Stauffer, Virgil Dene October 4, 2003
Virgil Dene Stauffer, age 5 months, of Versailles, born April 16, 2003 at Bothwell Regional Health Center in Sedalia, Missouri, the son of Reuben and Elizabeth L. Weaver Stauffer. He is survived by his parents, Reuben and Elizabeth Stauffer of the home; one brother, Christopher Stauffer of the home; paternal grandparents Alvin and Lizzie Stauffer, of New Holland, PA; maternal grandparents Noah and Edna Weaver, of Versailles, MO; paternal great-grandparents, Anna Stauffer of New Holland, PA, and Martin Zeiset of Narvon, PA; maternal great-grandparents Elizabeth Weaver of Fleetwood, PA, and Lydia Leid of Kutztown, PA; many other relatives and friends. Funeral services were at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 8, at Versailles Mennonite Church near Versailles, with Bishop Ray Weaver, Pastor Leroy Martin and Pastor Joel Martin officiating. Cemetery near Latham. Arrangements are under the direction of the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home of Versailles.

Barrows, Fern Adell October 3, 2003
Fern Adell Barrows, age 101, of Versailles, born September 29, 1902 in Cambridge, Nebraska, the daughter of Joe and Nellie Clary Wayman. She was united in marriage on May 8, 1922 with Lyle J. Barrows, who preceded her in death by one son, Eugene L. Barrows on February 3, 1978. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 7, at the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home in Versailles, with Rev. Jasper Hunter officiating. Hymns were sung by Rev. Robert D. Ross accompanied at the organ by Virginia Ross. Cemetery near Versailles. Casketbearers were Darrel Gunn, Jim Daniels, Jack Hutchison, Todd Wilhelm, Tom Daniels, and Gerald Yarnell. Honorary casketbearers were Grover Griffin, Glen Deffenbaugh, Ted Hitchcock and Harold Hildreth. Eastern Star Services were held at 6:00 p.m. Monday, October 6, at the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home in Versailles. Arrangements are under the direction of the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home of Versailles.

Albers, Betty Belle October 11, 2003
Betty Belle Albers, age 86, of Versailles, born August 30, 1917 in Houston, Texas, the daughter of Warren and Lucille Moore Boles. She death on February 5, 1965. Mrs. Albers was a homemaker and member of the Methodist Church. She is survived by cousins, Pat & Larry Stephens of Mt. Vernon, Illinois, and their daughters, Rachel Terrell of Paris, Tennessee, and Susan Stephens of Tuscan, Arizona; Jack Moore and Joe McArthur; brother-in-law Harold Albers and wife Ella Ruth of Boonville, many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 16, at the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home in Versailles, with Rev. Jeanie Leeper officiating. Cemetery. Friends may call from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home in Versailles. Arrangements are under the direction of the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home of Versailles.

Alexander, Betty Jane September 14, 2003
Betty Jane Alexander, age 83, of Versailles, born April 12, 1920 in Orrville, Ohio, the daughter of Walter and Gail Harriet Steiner Stocksdale. She was united in marriage on February 24, 1946 in Orrville, Ohio with Lloyd Alexander Jr., who survives of the home. She graduated from Canton Business College and was a bookkeeper for Shearer Farm Equipment for 19 years in Ohio, and later worked at the Good Shepherd Care Center in Versailles. She was a member of Glensted United Methodist Church and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter #410 in Versailles. In addition to her husband she is survived by four daughters, Louise Marie Dudgeon of Fredericktown, Ohio, Linda Kay Prochazka of West Salem, Ohio, Lou Ann McCullough of Shreve, Ohio, and Lisa Joan Bias of Versailles; one brother, Irvin Stocksdale of Wooster, Ohio; nine grandchildren, many other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents she was preceded in Interment was in the Versailles passed away Monday evening, September 1, 2003 at Ozark Care Center in Osage Beach. She was passed away Friday afternoon, October 3, 2003 at the Good Shepherd Care Center in Versailles. She was death on December 4, 1966. Mrs. Barrows was a retired Registered Nurse and homemaker. She was a member of Hopewell Union Church, member and Past Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter #410 in Versailles, member of the Rebecca Lodge for 75 years, member of Miller Rebecca Lodge #324 in Eldon, the Fortuna Senior Citizens, Willing Workers Club, was a 4-H Leader and Extension Club member, and was Mrs. Liberty in the 4th of July Parade with Buffalo Bill in North Platte, Nebraska. She is survived by four grandchildren, Paula S. Campbell of Harvey, Lousiana, Linda C. Hotinger of Harrisonburg, Virginia, Jean Ann Turner of Gurnee, Illinois, and Gary Barrows of Williamsburg, Virginia; three great-grandchildren, Matthew and Elizabeth Turner, and Jennifer Campbell; a daughter-in-law, Sarah Hutchison Barrows Gares, of Versailles, many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in Interment was in the Hopewell passed away Tuesday morning, September 16, 2003 at Lake Regional Hospital in Osage Beach. He was Interment will be in the St. Patrick Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home of Laurie.
