of Owatonna, Olive Schuller of Waseca, and Inez Fluke of Faribault; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in Cemetery in Le Sueur County.

Lillie (Jenkins) Holbrook

Lillie (Jenkins) Holbrook, age 91, formerly of Minnesota Lake, born on January 21, 1917 in the middle of a blizzard on a farm in Bancroft, IA to Amos G. and Alice (Cutler) Jenkins. The doctor couldn’t make it with his horse and buggy but I came anyway. My family came to the Lake Crystal, MN area in 1920. I faintly remember riding in the back of a wagon and watching the live stock trail behind. We lived on different farms around Lake Crystal until 1930, when we moved to town. I married Dean Holbrook in 1964 and we moved to Walla Walla, WA in 1966. I worked at St. Mary’s Hospital, cardiac care unit for 12 years. Dean death by her parents; husbands Milton Smith and Dean Holbrook; four brothers; five sisters; step-son-in-law Lloyd Mann; grandson Tony Smith; and great-grandson Dennis Ryan Muhlenbruch.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the local food shelf or the Mayo Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center: Northwest Clinic, 662 Building Rochester, MN.

Elenora M. Hawker

Elenora Marie Hawker, age 89, of St. Clair, Funeral service will be 11:00a.m., Tuesday, March 11, 2008 at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in St. Clair. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. on Monday at Mankato Mortuary and will continue one hour prior to the service at church on Tuesday. Burial will be in the church born August 23, 1918 in McPherson Township, Blue Earth County. She was the daughter of Frank and Marie (Holtz) Maass. She was a 1935 graduate of Pemberton High School. On June 2, 1937, she was united in marriage to Alvin Hawker at Medo Lutheran Church. They farmed in Blue Earth County for many years. Elenora worked at various jobs in St. Clair and was a homemaker for her family. Elenora was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in St. Clair where she was a Sunday school teacher and member of the ladies aid. She enjoyed playing cards and having coffee with her friends.

Elenora is survived by her four children, Marian (Jerry) Westphal of Welcome, Darlene (David) Terhurne of Mankato, Dale Hawker of St. Clair, Laurie (Randy) Cords of Mankato; 7 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; two sisters- in-laws, Frieda Westphal of Mankato and Sally Hawker of Lake Crystal; brother-in-law, Lyle (Lilla) Hawker of Mankato; nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Elenora was preceded in died on Thursday, March 6, 2008 at the St. Lucas Care Center, Faribault.

Graveside services will be held on Monday, March 10, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. in the Woodlawn born on May 26, 1933 in Richland County, Wisconsin. She death in 1983. She was formerly employed by River Hills Mall and McDonald's both of Mankato. Betty enjoyed her family and traveling.

She is survived by two sons, Patrick (and Lori) McLaughlin of Faribault and Micheal (and Mary) McLaughlin of Luverne; six grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and one sister, Patricia (and Raymond) Fawcett of Winona.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Dave. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given to the family in care of the funeral home.
