Wanda Morgan

Wanda Katherine Lemings Morgan, 65, of Malden, Mo., died Tuesday, April 1, 2003, at the Ridgeview Nursing Center in Malden.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete with the Bradshaw Funeral Home of Malden.

Nancy Turner

Nancy Rhodes Turner, 40, of Hayti, Mo., died Friday, March 28, 2003, at her residence.

Born April 28, 1962, in St. Louis, Mo., daughter of the late William Douglas and Mary Elizabeth Tillman Rhodes, she was a school teacher and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Hayti.

On June 20, 1981, in Hayti, she married Walter R. Turner, who survives of the home.

Survivors also include two sons, Nicholas and Andrew Turner, of Hayti; two brothers, W.D. "Bill" Rhodes and wife, Judy, of Davie, Fla. and Stephen Rhodes and wife, Faye, of Hayti; mother-in-law, Janie Turner, of Hayti; five aunts; three uncles and many other relatives.

Memorial services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 1, at the First United Methodist Church in Hayti with the Rev. Sue Cubbage officiating.

John W. German Funeral Home of Hayti was in charge of arrangements.

Irene Baker

Irene Baker, 78, of Campbell, Mo., died Wednesday, April 2, 2003, at the General Baptist Nursing Home in Campbell.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete with the Landess Funeral Home of Campbell.

Glendale Becking

Glendale Lee Becking, 75, of Bernie, Mo., died Tuesday, April 1, 2003, at the Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Giirardeau, Mo.

Born Dec. 2, 1927, in Bernie, son of the late Joseph George and Columbia Belle Cook Becking, he had farmed and was owner and operator of Becking Seed and Fertilizer Plant in Bernie.

On June 19, 1948, in Piggott, Ark., he married Amy Nell Kifer, who preceded him in death on Nov. 26, 2001.

Survivors include two daughters, Lana and Cindy Becking, both of Bernie; one brother, J.T. Becking, of Bernie; one sister, Vivian Summers, of Grand Blana, Mich.; two grandchildren, Coby Lee Ayers and Dustin Kane Neeley, both of Bernie and one great-grandchild, Madisyn Ayers, of Bernie.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 3, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, April 4, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Susan Marner-Sides officiating.

Burial will follow at the Bernie cemetery.

Hermenia Cross

Hermenia Cross, 75, of Holcomb, Mo., died today, Thursday, April 3, 2003, at Baptist East Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete with the McDaniel Funeral Home of Kennett.

Wilbern Fouts

Wilbern "Webb" Lee Fouts, 73, of Arbyrd, Mo., died Tuesday, March 25, 2003, at his residence.

Born Feb. 4, 1930, in Hornersville, Mo., son of the late Frank and Colie Winemiller Fouts, he was a farmer.

Survivors include three sons, Todd Fouts, of Hornersville, Mark Fouts, of Malden, Mo. and Michael Fouts, of Bowling Green, Ky.; one sister, Jane Fouts, of Dermont, Ark. and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Virgil and J.C. Fouts.

Graveside services were held Sunday, March 30, at the Lulu cemetery in Senath, Mo. with the Rev. Kevin Knox officiating.

Lillian Lowery

Lillian Louise Lowery, 81, of Vienna, Ill., formerly of Kennett, died Wednesday, April 2, 2003, at Hillview Health Care Center in Vienna.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, April 4, at the McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, April 4, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. James Cecil officiating.

Burial will follow at the Oak Ride cemetery in Kennett.

Betty Marshall

Betty Eugenia Zarecor Marshall, 76, of Dallas, Texas, died Monday, March 24, 2003, at Dallas.

Born May 28, 1926, in Hayti, Mo., daughter of the late John M. and Eugenia Victoria Dozier Zarecor, she was a member of the Lake Highlands United Methodist Church.

She married John H. Marshall, Jr., who survives of the home.

Survivors also include two sons, John H. Marshall III and wife, Christine, of Centreville, Va. and George Z. Marshall and wife, Jane, of Plano, Texas; one daughter, Jacqueline M. Leibach and husband, Chipp, of Anchorage, Alaska; 10 grandchildren, Timothy, Amy, Ryan, Trevor, John Robert, Chelsey, Sydney, Caitlin, Kendall and Caroline and three great-grandchildren, Troy, Victoria and Kate Isabel.

Memorial services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 28, at the Lake Highlands United Methodist Church in Dallas, with Pastor David Rucker and Bishop Richard Looney officiating.

Restland Funeral Home of Dallas was in charge of arrangements.

Anna Massie

Anna May Massie, 91, of Malden, Mo., died Wednesday, April 2, 2003, at Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter, Mo.

Born May 23, 1911, in Doe Run, Mo., daughter of the late Zeno Willard and Ann Estep Larkin, she worked for Hart Truck Line in Malden and was a member of the United Methodist Church in Malden, where she was an active volunteer and member of the Quilters.

In 1929, in Ellington, Mo., she married Claude E. Massie, who survives of the home.

Survivors also include one daughter, Betty Tipton and husband, Clarence, of Lamar, Mo.; one sister, Helen Neely, of Appleton, Wis.; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, James Massie; one granddaughter, Kimber Massie and five brothers and sisters.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, April 4, at the Landess Funeral Home in Malden.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 5, at the Landess Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Robert Morgan officiating.

Burial will follow at the Memorial Park cemetery in Malden.

Wanda Morgan

Wanda Kathryn Lemings Morgan, 65, of Malden, Mo., died Tuesday, April 1, 2003, at Ridgeview Nursing Center in Malden.

Born April 6, 1937, in Hattieville, Ark., daughter of Bonnie Pruett Lemings, of Clarkton, Mo. and the late Velvert Jackson "VJ" Lemings, she was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Malden.

On June 14, 1957, in Malden, she married Bill Morgan, who preceded her in death on June 6, 2001.

Survivors include two sons, Kerry Don Morgan and wife, Melissa, of Malden and Rodney Lee Morgan and wife, Pamela, of Campbell, Mo.; one sister, Mary Ola Sparks and husband, Clinton, of Malden; four brothers, Doyle Lemings and wife, Carolyn, of Dexter, Mo., Donald Lemings and wife, Sandy, of California, Randle Lemings and wife, Linda, of Gideon, Mo. and Dennis Lemings, of Clarkton; five grandchildren, Soctt Morgan, of Jonesboro, Ark., W.C. Morgan, of Springfield, Mo., Matt Williams amd Michelle Morgan, both of Campbell and Matthew Barnes, of Malden and two great-grandchildren, Karley and Coby Morgan, both of Jonesboro.

Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. today, Thursday, April 3, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, April 4, at the First Assembly of God Church in Malden with the Rev. Dale Shoup officiating.

Burial will follow at the Memorial Park cemetery in Malden.

Jessica Sweatt

Jessica Lynn Sweatt, 21, of Clarkton, Mo., died Tuesday, April 1, 2003, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Mo.

Born Aug. 27, 1981, in Memphis, Tenn., daughter of Bruce Sweatt, of Portageville, Mo. and Sheilah Mangrum Harrison, of Clarkton, she was a member of the First Baptist Church in Clarkton.

Survivors include mother and step-father, Sheilah and Carl Harrison, of Clarkton; father and step-mother, Bruce and Linda Sweatt, of Portageville; two sisters, Shawna and Brittany Sweatt, both of Clarkton; one niece, Katlyn Riley, of Clarkton; two nephews, Billy Riley, Jr. and Izaya Gorman, both of Clarkton; two step-sisters, Kayla and Amber Tillman, both of Portageville and grandmothers, Mary Sweatt, of Portageville and Jane Harrison, of Clarkton.

Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. today, Thursday, April 3, at the First Baptist Church in Clarkton.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, April 4, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel in Malden, Mo.

Burial will follow at the Stanfield Cecmetery in Clarkton.

Anna Baker

Anna Irene Baker, 78, of Campbell, Mo., died Wednesday, April 2, 2003, at the General Baptist Nursing Home in Campbell.

Born Sept. 19, 1924, in St. Francis, Ark., daughter of the late Jonah Collins and Cora Ollie Sellers King, she was a homemaker and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter No. 92 in Campbell. She was of the Baptist faith.

She married Cleo Pattillo and later married James Baker. They both preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by two sons, Roger Dale and Larry Don Pattillo; one granddaughter, Teresa Ann Pattillo; two great-grandchildren, and two brothers, Marvin and Billy King.

Survivors include two daughters, Betty Jo Deen, of Campbell and Carolyn June Crowell, of Troy, Mo.; one son, Jerry Cleo Pattillo; five sisters, Lavora Comer, of Campbell, Edith Moffitt, of Fagus, Mo., Eva Lee Matchett, of Broseley, Mo., Lois Bond, of Rombauer, Mo. and Janette Bradley, of Columbia; one brother, Bobby Dean King, of Neelyville, Mo.; 11 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, April 5, at the Landess Funeral Home of Campbell.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 6, at the Landess Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Earl D. Dell officiating.

Burial will follow at the Woodlawn cemetery in Campbell.

Hermenia Cross
