Doris E. Soderstadt
Oct. 16, 1925 - Nov. 12, 2001
Doris E. Soderstadt, 76, Independence, died Monday, Nov. 12, 2001, at Independence Regional Health Center.
Mrs. Soderstadt was born Oct. 16, 1925, in Sugar Creek, the daughter of Sterling and Freeda Watkins. She graduated from the Anderson High School with the class of 1943. She had worked in data processing for Armco Steel until her retirement, and was a member of Blue Ridge Boulevard Christian Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Soderstadt.
Her survivors include two sisters, Bess Hampton, Springfield, Mo., and Pat Downs, Holt, Mo., and several nieces and nephews.
Services were held Nov. 16, 2001, at the Speaks Suburban Chapel. Burial was in Oak Ridge Memory Gardens.

Lillian Hutchings
July 31, 1916 - Nov. 19, 2001
Lillian Hutchings, 94, of Clarksville, Ind., formerly of Pineville, Mo., died Monday, Nov. 19, 2001, at Clark County Memorial Hospital in Jeffersonville, Ind., after an illness.
Mrs. Lillian Hutchings was born Aug. 26, 1907, in Charlestown, Ind., to the late Henry A. and Mary (Kempster) Schafer. She had lived in Pineville, Mo., for 50 years before returning to Indiana. A memorial service for Mrs. Lillian Hutchings will be held Friday, Dec. 7, 2001, at 10 a.m. at the Pineville United Methodist Church in Pineville, Mo. The Rev. Doris Schlessman will officiate. At 2 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 7, 2001, the ashes will be interred at the VA Cemetery in Fayetteville, Ark., next to her husband.
Memorial contributions in memory of Mrs. Hutchins may be given to the Pineville United Methodist Church or the Alzheimer’s Association in care of the funeral home.

Ivan W. Rowe
Jan. 13, 1924 - Nov. 27, 2001
Ivan William Rowe, 77, Wheaton, died at 9:40 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2001, at the home of his daughter in Wheaton, following a lengthy illness.
Mr. Rowe was born Jan. 3, 1924, in Stella, Mo., and was a lifelong area resident. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a rural letter carrier for the Stella Post Office, retiring in 1988. He had served on the school board of the Stella Schools, was active in the Stella softball league, a member of the Rocketdyne Road Church of Christ in Neosho. He and Margaret Jean Bankson were married Feb. 2, 1946, in Cedar Town, Ga., and she preceded him in death June 28, 1997.
He is survived by one son, Bill Rowe of Joplin, Mo.; three daughters, Carolyn Ellis of Fairview, Mo., Sharon McBride of Wheaton, Mo., and Melissa Boehnke of Cocopaxi, Parker Mortuary Chapel. He was buried in Carl Junction Cemetery.

Lewis Daniel Houser
Nov. 21, 1911 - Jan. 30, 2002
Lewis Daniel Houser, 90, Gladstone, Mo., died Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2002, in the North Kansas City Hospital in Kansas City, Mo.
Mr. Houser was born Nov. 21, 1911, in McDonald County, Mo., to Charles and Ethel Houser. Upon graduation from high school he entered Calif.; and two grandchildren.
One sister and three brothers preceded him in death.
Graveside services were held Monday, Feb. 4, 2002, in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Neosho, Mo. The Rev. Keith Miles officiated. Memorial gifts may be made to the Blind Association in care of the mortuary.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Knell Mortuary, Carthage, Mo.
