Norma Jean (Vogt) Miller was married Johnnie Miller, their local milk hauler who grew up in the Sweden Ridge area, near Ava. They were death by her father, Colonel Vogt.
Survivors include her mother, Gladys Vogt, of Las Vegas, Nev.; her husband, Johnnie Miller, of San Bruno, Calif.; her only child, Johnnie Ross Miller and wife Eveone, also of San Bruno, Calif.; granddaughter, Jennifer Miller, at Stanford Medical School, Stanford, Calif.; grandson, Jake Miller, at Chico State University, Chico, Calif.; brother Joe Vogt (Linda) of Las Vegas, Nev.; nephews Gary (Sarah) and Robert Vogt, of Yuba City, Calif.; lifelong childhood friend, Betty and husband Jack Retherford, of Mount Vernon, Ore.; and special friend, Gloria Radebaugh, of San Bruno, Calif.
Norma’s laugh and gentle heart will be missed by all. She will rest at Cypress Lawn born on Sept. 18, 1926, at Brown Branch, Mo. She departed this life Feb. 19, 2008, at Cox Hospital, surrounded by her loving family, at the age of 8l years, 5 months and 1 day.
Pauline and Doyne Chance were united in marriage on Sept. 20, 1944, at Mtn. Home, Ark. They were death by her parents, her husband, Doyne, and an infant great-granddaughter, Hannah Leigh Chance.
Her survivors include her son, Larry Chance and wife, Debbie, Ava; two grandchildren, Darin and Elizabeth Chance, Grain Valley, Mo., and Dustin and April Chance, great-grandson, Randy, and great-granddaughter, Natalie, due in April, all of Independence. All will miss their loving Grammy. Pauline had an extended family of caregivers, Deanna and Bobbie.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, 2008, in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, with Rev. Oren Alcorn, Rev. Robert Roberts and Rev. Mike Freeman officiating. Burial will follow in the Arno Cemetery Fund.
Wilson Eugene Williams, 67

Wilson Eugene Williams, the son of Carl Williams and Bonnie Williams (Fitzgerald), death by his parents, a daughter, Angela Williams, and a brother, Norman Williams.
Wilson is survived by his former wife, Julane Williams, of Ava, and their daughter, Cindy Luttrull, of Springfield; Joyce, Shawna and Belinda Herrell, of the home; two sisters, Roberta Hadeen of Sparta, and Dessie Ludwig, of Ava; five grandchildren; and numerous other family and friends.
Services will be held on Friday, Feb. 22, at 2 p.m., in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, with the Rev. Joe Lafferty officiating. Cemetery in Ozark County. A visitation is scheduled from 6 to 7 p.m. today (Thursday). Memorial donations can be made to the Humane Society or the Ronald McDonald House.
Erma Cooper, 90

Erma Fay (Friend) Cooper born in Thornfield, Mo., on March 15, 1917, the daughter of Harrison and Maude Friend. She born.
On Feb. 13, 1949, Erma was baptized at Hammond. She attended church at Hilltop until her health wouldn't allow her to go. She loved to make quilts. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Mrs. Cooper is survived by her children, Pauline Adkisson and husband, Tom, of Springfield, Norma Steele, of Kansas City, Kan., Imogene Pierce and husband, Gene, of Lebanon, Sue Murphy and husband, Dwain, of Mountain Grove, Darrell Cooper and wife, Barbara, of Mountain Grove, and Harold Cooper and wife, Pam, of Thornfield; 15 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren; three brothers and eight sisters.
Erma was preceded in Cemetery. Visitation was Sunday, Feb. 24, from 2 to 4 p.m., at Clinkingbeard Funeral Home in Gainesville.
Mavis Waggoner McAvoy, 85

Mavis Waggoner McAvoy, of Salisbury, Md., formerly of Prince George County, Md., born Nov. 22, 1922 in Lawrence County, Mo., the first of eight children married Horace Michael McAvoy. Together, they owned and operated the Pfaff Sewing Machine business in Washington for many years. Two daughters were death by her parents; her husband, Horace McAvoy; her brothers, Jack, Sam, and Bill; her sister, Ruth Joan Gibson; and a nephew, Reginald King, who was killed in Vietnam, Feb. 14, 1969.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Marie Privett, daughter of Robert Everett Privett and Sarah Elsie Foster Privett, was passed away on July 8, 2008 St. Luke's Hospital, Kansas City.
Marie was a resident of the Kansas City area for 55 years. She was a switchboard operator for a hospital and a member of the Redeemer Fellowship Church of Kansas City.
She was preceded in Cemetery, with the Rev. Robert Milton Casebolt officiating. Services are being conducted by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava.
Ellen (Parcels) Lawson, 85

Ellen (Parcels) Lawson, 85, of Marshall, Born Jan. 12, 1923, in Brown Branch, Mo., she was the daughter of the late Russell and Cordy Palmer Parcels. On Feb. 14, 1943, in Noble, Mo., she death on March 3, 1998. She had lived in Marshall since 1947 and was a member of First Church of the Nazarene. She had worked at the International Shoe Factory and was a licensed practical nurse at the Marshall Habilitation Center. She worked as a dog groomer for more than 50 years.
Survivors include three sons, John R. Lawson and his wife, Ann, of Warsaw, Mo., and Jerry Lawson and his wife, Debby, and Ron Lawson and his wife, Mary Jo Rieth, of Marshall; seven grandchildren, Kim Malter of Malta Bend, Del and Darrin Lawson of Phoenix, Ariz., Amber Bloom of Lake Ozark, Mo., and Gary Lawson, Bobby Lawson and Meg Lawson of Marshall; 10 great-grandchildren; a brother, O.D. Parcels of Marshall; a sister, Elizabeth Pointer of Marshall; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Ruby Zanes.
