Helen Jane Haynes Morlan
Helen Jane Haynes Morlan, 86, Stockton, was born on Nov. 6, 1917, in Cedar County the third daughter of Everett and Eliza Shaw Haynes and passed away on Saturday, Oct. 2, 2004, in the Cedar County Memorial Hospital, El Dorado Springs.
On April 6, 1940, she was united in marriage to Albert Herman Morlan in El Dorado Springs. To this union was born one son and four daughters.
Helen was a devoted wife and homemaker. She especially enjoyed quilting and preparing food for each family member. Visits from her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were highlights of her life.
She was a member of the Church of God (Holiness), Stockton serving as treasurer for many years.
After retirement, they moved from Stockton to El Dorado Springs. In 2000, they moved to the Stockton Nursing Home.
Helen was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years; one great-grandson, Clancey Silvers; her parents; and three sisters - Pearl Thomas, Iva Thomas and Lois Chambers.
Survivors include one son, Kenneth Morlan and wife-Betty - El Dorado Springs; four daughters - Kathy Jones, and husband-Jackie - Stockton, Jane Snavely and husband-Duane - Gardner Funeral Home, New Franklin, with Rev. Dan Pritchard officiating.
Interment was in Walnut Grove Cemetery, Boonville, under the direction of Markland-Nevada.

Mozelle Clemmons
Lois Mozelle Clemmons, 71, was born Nov. 5, 1932, the daughter of Betty and Richard C. Odle and passed away on Thursday, Sept. 30, 2004, at Carthage Health and Rehabilitation Center.
She graduated from Montrose High School in 1951.
On Sept. 29, 1951, she married Alex Clemmons of Stockton and enjoyed many happy years on their small farm near Ivy Bridge on Cedar Creek. It was there that they raised their two daughters, Linda and Paige.
Mozelle loved gardening, fishing, raising small animals and cooking.
During the 1960s she wrote many childrens stories that were published in "The Tri-County Heritage." Recently Mozelle co-authored a book about the river area she loved, "Lost Trails and Fall Tales of the Osage."
Mozelle was a member of Filley Christian Church and liked to prepare special dishes for their dinners and celebrations, especially her tator tot casserole.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Alex.
Survivors include her two daughters, Linda Combs - Iowa. Dean and his wife, Anita, have been involved in various local business ventures.
Ora Dean Kennon was born to Ora (Buck) and Flora Baker Kennon on Sept. 7, 1941 in Cedar Springs, MO. Dean enlisted in the Army after graduating from the El Dorado Springs High School. He served most of his tour of duty in Greeley, Alaska. His job was to build roads in the Alaskan wilderness. He loved the assignment because it allowed him time to enjoy fishing in the wilds of Alaska. He finished his tour of duty in California to work for his brother, Dennis, in his demolition business. While, there, he met and married his wife, Anita Louise Haddock on Nov. 27, 1965.
In 1966, Dean and Anita returned home to El Dorado Springs where Dean worked for his brother, Don, later purchasing half of the ready mix concrete business in 1970 and taking over the management. Dean and Don also built and operated the Kennon Auto Parts store for 10 years before selling the business to O'Reilly Automotive.
In 1984, Dean and Anita opened Kennon's Jewelry in Oklahoma city, where she graduated with honors. She was a good student, making high grades throughout school.
Edith was a gentle, caring person whom enjoyed serving others. She gave many hours of volunteer service. She took the Bible literally where it says, "In honor preferring one another."
She was a person with high morals and strong religious convictions. She loved our Lord and spent much time alone.
Survivors include her brother, Woodrow Hardison and his wife, Lucille, of El Dorado Springs; her sister, Ruth Curtis of Belton and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 14, at the Hackleman Chapel with Reverend Raymond Yarnell officiating. Musical selections were provided by Mike and Linda Jamison. Interment was in the Clintonville Cemetery under the direction of the Hackleman and Sons Funeral home. Pallbearers were Gary Hardison, Tom Curtis, Tom Brewer, Leland Trussell, Edward Spencer and Lester Englund.
