Nancy (Neiman) Bolen, 83

Nancy Neiman Bolen, daughter of Calvin Samuel Neiman and Bertie Mae Gastineau Neiman, was married to Elmer R. Spurrier. After the dissolution of that marriage, she later death. She was a secretary in the medical field at Emory University in Atlanta, Ga., and was also executive secretary and acting director for the Missouri Association for Retarded Citizens in Jefferson City. Much of her career was spent in advocacy for the rights of handicapped citizens.
Nancy was a member of the Methodist Church, Order of the Eastern Star Ava Chapter #47, Daughters of American Revolution and the Huguenot Society. Like her father, she was a lifelong Democrat.
She enjoyed all her activities including spinning, weaving, painting, genealogy, historic preservation projects, and working on the farm and being with her friends and family.
Nancy was preceded in Interment will be in the Mt. Tabor passed away in her sleep, Jan. 20, 2006, at North Park Village in Ozark, Mo. She was married to the late Woodrow Enloe on April 23, 1935.
She was a member of the Church of Christ at Souder, Gainesville Order of the Eastern Star and the Fire Department Auxiliary at Wasola. She and Woodrow ran the Noble Store, where she was the Postmaster for 30 years. Ruth helped her husband on the Enloe family farm for over 35 years. She enjoyed crocheting and quilting with all her family and friends.
Mrs. Enloe is survived by two daughters, Alline Hicks and husband Norman, of Ozark, and Karen Enloe Matteson, of St. Charles, Mo.; one son, Jerry Enloe and wife Patti, of Springfield; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; five great great-grandchildren; one half-brother, C. J. Morgan, of Ava; one brother-in-law, Eldred and wife Audrey, of St. Charles, Mo.; three sisters-in-law, Alice Menown, of California, Cosby Hill, of Buffalo, Mo., Nina Lewis and husband Paul, of Freemont Hills, Mo.; and many friends and family.
She was preceded in Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Fairhaven Children's Home, Strafford, Mo., or the Souder born March 29, 1957, in Gunnison, Colo., and departed this life Feb. 21, 2006, in St. John's Hospital Springfield, at the age of 48.
Bill was a resident of Springfield for the past 34 years moving there from Ava. He was employed as a dry wall finisher and carpenter. In 1984 Bill and Elysa Best were united in marriage in Springfield, and to this union five children were death by one grandson, Andrew and a brother, Gary.
He is survived by his wife, Elysa of the home; three daughters and their spouses, Rene and Trace Calabrese, Kansas City, Linda and Mark Cole and Mariah Lakey, all of Springfield; two sons, Tom Lakey and Adam and Jessica Lakey, all of Springfield; four grandchildren, Heaven, Mason, Caden Noble, and Stephanie; his parents, Noble and Bonnie Lakey, Ava; two brothers, Kevin and Stanley Lakey, Ava; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 25, in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, with Brad Smith officiating. Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 6 to 7 p.m. in the funeral home.
Carrol Dean Swearengin, 66

Carrol Dean Swearengin, age 66, of Sparta, born Nov. 8, 1939, in Ava, the son of Alma and Tressie (Nelson) Swearengin. On May 20, 1963, he and Charlene Larson were united in marriage.
Mr. Swearengin retired from Consumers Warehouse. He was a member of the Eagles Lodge in Ava.
He was loved and will be missed by his family.
Survivors include, a son, Harold Swearengin, and daughter-in-law, Tina, Sparta; a daughter, Patricia Carr, and son-in-law, Glenn, Nixa; four grandchildren, Aaron Dean Carr, Danny Russell Carr, Austin Ray Swearengin and Erica Dawn Hanafin; a brother, Gene Swearengin, Ft. Worth, Texas; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
His wife, Charlene, death by his parents, and a sister, Helen Swearengin.
Funeral services were Friday, Feb. 17, in Adams Funeral Home, Ozark, with Rev. Carl Thompson officiating. Burial followed in Swearengin Cemetery, Riverside, Mo.
Gara Newell Loftin, 89

Gara Newell Loftin, the daughter of Marion William Graham and Elpha (Exline) Graham, was death. She was devoted to her family, spending the last two years with her daughters, Shirley Elaine Kirby and Earlene Chamberlain, as they battled terminal illnesses. Since October 2005, Gara spent time with daughters, Ineta Gann and Darlene Jenkins. Most recently Gara enjoyed her time with Ineta in El Dorado Springs, where she was cared for with love and devotion as her health gradually declined.
Gara was a homemaker and was employed in the Ava School District as a cook for many years. She loved gardening, cooking, quilting, and embroidery needlework. Gara maintained close connections with family and friends, spending countless hours on the phone reminiscing about the good times of their lives, celebrating their joys and triumphs, and loving them through the difficulties of life.
For many years Gara was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church, where Albert served as a deacon. In later years she enjoyed attending Star Chapel when her health permitted. Gara's steadfast faith in Jesus Christ provided hope and confidence of Eternal Life.
Gara was preceded in Interment followed in the Loftin Cemetery.
Mary Permelia Boker, 90

Mary Boker the daughter of William Samuel Dupre and Fannie Frances (Moore) Dupre, was death by her parents, her first husband, Charlie Everett Casady in 196l, her second husband, Henry Boker in 1972, two sons, Charles Casady in l994 and Bud Casady in l994.
Mary is survived by one son, Aron Lee Casady, Cottonwood, Ariz.; one daughter-in-law, Euvenia Casady, Ava; six grandchildren, Debbie Hall and John, Pueblo, Colo., Dean Casady and Wanda, Rogersville, Janet Burris and Norman, Cornville, Ariz., James Casady, Chandler, Ariz., John Casady and Brenda, Ava, Molly Potter and Richard, Squires; 15 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday March 10, in the Clinkingbeard Funeral Home, Ava, with the Rev. Ron Pinckney officiating. Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 1 to 2 p.m. Memorials may be made to Girdner Cemetery.
