Rexford Linder, the son of Ed Linder and Tryphena (Bunnell) Linder, was born.
Rex served his country during World War II with U.S. Army in the South Pacific. Rex enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Rex was preceded in Interment followed in the Brushyknob passed away Monday, April 16, 2007, at his home in Ava.
Ed entered this life on Jan. 20, 1920, in Wiley, Colo., one of 15 children of Lewis and Violet Christy.
Ed loved to work with wood and his craftsmanship was well known in the area. He took great pride in creating something out of a piece of wood, whether it was a whole house or a small object. There are several people living in homes in the Ava area that are showcases of his workmanship.
He loved baseball games and never missed a domino game. He was involved in the community activities such as playing cards at the Senior Citizens Center and listening to music downtown. He enjoyed spending time with his family and was active in his church.
He was preceded in Cemetery, Newton, Iowa, on Monday, April 23, at 2 p.m.
All arrangements were under the direction of Ava Family Funeral Home.
Darrell Christopher Woolsey, 59

Darrell C. Woolsey, son of Clinton Christopher Woolsey and Cora Senora (Miller) Woolsey, was death by his parents and one brother, Dewaine.
His survivors include four sisters, Lavon Carter, Mansfield, Nelma Lister, Ava, Gerldean Carter, Mansfield, and Linda Bass, Seymour; two brothers, Don Woolsey, Rogers, Ark., and Larry Woolsey, Ava; many nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, with Pastor Tom Maples officiating. Cemetery with full military rites by Douglas County American Legion Post 112 and Ava VFW Post 5993. The family requests memorials to American Legion Post 112 or VFW Post 5993.
Bernard Ray Heard, 66

Bernard Heard was married in Mountain Grove, and to this union two children were death by his mother, Gertrude.
Memorial services for Bernard Heard will be Saturday, March 5, 2 p.m., in Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, with Rev. Oscar Cunningham officiating. Burial to follow in the Brushyknob born Lorraine Harriet Cook, April 20, 1922 in Brooklyn, New York to Henry "Richard" Cook and Wilhelmina "Minnie" Fredericks. She was raised and graduated from high school in South Ozone Park, Long Island, N.Y.
She married Aug. 29, 1944 to Michael Jaconi during World War II. They lived in Oklahoma, Arizona, and California. Lorraine cared for her mother until her death by her husband of 46 years, Michael, on April 3, 1991. Lorraine moved from Ava at that time to Mansfield to be closer to her family.
Lorraine is survived by a daughter, Barbara Jackson and husband, Jim, of Mansfield; grandchildren, Clay Jackson, of Springfield, Clint Jackson and Tara Jackson, of Mansfield; great-grandchildren, Rashawnda Sullivan and husband, Josh, of Diggins, and Shay Jackson, of Mansfield; one great-great-granddaughter, Mallory Sullivan, of Diggins; a brother, Elwood "Woody" Cook, and wife, Dolores, of Bluffton, S.C.; a special niece, Irene Place and husband, Ron, of Grovespring; special loved ones Danae and Calista Bogart, of Mansfield; many loved nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
Lorraine was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Ava. She enjoyed her many years as volunteer for the Older Adults Transportation "OATS" bus. She did needle work and reading before her vision declined. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She baked the best cookies, and was fond of word games on the computer and e-mailing her family and friends.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Mt. Pisgah born on May 10, 1937 in Piggot, Ark., and departed this life on May 6, 2007, in Pontiac, at the age of 69.
Glenn was a resident of the Ava community for 25 years, moving from the Almartha community. On April 3, 1958, Glenn and Iva Jones were united in marriage in Tijuana, Mexico, and to this union two sons were death by his parents, two brothers, Billy Clay and Arnold Ray, and one sister, Sherry Dean.
He is survived by his wife, Iva, of the home in Ava; two sons and their spouses, Allen D. and Melinda McGee, and Roy E. and Debora McGee, all of Ava; three grandchildren, Kathleen, Shaun and Brandon; one sister, Jean Kelly, Torrance, Calif.; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services for Glenn were Wednesday, May 9, at 10 a.m. at the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, with the Rev. Oren Alcorn officiating. Cemetery.
