Diana L. Edwards
Nov. 13, 1946-June 25, 2007
Diana L. Edwards, 60, Goodman, Mo., died Monday morning, June 25, 2007, at her home. She was born Nov. 13, 1946, in Joplin, Mo., to Lewis B. Thompson, Sr. and Helen M. (Martin) Thompson.
Mrs. Edwards was a lifelong area resident, and graduated from the Neosho High School, class of 1964. She worked for Jarden, (Sunbeam, Neosho Products and Buddy L) for 38 years in returns, and was an avid bingo player.
Diana and Larry Edwards were married Nov. 1, 1969, in Neosho, Mo. Larry survives of the home. Additional survivors include a brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Terry Thompson; a sister and brother-in-law, Phyllis and Jerry McBride, all of Neosho; numerous nieces and nephews; and many other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and by a brother, Lewis B. “Butch” Thompson, Jr., Feb. 3, 2006.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday at Clark Chapel of Memories with Billy Martin officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, south of Neosho. Pallbearers will be Travis Harris, Garrett Wencil, Curtis Pace, Matthew McBride, Cameron Crawford and John Buzzard.
Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday from 8 a.m. until 7 p.m., where the family will receive friends from 6 until 7 p.m.

Virginia A Hayes
May 3, 1941-June 23, 2007
Virginia A. Hayes, 66, Goodman, Mo., died at 2:02 p.m., Saturday, June 23, 2007, at Freeman West Hospital, following a lengthy illness. She was born May 3, 1941, in Maysville, Ark., to Floyd and Marie (Baker) Lukens.
Mrs. Hayes moved to the area 34 years ago from Tulsa, Okla. She worked for 33 years at Talbot Wire as a welder. She loved her flowers.
Virginia and Bob Hayes were married Dec. 28, 1958, in Noel, Mo. Bob survives.
Additional survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Ron and Teresa Hayes, Joplin; and Mike and Julia Hayes, San Jose, North Dakota and in the late 1950s moved with his wife to N.H., and Melanie Harrington of Springdale, Ark.; a granddaughter, Nicole Irene Charron of Concord, Texas; a brother, Jonnie Levi Owen and wife, Cynthia, of Miami, Okla.; two brothers-in-law, Tom Goble and wife, Mary, of Texas; two sisters, Bernadine Leslie of Wishram, Wash., and Iona Tyler of Grove, Okla.; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other family and friends.
Funeral services for Betty Marie Biven will be 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26, 2007, in the Noel Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Homes with Bro. Don Law officiating. Burial will follow in the Lee Cemetery near Sulphur Springs, Ark. Those honoring her life by serving as pallbearers are Jerry Keene, Billy Law, Larry Law, Melvin Carpenter, Walter Craig and Terry Law. Garrell Law will serve as an honorary pallbearer. Tishia Myra Lusk
Nov. 14, 1909-Oct. 21, 2007
Tishia Myra Lusk, 97, of Lebanon, Mo., a homemaker, was called to heaven at 10:58 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 21, 2007, St. John’s Regional Medical Center, Joplin, Mo., following a short illness.
Tishia began her journey on Nov. 14, 1909, in Scipo, Okla., born to the late Floyd L. and Buna (Daniels) Smith. She married Raymond Robert Lusk on Feb. 5, 1927, in McAlester, Okla. Raymond and Tishia made their home in Jenks, Okla., before moving to Lebanon in 1956. Tishia enjoyed reading, playing cards with neighbors, eating out with friends and family and adored her pets dearly. She was known for her beautiful flower and vegetable gardens, generously sharing her fresh produce with family and friends. Tishia was a longtime dedicated member of the First United Methodist Church of Lebanon, Mo.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Gaba Brewster in January of 1990; and loving husband of 65 years, Raymond Robert Lusk on Jan. 18, 1992.
Survivors include her niece, Peggy Davis of Anderson, Mo.; two nephews, F.A. Brewster of McAlester, Okla., and Jimmy Brewster of Stone Bank. She was a longtime faithful member of the Southwest City Full Gospel Church, where she taught Sunday school and sang in the choir. She and James enjoyed traveling the countryside and found great joy in each others company.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 46 years, James Elsworth Leas on May 7, 2001.
She is survived by her two daughters, Brenda Davis and husband, Larry, of Grove, Okla., and Kathy Keith and husband, Bud, of Tiff City, Mo.; a son, Brent Leas and wife, Stephanie, of Bella Vista, Ark.; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson; a sister, Melba Weaver and husband, George, of Fairland, Okla.; two brothers, Lloyd Barnes and wife, Lynn, of Southwest City, Mo., and Lawrence Barnes of Vian, Okla.; a sister in-law, Twila Stiles of Stigler, Okla.; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other family and friends.
Funeral services for Lila Darlene Leas were 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, 2007, at the Southwest City Full Gospel Church with Pastors Richard Hart and Mark Short officiating. Burial followed in the Southwest City Cemetery. Those honoring her life by serving as pallbearers were Frank Woods, Mike Meek, Howard Meek, Larry Shields, Jeff Jones and Jeff Cooper. The grandsons served as honorary pallbearers; Jared Clark, Jeremy Schoonover, Kyle Jackson, William Clark, Josiah Leas, Jordan Schoonover, Dakota Clark and Levi Keith. The family received friends on Friday evening from 5 until 7 in the Southwest City Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Homes. Memorials are being directed to the Alzheimer's Association and contributions may be left at the funeral home.
