Victor Lee Orler
March 1, 1915-Aug. 23, 2006
Mr. Victor Lee Orler, 91, of Anderson, Mo., ascended to be with his creator on Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2006, at his home with his loving family by his side.
Victor was born on March 1, 1915, to parents John “Butch” Orler and Rose Salvadore Orler in Treece, Kan. His family moved to McDonald County near the Bunker Hill Community when he was five years old. Victor married the love of his life, Effie Laverne Bowers, in Galveston, Tenn., and together they raised seven children in McDonald County. A farmer by trade, he served as presiding judge of the county court from 1974 to 1978 and owned and operated Orler Trucking until his retirement. Victor enjoyed boating and fishing with his family and especially his Caribbean cruising vacations. He was a charter member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Anderson, Mo., which he helped build. Victor was a loving husband and father who always put his family before himself and will be missed but not forgotten.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Robert “Bob” Orler.
Victor is survived by his devoted wife of 47 years, Effie Orler of the home; seven children, Loretta Garrison and husband, Ted, of Camdenton, Mo., Larry Morris and wife, Rose, of Weir, Kan., Connie Allison and husband, Kenneth, of Branson, Mo., David Morris of Joplin, Mo., Deborah Montgomery and husband, Glenn, of Fairview, Mo., Tami Orler Thomas and husband, Steve, of Anderson, Mo., and Teresa Orler of Joplin, Mo.; two brothers, John Orler Jr. and Donald Joe Orler and wife, Barbara, both of Anderson, Mo.; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; along with many other relatives, friends and neighbors who will cherish Victor’s memory.
Funeral services for Mr. Victor Lee Orler were held on Friday, Aug. 25, 2006, at 10 a.m. at the Walker-Dowd Funeral Home Chapel in Anderson, Mo. Brother Millard Box officiated. Burial followed the service at the Tracy Cemetery east of Anderson, Mo. Ted Garrison, Larry Morris, Steve Thomas and Steven Victor Thomas honored Victor’s life by serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were Jason Montgomery, Glenn Montgomery, Kenneth Allison, Justin Montgomery and David Morris.
Friends paid their respects on Thursday, Aug. 24, 2006, from 1 until 7 p.m. at the Walker-Dowd Funeral Home in Anderson, Mo., the family received friends from 6 until 7 p.m.

Letha Irene Mathews
July 13, 1939-Aug. 26, 2006
Letha Irene Mathews, daughter of the late George and Mildred Alberta (Rains) Sissle, was born on July 13, 1939, in Hockerville, Okla. She departed this life on Saturday, Aug. 26, 2006, at her home in Anderson, Mo., at the age of 67.
Letha spent most of her early life in the Miami and Commerce, Okla., area. For several years she worked as a caregiver for various hospitals and nursing home facilities. In 2005 she came to Anderson, Mo., moving from Neosho, Mo., where she spent the last 10 years. Letha enjoyed spending time outdoors tending to the needs of her yard and flower beds. She loved her family immensely, especially all of her grandchildren. Letha was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. She will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all of her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Bill Raynor; and a great-grandson, Fisher Harvill.
Letha is survived by two daughters, Debbie McQuillan and husband, Billy, of Anderson, Mo., and Ruby Walls and husband, Will, of Yale, Okla.; seven grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; three sisters, Hazel Spicer of Tecodti, Calif., and Peggy Drain of Miami, Okla.; a brother, Jack Sissle of Sebastopol, Texas. She was united in marriage to Gary Wallain on July 30, 1988, in Noel, Mo., and together they raised seven children. Patricia taught Business Education at McClelland Community College in Waco, Nevada, Mo., and Stephen Satterlee of Bartlesville, Okla.; along with many other family members and a host of friends that will deeply miss her.
Friends paid their respects on Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2006, from 1 until 8 p.m. at the Walker-Dowd Funeral Home in Anderson, Mo. The family received friends from 6 until 8 p.m.
Funeral services for Patricia Anne Wallain will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 31, 2006, at the New Life Fellowship Church in Anderson, Pastor Tom Ellis will officiate. Burial will follow the service at the Anderson Cemetery in Anderson, Mo. Jess Goff, Gary Wasson, J.B. Dill, Max Wallain, Jimmie Wasson and Harris Steele will honor Patricia’s life by serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Brandon Dill and Tony Fuller.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in loving memory of Patricia may be given to the New Life Fellowship Building Fund in care of the funeral home.
