Doris Jean Duncan, age 68, of Bosworth, Missouri passed away Thursday, April 3, 2003 at Carroll County Memorial Hospital, Carrollton, Missouri.
She was born June 14, 1934 at Dean Lake, Missouri the daughter of Alvin E. and Dorothy Price King. She attended schools at Dean Lake and Triplett, Missouri.
On November 3, 1979 she married Russell J. Duncan in Carrollton, Missouri. He survives at the home. Doris Jean was a housewife and mother. She attended the Christian Church.
Doris Jean is also survived by three children; Barbara Jean Connors, Raytown, Missouri, Alan Lee Garrison, Jefferson City, Missouri and Thomas Alvin Garrison, Waldron, Arkansas; one sister, Joan Cummings, Sedalia, Missouri; two brothers, Morris Hugh King, Belton, Missouri and Douglas Alvin King, Norborne, Missouri; thirteen grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, William Joseph Garrison; one daughter, Vickie Pinkepank; one grandson, Maxwell Scott Jackson; and one nephew, Bradley King, son of Morris and Bonnita King.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m., Monday, April 7, 2003 at Gibson Funeral Home, Bosworth, Missouri with Reverend Lanny Lybarger officiating. Burial will be in Wharton Cemetery, Bosworth, Missouri.
Visitation is from 12:30 to 1:15 p.m., before the service.

Dale L. Atterbury, age 62, of Carrollton, Missouri, passed away Thursday, April 3, 2003 at Ray County Memorial Hospital, Richmond, Missouri.
Dale was born February 9, 1941 in Brunswick, Missouri; the son of Emerald Victor and Juanita Leola Enyeart Atterbury.
The family had lived in Brunswick, MO, Marshall, MO, and moved to Carrollton in 1960;where Dale graduated from Carrollton High School.
Dale was employed with his father by Orscheln Truck Lines for many years and later worked as a deliveryman for Wadill Lumber, Snyder Truck Lines, and McGrew Enterprises.
He was a Baptist.
Dale is survived by several cousins and an uncle.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Gary Lee Atterbury.
Dale was cremated and Memorial Graveside Services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, April 12, 2003 at the Oak Hill Cemetery, Carrollton, Missouri, with the Reverend Bert Hughes officiating.
The family suggests contributions to the American Heart Association in memory of Mr. Atterbury and they may be left at or mailed to the Gibson Funeral Home, 201 South Main, Carrollton, Missouri 64633.

Janice Lynne Kuhler Plummer, age 59, of Kansas City, Missouri and formerly of Keytesville, Missouri passed away at her home Friday, April 4, 2003. She was born November 11, 1943 in Brunswick, Missouri the daughter of William W. and Virginia M. Tate Kuhler. She was a graduate of Keytesville High School and had been a homemaker. She was a member of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church at Grandview, Missouri. She is survived by one daughter, Buffi Goring, Ballwin, Missouri; her father, William Woodward Kuhler, Keytesville, Missouri; two brothers, Gary Bill Kuhler, Keytesville, Missouri, Michael Kirt Kuhler, Waverly, Missouri; three sisters, Sandra Sue Butler, Kansas City, Missouri, Dee Anne Buennig, Bowling Green, Ohio and Sydne Darlene Kuhler, Marshall, Missouri; one grandson, Maxwell Goring. She was preceded in death by her mother. Funeral services will be held at St. John's Lutheran Church, Brunswick, Missouri on Wednesday, April 9, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Glen Drewitz officiating. Cremation following. Visitation will be at the Gibson Funeral Home, Brunswick, Missouri on Tuesday, from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to the St. John's Lutheran Church, Brunswick, Missouri. Neva Elizabeth Ponitz, age 87, of Brunswick, Missouri, passed away Monday, April 14, 2003 at Brunswick Nursing Home, Brunswick, Missouri. She was born on August 28, 1915 in Brunswick, Missouri the daughter of Cyrus and Nellie Gordon Garvin. She was a retired Public School Teacher having taught at schools in California and Missouri, including the Brunswick School District. She was a member of the Brunswick United Methodist Church, the National Educators Association, California Retired Teachers Association, National Retired Teachers Association and a member of the Davis Foggin Club since returning to Brunswick in 1975. Neva is survived by several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Charles Ponitz, in 1949; her parents, four brothers and two sisters. Memorial services will be held at the Brunswick Nursing home on Wednesday, April 23, 2003 at 10:00 a.m., with Reverend Phyllis Anderson officiating. Memorials may be made to the Brunswick United Methodist Church. Cremation arrangements by Gibson Funeral Home, Brunswick, Missouri.

Edna Ellis, age 88, of Dover, Missouri passed away Sunday, April 13, 2003 at North Kansas City Hospital, Kansas City, Missouri.
She was born December 15, 1914 in Waverly, Missouri the daughter of Cecil O. and Ada Jane McKee Foose. She attended Hazel Hill School.
In 1945 Edna married Anthony Ellis in Lexington, Missouri. He preceded her in death in 1989. She was a member of the Waverly Christian Church, Waverly, Missouri. She was the Bookkeeper for Ellis Bus Service.
She is survived by one sister, Betty Williams, Gravois Mills, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Nelson, Orval and Herman Foose; two sisters, Wilma Ebersold and Ruby Campbell.
Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, April 17, 2003 at the Waverly Christian Church, Waverly, Missouri with Reverend Mike Koch officiating. Burial was in Waverly Cemetery, Waverly, Missouri.

Mrs. Alma A. Moentmann, 94, of Norborne, Missouri, passed away Friday, April 18, 2003, at Shirkey Leisure Acres in Richmond, Missouri.
Alma was born January 16, 1909 in Carroll County, Missouri; the daughter of William Deitrich
(Dick) and Anna W. Knehens Thate.
She attended Norborne Grade and High School and received a teaching certificate from Central Missouri State University.
Alma was married to Werner H. Moentmann in June of 1932 in Norborne, Missouri; he preceded her in death on June 17, 1972.
She taught at Fairview Rural School near Norborne for many years starting at the age of 19. She was the Postmaster of Norborne from 1953 until 1961.
Alma was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, Norborne, MO and a Chapter Sponsor for Beta Lambda Chapter, Beta Sigma Phi Sorority of Norborne, MO. A lifelong bridge player, she was an ACBL member.
Survivors include two sons, Dwain Thate (Bud) Moentmann and wife, Holly and Werner Allen Moentmann and wife, Sharon, both of Richmond, Missouri; six grandchildren, Col. James Eric Moentmann, U.S. Army, Korea, Jennifer Kiwus, Brussells, Belgium, Lane McFarren, Olathe, Kansas, Kevin Moentmann, St. Louis, Missouri, Amy Robison, LaGrange, Kentucky, and Kimberly Adams, Clinton, Missouri; and fourteen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, William Thate and Victor Thate and two sisters, Alvina Strathmann and Louise Riske.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 21, 2003, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Norborne, Missouri, with Pastor Kim Scharff officiating.
The family will receive family and friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. just prior to services at the church.
Burial will be in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Norborne, Missouri.

Mabel E. (Bell) Laycock, age 90, passed away April 18, 2003 at Greens At Creekside Nursing Home. The funeral will be held at Gibson Funeral Home in Carrollton, Missouri, Wednesday, April 23, 2003 at 1:30 p.m., with Pastor Robert V. Bell officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Carrollton, Missouri.
Mabel was born in DeWitt, Missouri June 12, 1912 to Anna Mae and William Ogan. She was a life-long member of the Church of Christ. She had been a seamstress at Stanford's Laundry in Carrollton, Missouri. She is survived by two sons, Bill Bell and wife, Sue, St. Joseph, Missouri, Bob Bell and wife, Jean, Chillicothe, Missouri; two daughters, Kay Roscoe and husband, Karl, Kansas City, Missouri, Sue Finnell, Kansas City, Missouri; nine grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren as well as her Canadian family, Dennis and Darlene Laycock, Ardith and Ron Rothwell and Brenda Laycock; eight step grandchildren and two step great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by daughter Barbara Ann, her first husband William Bell in 1955 and Russell Laycock of Manitoba Canada in 1997 as well as three brothers, James, Woodrow and Wes Ogan and two grandchildren, Wanda Bell and George Brown.

Wilma Estelene (Henderson) Lucas, age 82, of Norborne, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, April 23, 2003 at Hedrick Medical Center, Chillicothe, Missouri. She was born March 13, 1921 in Bosworth, Missouri, the second daughter of John Wilber and Effie Mae McCoy Henderson.
She attended grade schools of the Bosworth community and graduated from the Bosworth High School in 1939. On February 16, 1939 she married Ethan L. Pracht, he predeceased her January 25, 1956. To this union two daughters were born. She leaves her oldest daughter and her husband, Sharon (Pracht) and Jim Bradshaw of Richmond, Missouri; and her daughter Drenda K. (Brown) Pracht of Gaithersburg, Maryland. She also leaves her grandchildren Yvette (Bradshaw) Simpson and her husband Chris of Richmond, Missouri and Mathew K. Brown of New York City. She leaves her only sister, Fern Denker of Carrollton, Missouri and one niece, Judith Ann Staton of Carrollton, Missouri and other relatives and a host of friends.
She accepted Christ as her Savior in November 1936 and became a member of the Baptist faith to which she remained faithful, having taught a Sunday School class many years and at her passing was a member of the First Baptist Church of Norborne.
After the death of her first husband she followed the vocation of Bookkeeper for several businesses. For seventeen years she was a Tax Preparer and was City Treasurer of the City of Norborne for six years.
In 1975 she married Harry E. Lucas who predeceased her in July of 1980.
"This I have tried to be: an obedient child of God, a witness for Christ, and a friend to others."
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m., Friday, April 25, 2003 at Gibson Funeral Home, Carrollton, Missouri with Reverend Jeff Maxwell officiating. Burial will be in Wharton Cemetery, Bosworth, Missouri.
The family suggests contributions be made to the Baptist Home in Chillicothe, Missouri or the Freedom Retirement Community in Norborne, Missouri, in memory of Mrs. Lucas. They may be left at or mailed to Gibson Funeral Home, 201 S Main, Carrollton MO 64633.

Frank Eugene Drehle, age 77, of Norborne, Missouri passed away Monday, May 5, 2003 at his home.
Gene was born August 28, 1925 in Norborne, Missouri the son of John H. and Laverna M. Albrecht Drehle. He attended Norborne Public Schools and graduated from Norborne High School. He was in the United States Navy from October 1943 to April 1946. He served in the Asiatic Pacific Area and received the Victory Medal and two stars for the Philippine Liberation. He attended the Weaver School of Real Estate.
On December 26, 1946 he married Pauline E. Weisz in Norborne, Missouri. He had retired from the Lake City Ammunition Plant in Independence, Missouri, after twenty-five years of service. Gene had been employed by Moentmann Brothers Machinery and Auto Sales; as a driver for Ray-Carroll Co-op Tank Wagon, Richmond, Missouri; and farmed. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Norborne, Missouri; where he had served on the Cemetery Board. He was also a board member of Egypt Township Road District; and a lifetime member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Pence-Lovell-England Post #1773, Carrollton, Missouri.
Gene is survived by his wife of the home; six children, Paul Drehle, Huntsville, Missouri; Carol Homman and husband, Clair, Orrick, Missouri; Richard Drehle and wife, Marti, Tebbetts, Missouri; Jeanette Craig and husband, Randy, Norborne, Missouri; Susan Mohn and husband, Alan, Richmond, Missouri; Cheryl Hogan and husband, Bently, Norborne, Missouri; two brothers, John A. Drehle, Kansas City, Missouri; Larry W. Drehle, Grandview, Missouri; three sisters, Charlene Gieselman, Alma, Missouri; Shirley Kleoppel, Springfield, Missouri; Rose Scanlon, Lee's Summit, Missouri; seven grandchildren; one step grandchild and one great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Jewell Drehle.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 7, 2003 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Norborne, Missouri with Reverend Ken Criqui officiating. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Norborne, Missouri with Military Services performed by Veterans of Foreign Wars Pence-Lovell-England Post #1773, Carrollton, Missouri.
Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 6, 2003 at Gibson Funeral Home, Norborne, Missouri. There will be a Rosary at 8:00 p.m.

Arloa Darlyn Lenz Dankert, age 74, of Brunswick, Missouri passed away Wednesday, May 7, 2003 at her home. She was born March 23, 1929 at Fort Collins, Colorado the daughter of Raymond and Frieda Nau Lenz. She graduated from Boonville High School, Boonville, Missouri, in 1947. She married Victor O. Dankert on February 20, 1949 at Boonville, Missouri. He survives at the home. Vic and Arloa moved to Brunswick, Missouri in 1953 where they operated Dankert's Jewelry and Gift Shop until they retired in 1988. She was a member of the St. John's Lutheran Church at Brunswick where she ahd been an organist for over twenty years, and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Rucker-McAllister Post #7. Arloa had been active in various churcha nd civic organizations. She is also survived by one daughter, Sherry Dankert of Riverside, Missouri, one son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Rhonda Dankert, Brunswick, Missouri; one sister, Raeola Walker, New Franklin, Missouri; one brother, Darrall Lenz, Sedalia, Missouri; and one grandson, Blake Dankert, Brunswick, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Judy Hein. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, May 10, 2003 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Brunswick, Missouri with Pastor Glen Drewitz officiating. Burial will be in Elliott Grove Cemetery, Brunswick, Missouri. Visitation will be 6:30-8:30 p.m., Friday, May 9, 2003 at Gibson Funeral Home, Brunswick, Missouri. The family suggests contributions be made to St. John's Parsonage Fund or to the Pershing Hospice in memory of Mrs. Dankert.
