Beth Butcher, 51

God reached down and gently lifted Beth Lauraine Butcher, 51, up to Heaven on June 25, 2007.
She was born. Prior to the birth of her children, Beth began working for the Missouri State Highway Department. In 1987, she was able to fulfill her love of teaching when she began working for Sikeston Public Schools in Sikeston, Mo. as a middle school, and later on, a junior high art instructor. She was a member of the educational professional sorority, Delta Kappa Gamma, and earned the privilege as the SACC's 2005 Teacher of the Year.
In May 2000, Beth was diagnosed with breast cancer. For seven years, she valiantly fought this disease with her strong Christian faith and incredible positive attitude. Beth had a great love for life, and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Most of all, Beth was a beautiful mother, wife and friend. In death by one brother, James Bolte.
She is survived by her husband, Stephen Butcher Sr. and son, Stephen Butcher Jr., both of Sikeston; a daughter and son-in-law, Aimee Kimball and husband, Eric, of Jacksonville, Fla.; parents-in-law, Curtis and Martha Butcher of Sikeston; a sister and brother-in-law, Barbara Holmes and husband, Larry, of Seymour; a sister-in-law, Mary Bolte of Ava; and by seven special nieces and nephews.
Visitation services were held from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday June 27 at the Blanchard Funeral Chapel in Sikeston. The funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. today (Thursday) at Concordia Lutheran Church.
Burial will follow on Friday June 29 at 10:30 at the Turkey Creek born on Oct. 22, 1957, in Silver Creek, N.Y., and death by her parents; her husband, Bobby Joe Jones; a sister, Mary; and a child.
She is survived by her seven children; her companion, Rick Eckles, Mansfield; four brothers, George Phillips Jr., Ava, Larry Phillips, Mtn. Grove, Donald Phillips, Ava, and Wallace McCarthy, Laughton, Okla.; two sisters, Charolette Schifferle, East Pembroke, N.Y., and Tessie Miller, Oklahoma City, Okla.; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Graveside service was held Tuesday, July 3, at 3 p.m., at the Murray died at 1:15 a.m. Monday, July 23, 2007, at Cox South Hospital in Springfield.
He was married Schelia Bowman on Oct. 25, 1969. They have been born: a son, Galen Ayers, of Galesburg; four daughters, Genea, of Galesburg, Ginger, of Iowa, Desiree, of Ava, and Tessa, of Peoria, Ill. He was blessed to be the proud grandpa of 14 grandchildren, who will all miss their grandpa very much.
John was preceded in Cemetery, Abingdon, Ill. Eleanor Landon will officiate.
Local arrangements were conducted by the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home of Ava. Memorials may be made to his wife.
Tamara Jo Calvin Ragusa, 47

Tamara "Tammi" Jo Ragusa, 47, passed from this world on Thursday. Aug. 23, 2007. She was preceded in born to Tony and Darlene Calvin on Feb. 5, 1960, in Mansfield. She was lovingly greeted with open arms by two older 'sissies', and a host of great grandparents, grandmas and grandpas, aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was in fact named after great-grandpa Joe Calvin, her daddy's grandpa.
One of Tammi's legacies above all will be her love of animals. Tammi was a sucker for any stray or abandoned dog or cat, and always managed to shower these pets with the love and care they so desperately needed.
Growing up, Tammi was very active at the Longview YMCA, played cornet in the school band, and was a member of Rainbow Girls through the Grandview Chapter of Eastern Star.
Tammi had many skills and talents, including sewing and decorating. She was also a fabulous cook and shared her gifts bountifully with her family. She was also a certified nail technician, and later in life earned her certification as an EMT.
In September 1977, Tammi Cemetery in Ava, where Tammi will rest close to her mom and sister. The family requests memorial donations in lieu of flowers to Beth Riley, 707 SW New Orleans Ct., Lee's Summit, MO 64081.
Tammi was the niece of Don Dobbs and Sandy Dobbs Chambers, both of Ava.
John Frederick 'Jack' Plummer, 78

Jack Plummer was married Grace Millsap in Las Vegas Nev. Jack and Grace were residents of the Ava area for 11 years, moving here when they retired. During his time here he made many friends and touched many lives.
A Catholic for his entire life, he attended St. Leo's Catholic Church in Ava. He was a member of the local Knights of Columbus council, serving a term as Grand Knight. He also spent 61 years with the Boy Scouts as a Life Scout.
While living in Ava he worked at Wal-Mart and Century 21.
He leaves behind a host of friends and family. Surviving him are, his wife, Grace, of the home; daughters Micheline Golden and husband, Ray, of Clovis, Calif., and Jackie Corlis and husband, Chris, of Kingman Ariz.; a son, Zachary Plummer, of Kingman Ariz.; five grandchildren, Asheline Beeson, Chelsea Beeson, and Samantha Golden, all of Clovis Calif., and Brianna Corlis, and Eric Corlis, of Kingman, Ariz.
Funeral services were held on Sept. 10, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Kingman, Ariz., arranged by Sutton Memorial Funeral Home.
Ethel F. Bunnell, 95

Mrs. Ethel F. Bunnell, 95, of Ava, born May 5, 1912, the daughter of John Clinton and Minnie Etta Pace, at Lake City, Ark. Mrs. Bunnell lived in Arkansas most of her life. Since becoming ill, Ethel had been staying with her daughter.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lake City, Ark.
Survivors include her daughters, Betty J. Hoskins, Ava, and Doris Bunnell, of Tampa, Fla.; five grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in Cemetery, at Bowman, Ark. Visitation was held at the Whelchel Chapel in Forsyth on Sunday, Sept. 23, from 2 to 4 p.m.
