Alta Margaret Holmes was death by her parents, three brothers and three sisters.
She is survived by her husband, L.V. Holmes; six children and spouses, Larry V. and Barbara Holmes, Seymour, T. Wayne and Zella Holmes, Battlefield, Robert (Bob) D. and Neyda Holmes, Monett, Donna G. Holmes, Strafford, Dan L. and Diane Holmes, Jonesboro, Ark., and Joseph (Jody) and Montez Holmes, Ozark; 20 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren; many special nieces and nephews; and a large extended family and numerous friends.
Services were at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 19, in the Marshfield Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Brian Letsinger and Rev. John Moles officiating. Cemetery in Marshfield. Visitation was 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava.

Harold Emmett Midcap, the son of Harold E. Midcap Jr. and Eileen (Rios) Gasteiger, was death by his father, Harold E. Midcap Jr.
His survivors include his wife, Christina, of the home, Ava; three children, Ashley Midcap, Gainesville, Meygan Midcap, Las Vegas, Nev., and Harold E. Midcap IV, of the home, Ava; five siblings, Jamie Midcap, Kelly Chapman, of California, Sammy Penland, state of Ohio, John Bond and Richard Bond, the state of California; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services were at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 11, in the Thornfield House of Prayer with the Rev. Stan Collins officiating. Cemetery. Services were under the direction of Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava.
Eva A. Hicks, 88

Eva A. Hicks Born June 18, 1919, Eva Aretta Davenport, she grew up in Ava, Missouri. There she met and passed away suddenly, and several years later on this Easter Sunday morning 2008, Eva born on April 19, 1910, in Squires, Mo., and death by her parents, Isaac and Margaret Brown; husband, Joseph Gary; one sister, Lula Hicks; and five brothers, John, Everett, Clarence, Louis and Glenn.
Velma was a cast member of the traveling Weaver Brothers & Elviry Vaudeville act in the early 1930s. After moving to Chicago, she worked as a sales representative for several cosmetics companies: Elmo Sales, Peggy Sage, Dorothy Gray, DuBarry Division of Warner-Lambert, and Dana Products. In Springfield, Velma was a member of the Abou Ben Adhem-Band Aids, Shrine Ladies Club and Museum of the Ozarks. She also worked as a volunteer for Springfield Meals on Wheels.
Services for Velma were Wednesday, April 2, at 2 p.m. in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, with the Rev. Glen Dale Hartley officiating. Cemetery. Visitation was Wednesday from 1 p.m. to service time in the funeral home. The family requests memorials to the Alzheimers Association.
Christopher Paul Girdner, 22

Christopher Paul Girdner was died on February 11, 2008 in Tallahassee, Fla.
Chris served with the 10th Mountain Division, U.S. Army, from February 2003 until July 2006, including a tour of duty in Afghanistan. At the time of his death by his maternal grandfather, Voyne Brooke, paternal grandparents, Kermit and Leonore Girdner, his Aunt Patty Totzke, and cousin, Austin Brooke.
Survivors include his son, Gunner Joseph, Tallahassee, Fla.; parents, David and Lynne Girdner, Hopkinsville, Ky., and Phyllis Girdner, Windyville, Mo.; his brothers, Richard Girdner, also of Windyville, and Eddie and Abby Houston, Springdale, Ark.; sisters, Lori and Scott Miller, Fayetteville, Ark., and Lisa and Mike Seachord, Hopkinsville, Ky.; his maternal grandmother, Pauline Brooke, Windyville, Mo.; uncles and aunts, Paul and Helen Totzke, St. Joseph, Mich., Harold and Marcia Davis, Van Buren, Ark., and Phillip Brooke, Ava, Mo.; nephews, Phillip, Jason, and Chris of Fayetteville; cousins, Preston and Wendy Brooke, Jarred and Tyler, Ava, Michael and Angela Brooke, Marshfield, Mo., Leota, Shawn, and Kara Brooke, Isabella, Mo., Brooke Davis, Springfield, Mo., Brian, Lisa, and Scott Totzke, Schaumberg, Ill., and Pam and Keith Miller of Racine, Wisc.; as well as many other relatives and friends, including special family friend, Adam Fruits, Springfield, Mo.
A graveside memorial service will be held at Whites Creek Cemetery, c/o died April 8, 2008 in De Soto, Mo., at the age of 94. She was the daughter of Elmer and Grace Dale and was death by her parents; her husband, Leslie; two sisters, Alice Murray and Claribel Lemons.
Visitation was Sunday, April 13, from 3 to 5 p.m. in Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava. Services were Monday, April 14, at 2 p.m. in the Nazarene Church in Bradleyville, with the Revs. Vernon Fuller and Ed Hunsaker officiating. Cemetery.

Jimmy Edwin Barnhart, 71

Jimmy Edwin "Barney" Barnhart, son of the late Charley and Mary Marie (Lemons) Barnhart, was passed away suddenly on Friday, April 18, 2008 at his home in Mtn. Grove, Mo., at 71 years of age.
Jimmy grew up in the Mtn. Grove area and graduated from Mtn. Grove High School in 1955. Following graduation he entered the United States Navy and retired from a military career on Sept. 29, 1975 as an MRC.
He was born to this union. They lived in Port Orchard, Wash., and moved to the Champion, Mo., area in 1986. Wava passing, Jim was attending the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Mtn. Grove and he had also attended Brushy Knob Church in Douglas County in the past. He was a member of the Skyline Fire Department and enjoyed being on bowling leagues.
Besides his parents and his first wife, he was preceded in Cemetery in Douglas County under the direction of the Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home, Mtn. Grove, Mo.
