Funeral services for Master Sergeant Robert "Bob" Eugene Hendricks, 60, was held at 10 a.m., Monday, July 18, 2005, at the American Legion Building in Fairview, Okla. The Rev. Jim Veal and Chaplain (LTC) Ballard officiated. Burial was Tuesday, July 19, at 2 p.m., at the Fort Sill National born Jan. 14, 1945, in Springfield, Mo. to Morrison Eugene and Madgie (Wilson) Hendricks, and married Mary Lou Wells, his partner for 37 years, on June 8, 1968, in Ava, and to this union were death by his parents; sister, Sue Hassler; and father-in-law, Lester Jenkins.
Father Leonard Baldus, 95

Father Leonard Baldus, O.M.I., 95, of Story City, Iowa, died Saturday, July 30, 2005, at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, Belleville, Ill.
Father Baldus was a member of the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate for 68 years. Early in his ministry, he served at St. Henry’s Seminary, Belleville, Ill., as a teacher and coach. From 1955 to 1961, he served as treasurer for the former Central Province from Minnesota. Later, he worked in South Dakota and Minnesota. In Sisseton, S.D., he established a gallery featuring Native American art. His last assignment was to Ava-Mansfield, Missouri, where he helped build Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Mansfield. Father Baldus moved to the Dammert Center at the Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows, Belleville, Ill., in 1999.
He was preceded in Cemetery, Belleville, Ill.

James Leroy Robbins, 70

James Leroy Robbins, 70, born Nov. 16, 1934, in Roy, Mo., the son of Bonnie Clyde and Lucinda Ellison Robbins. He was a longtime resident of Salesville. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and the Korean War.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 12, at the Salesville Baptist Church with Rev. Lonnie DeArmond officiating. Burial will follow in the Graford born March 21, 1929, in Douglas County, and departed this life Aug. 10, 2005, at the age of 76.
Herbert was a lifelong resident of the Gentry community near Ava. He was an electrician and beef farmer. Herbert was converted in 1971 and was a member of the Gentry Community Church. He served his country during the Korean War with the U.S. Air Force.
Herbert loved chess, music and playing his guitar, traveling to see family, studying Civil War history, and was a good neighbor to all.
He was preceded in Interment followed in the Bragg Cemetery Fund.
Roxie May Hollaway, 91

Roxie May Hollaway was died on Aug. 13, 2005, at Kindred Hospital in Ontario, Calif. at the age of 91.
She attended Claremont Grammar School and graduated from Claremont High School in 1931.
Ms. Hollaway loved acting in plays and spent many nights at the Fox Theater in Pomona, Calif. She also loved Hollywood.
She attended Pomona Junior College where she studied business. She used her education in a clerical position at Aerojet in Azusa, Calif., and kept books at Wright Brothers and Rice Furniture in Pomona, Calif.
After her third marriage, to James Hollaway, she moved to Wheatland, Calif., for a number of years and was a member of Wheatland Baptist Church. She then moved back to the Claremont area after Mr. Hollaway’s interment made at Pomona Valley Memorial Park at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 20.
Howard Walker Woodruff, 94

Howard Walker Woodruff born in Independence on October 7, 1910, to Myrtle and Walker Woodruff. He graduated from William Chrisman High School in 1930, Central Methodist College at Fayette, in 1935, and Perkins School of Theology at SMU, Dallas, Texas in 1940.
Howard death in 1996, and one son, William Walker Woodruff in 2000.
He is survived by one daughter, Carole Anne Golden of Independence, Mo.; a daughter-in-law, Terry Woodruff of Raytown, Mo.; one brother, William Harold Woodruff, Independence; and a brother-in-law, Rev. Charles Burner of Kansas City, Mo.
Howard enjoyed the fellowship and friendship of the community. He had a great thirst for knowledge and enjoyed writing poetry. The “idea man” was what folks called him. Howard had a smile and laugh and caring love that will be truly missed by those who knew and loved him.
Funeral services were held August 24, at Christ United Methodist Church, Independence, Mo. Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery on Noland Road, Independence, Mo.
