Adam Jowers

Adam Scott Jowers, 8, son of Scott and Lisa Blankenship Jowers, died Thursday, Dec. 6, 2001, at his home in Blytheville, Ark.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church and a student at Immaculate Conception Catholic School in Blytheville.

Survivors include his grandparents, Bob Jowers of Blytheville, Pat Parker of Ridgely, Tenn., Tommy and Sandra Blankenship of Blytheville; great-grandparents, Aubrey Wood of Ridgely, Ernest and Lois Martin Coats of Adamsville, Tenn. and Martha Smith of Calico Rock, Ark.

He was preceded in death by grandparents Melba Jowers and Sam Parker and great-grandparents, Voyd Martin and Charles Smith.

Funeral services are at 2 p.m. today, Sunday, Dec. 9, in the First Baptist Church in Blytheville with the Rev. Bill Fuller officiating.

Burial will be in Elmwood cemetery at Blytheville.

The family suggests memorials be made to St. Jude Children Hospital in Memphis or the First Baptist Church in Blytheville.

Fannie Miller

Fannie Miller, 92, died Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2001, at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett.

Born Jan. 17, 1909, in Campbell, she was the daughter of the late Elbert H. and Maggie Elizabeth Gibson Henson.

On Sept. 16, 1936, in Piggott, Ark., she married Charley Ward Miller.

Survivors include three sons, Carl Ward Miller of Tacoma, Wash., Rollin Dale Miller of California and Larry Paul Miller of Warrensburg, Mo.; two daughters, Helen Lively of Rockford, Ill. and Judy Dorris of South Beloit, Ill.; one sister, Cora Haley of California; eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, in the McDaniel Funeral Service Chapel in Kennett with the Rev. Gene West officiating.

Burial was in the Oak Ridge cemetery in Kennett.

Pallbearers were Buford Stacks, Sam Stacks, Jack Brewer, Jamie Cates, Shawn Droke and Joe Droke.

Edna Rose Edna Kay Rose, 61, of Malden, died Friday, Dec. 7, 2001, at Three Rivers Healthcare-North Campus, in Poplar Bluff. Arrangements are incomplete with Landess Funeral Home of Malden.

Helen Allison

Helen Whitlock Allison, 80, of Moore, Okla., formerly of Senath, Mo., died at Oklahoma City, Okla.

Visitation will be held at 6 p.m. today, Tuesday, Dec. 11, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel in Senath.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 12, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel in Senath.

Burial will follow at the Lulu cemetery in Senath.

Catherine Bader

Catherine Elizabeth Bader, 81, of Campbell, Mo., died Saturday, Dec. 8, 2001, at the Piggott Community Hospital in Piggott, Ark.

Born Oct. 2, 1920, in Glennonville, Mo., daughter of the late Joseph Leo and Edna Laux Blume, she was a housewife, an employee of John's Produce and the Campbell school cafeteria, both in Campbell. She was a member of the St. Teresa's Catholic Church in Glennonville.

On Jan. 31, 1940, in Glennonville, she married Robert John Bader, who preceded her in death on Feb. 13, 1991.

Survivors include six daughters, Evelyn J. Reinheimer, of Mascoutah, Ill., Carolyn Peters, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., Edna Mae Knott, of Imperial, Mo., Mary Lee Suiter, of Manila, Ark., Betty M. Kerperien, of Cahokia, Ill. and Rebecca A. Petry, of Glennonville; two sons, Robert Joseph and Eugene J. Bader, both of Glennonville; two brothers, James Blume, of El Campo, Texas and Carl Blume, of Campbell; 27 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by one son Cletus J. Bader, one grandchild and one sister, Lucille Blume.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 10, at St. Teresa's Catholic Church in Glennonville with Father Glenn Eftink officiating.

Burial was in the St. Teresa's cemetery at Glennonville.

Landess Funeral Home of Campbell was in charge of arrangements.

Josie Bracken

Josie Bracken, 81, of Kennett, died Thursday, Dec. 6, 2001, at her residence.

Born Jan. 23, 1920, in Kennett, she was the daughter of the late Hobart Earl and Grace Mae Jackson Fish.

On Feb. 21, 1942, she married Willard M. Bracken, who preceded her in death on May 7, 1980.

Survivors include one son, Willard D. Bracken, of Tucson, Ariz.; one daughter, Margaret Ellen McCrory, of Kennett; two step-sons, Gary and Larry Bracken, of St. Louis, Mo.; one niece, Sondra Graham, of Long Beach, Calif.; 14 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by one son John H.E. Ray; one grandson; John Dalton Ray and one brother Rufus Lafayette Fish.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. today, Tuesday, Dec. 11, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel in Kennett with the Rev. Bud Evans officiating.

Burial was in the Oak Ridge cemetery at Kennett.

Pallbearers were Paul Schaefer, Don Rohrbach, Larry Bracken, Donald Bailey, Jeff Schaefer and Kenneth Bower.

Honorary pallbearer was Donna Schaefer.

Lula Bryant

Lula Bryant, 87, of Malden, Mo., died Sunday, Dec. 9, 2001, at the Malden Care Center.

Born Nov. 14, 1914, in New Madrid, Mo., daughter of the late W.F. and Nellie Belford Bryant Wagoner, she was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Malden.

On Dec. 9, 1931, in Malden, she married Chester Bryant, who preceded her in death on Feb. 18, 1996.

Survivors include four sons, George Bryant and wife, Charline, of Wappapello, Mo., Bob Bryant, of Campbell, Mo., Roger Bryant and wife, Pam, of Cape Girardeau, Mo. and Rev. Mark Bryant and wife, Jo Anna, of Green Forest, Ark.; two daughters, Barbara Borders, of Kennett and Carolyn Chappell and husband, Blaine, of Dexter, Mo.; two sisters, Pheba Patton, of Malden and Lillie Bailey, of Flint, Mich.; 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, Wayne Bryant; three brothers, Freeman, Clarence and Raymond Wagoner and two sisters, Stella Sutton and Ida Hicks.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. today, Tuesday, Dec. 11, at the First Assembly of God Church in Malden with Revs. Mark Bryant and Dale Shoup officiating.

Burial was in the Rosewood cemetery at Malden.

Grandsons served as pallbearers.

Bradshaw Funeral Home of Malden was in charge of arrangements.

Herman Christian Herman Christian, 91, of Hornersville, Mo., died today, Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2001, at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete with the Bradshaw-Emerson Funeral Home of Malden.

Prince Clark

Prince Ellis Clark, 45, of Kennett, died Friday, Dec. 7, 2001, at his residence.

Visitation will be held from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, at the Community Temple Church of God in Christ in Kennett.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, at the Community Temple Chirch of God in Christ with Elder Luke Robinson officiating.

Burial will follow at the Oak Grove cemetery in Holland, Mo.

Bradshaw Funeral Home of Kennett is in charge of arrangements.

Tomazine DePew Tomazine DePew, of Malden, Mo., died today, Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2001, at Three Rivers North Campus in Poplar Bluff, Mo.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete with the McDaniel Funeral Home of Kennett.

Terry Newman Terry Dean Newman, 50, of Senath, Mo., died Saturday, Dec. 8, 201, at the Senath Nursing Center.

Born May 10, 1951, in Senath, he was the son of Alpha Aline Newman, of Senath and the late Orville Newman.

Survivors also include two brothers, Larry Newman, of Senath and Joe Newman, of Virginia and four sisters, Janette Bogard and Diane Mayberry, both of Kennett, Brenda Willoughby, of Millington, Mich. and Beverly Mitchell, of Senath.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 10, at the Faith Baptist Church in Senath with the Rev. Troy Alley officiating.

Burial was in the McGrew cemetery.

Pallbearers were Ronnie and Jamie Mitchell, Robbie and Larry Wayne Newman and Todd and Nelson Mayberry.

McDaniel Funeral Home of Senath was in charge of arrangements.

Evelyn Portlock

Evelyn E. Portlock, 86, of Hayti, Mo., died Saturday, Dec. 8, 2001, at the Pemiscot County Nursing Home in Hayti.

Born Nov. 4, 1915, in Cottonwood Point, Mo., , daughter of the late John Thomas and Nora Bessie Owens Finley, she was employed by Beckman's Electronics prior to her retirement, she attended the First Presbyterian Church and was a member of the Eastern Star.

In 1935, at Caruthersville, Mo., she married Kenneth L. Portlock, who preceded her in death in 1974.

Survivors include two brothers, James Finley, of Michigan and Jewel Finley, of Illinois and six grandchildren, Lynn Collins, of Union, Mo., Debbie Linter, of Jackson, Mo., Janet Allen and Todd Smith, both of Caruthersville, Harriet Barger, of Poplar Bluff, Mo. and Herbie Smith, of Blytheville, Ark.

She was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.

Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 9, at the Little Prairie cemetery in Caruthersville with Mike McDaniel officiating.

Pallbearers were Herb Smith, Jr., Todd Smith, Chris Darby and Jerry Barger.

H.S. Smith Funeral Home of Caruthersville was in charge of the arrangements.
