GARY JONES
Gary Jones, 45, of Stone Mountain, Ga., passed away Monday, May 22, 2000.
Funeral services were 8 p.m. Thursday, May 25, Decatur, Ga.
Graveside services are 10 a.m. Saturday, May 27, at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. to service time Saturday at D.W. Newcomer’s Sons Floral Hills Chapel.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Atlanta Area School for the Deaf, 890 North Indian Creek Drive, Clarkston, GA 30021.
He was born at St. Mary’s Hospital, Kansas City, Mo., in 1953, the son of Dolores and James Martin Jones.
He attended Van Horn High School in Kansas City.
He received his bachelor of arts at the University of Northern Colorado in 1975, a master of education from Georgia State University in 1980, a specialist in education degree from Georgia State in 1993, and a doctorate from Georgia State in 1995.
Gary began his teaching career 25 years ago at the Atlanta Area School for the Deaf.
A well-respected and loved teacher, he was promoted to supervisor, and most recently held the position of superintendent.
He will be truly missed by the students and staff, who held a memorial service for him at the school on Tuesday, May 23.
Gary is survived by his mother, Dolores Jones, Lee’s Summit; his brother and family, Michael Jones, Mission Viejo, Calif.; and long-time companion and partner, Richard Yansick, Stone Mountain.

GEORGE ERNEST LITTLE
George E. Little, 78, of Lee’s Summit passed away Monday, May 22, 2000, at East Texas Medical Center.
Funeral services were 1 p.m. Friday, May 26, at D.W. Newcomer’s Sons Floral Hills Chapel, burial in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
Friends called from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 25, at the chapel.
The family suggests contributions to the Longview Chapel, Lee’s Summit, or Monte Vista Christian Church, Albuquerque, N.M.
George was born April 28, 1922, in Joplin, Mo.
He retired from the U.S. Air Force in 1963 after 22 years of service.
He flew many missions in the European Theater during World War II.
He later worked for General Electric retiring in 1986.
He was prior member of the Monte Vista Christian Church, and current member of Longview Chapel.
He was also a Mason and Shriner.
George was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Little.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Elizabeth “Betty Sue” Kenney Little, of the home; two daughters and a son-in-law, Gina and Johnny Blain, Conroe, Texas; and Cynthia Little, Rio Rancho, N.M.; a son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Teresa Little; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

OPAL MOHLER
Opal Mohler, 95, of Lee’s Summit died Thursday, March 25, 2000, at Lee’s Summit Hospital.
Funeral services are 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 30, at Langsford Funeral Home, with burial in Lee’s Summit Cemetery, Lee’s Summit.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. to service time Tuesday at the funeral home.

CLARENCE R. TEVIS
Clarence R. Tevis, 71, of Seneca, Kan., died Wednesday, May 24, at the Nemaha Valley Community Hospital, Seneca.
He had been in failing health for the past year.
Funeral services are 11 a.m. Saturday, May 27, at Lauer Funeral Home, Seneca, with burial in Seneca City Cemetery.
The family meets with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 26, at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the First Congregational United Church of Christ, and sent in care of the family.
He was born July 23, 1928, in Chillicothe, Mo., the son of Thurman and Lecta Ramsey Mills.
Clarence graduated from Chillicothe High School in 1946.
He worked operating the projector at the local theater.
He also worked a short time in Kansas City.
On Dec. 4, 1947, he married Corrine Abernathy in Chillicothe.
Clarence began employment with J.C. Penney at Chillicothe on Dec. 10, 1947, where he worked for five years.
He worked in Topeka, Kan., and south Omaha, Neb., as an assistant manager.
In 1962, he was transferred to the J.C. Penney store in Seneca where he was manager until the store closed in 1987.
He received sales achievement awards from the company for dedication and service.
He retired after the store closed.
He was a member of the First Congregational Church of Christ in Seneca, where he served on the Board of Deacons.
He served on the Board of Directors for the Citizens State Bank, and was past president of the Seneca Chamber of Commerce.
Clarence is survived by his wife, Corrine, of the home; a son, Steven Tevis, Normal, Ill.; a daughter, Connie Johnson, Lee’s Summit; a brother, Robert Tevis, Bloomington, Ill.; two sisters, Betty Robinson, Edmond, Okla., and Mary Lou McIrvin, Chillicothe; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

MARVIN G. KEISKER
Marvin G. Keisker, 81, of Lee’s Summit died Friday, May 26, 2000, at Baptist Hospital.
Funeral services were 9 a.m. Wednesday, May 31, at Lee’s Summit United Methodist Church, with graveside services at 4 p.m. Wednesday at the Oakland Cemetery, Chamois, Mo.
Friends called from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 30, at the Langsford Funeral Home, Lee’s Summit.
Memorial contributions may be made to the memorial fund at the Chamois United Methodist Church, or the Parkinson’s Support Center.
Mr. Keisker was born Jan. 30, 1919, in Aud, Mo.
He retired after 40 years as a public school teacher and administrator.
He was a member of the Lee’s Summit United Methodist Church, and past president of the Lee’s Summit Rotary Club.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. D.F. Keisker; and two brothers, Cliff Keisker and Darwin Keisker.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Martha Jane Keisker, of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Larry M. and Dr. Louise Keisker, Lee’s Summit; two grandchildren and a grandson-in-law, Steve Keisker, Lee’s Summit, and Shari and Kevin Johnson, Geneva, Switzerland; and two great-grandchildren, Duncan and Brooke Johnson.

DELLA MAE LAMBERT
Della Mae Lambert, 85, of Lee’s Summit died Sunday, May 28, 2000, at John Knox Village Care Center.
Services are 11 a.m. Thursday, June 1, at Mt. Moriah and Freeman Chapel, I-435 and Holmes Road, with interment in Mt. Moriah Cemetery.
Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the chapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the First Baptist Church of Lee’s Summit.
Della was born Jan. 8, 1915, and raised by faithful and loving grandparents, Will and Delia Havens.
She was a graduate of Old Manual High School.
Della worked most of her life, first to help support the family as her husband, Paul, attended college and seminary, and later to educate each of the four children.
She completed ABA banking industry courses, and was an exchange teller and assistant cashier for the Columbia National Bank for many years.
She was active in Paul’s churches before he entered denominational work and was active for many years in the Swope Park Baptist Church.
Della enjoyed traveling, and accompanied Paul on trips to several Baptist World Alliance meetings.
These and other travels took her to every continent save Antarctica.
When an automobile accident ended her work in banking, Della devoted herself to church life, homemaking and grandmothering.
In recent years, Della attended services at the First Baptist Church of Lee’s Summit.
She was preceded in death by a son, Paul M. Lambert, Jr.
She is survived by her husband, Dr. Paul M. Lambert, Lee’s Summit; a daughter and son-in-law, Donna M. Lambert and Dr. Robert J. Murney, Springfield, Mo.; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Dennis E. Lambert, Washington, D.C., and Dr. Daniel M. and Carolyn Lambert, Baldwin City, Kan.; a daughter-in-law and husband, Carol Lambert and Col. James B. Spence, Auburn, Ala.; grandchildren and spouses, Julie Lambert Crider, Jill Lambert Sasse, Allison Runge-Briner, Dr. Alan and Traci Runge, Andrew M. and Michelle Runge, Paula and Tony Runge-Voris, Kristian and Jeff Lambert-Hatfield, Dennis M. Lambert and Robin Fleet; great-grandchildren, Katie Crider, Taylor Sasse, Caroline Sasse, Rachel Sasse, Julia Runge, Alec Runge and Wade Voris.

RENA MARIE MAHUIKI
Rena Marie Mahuiki, 66, of Hartville, Mo., passed away Thursday, May 25, 2000, at the University of Kansas Medical Center.
Graveside services are 11 a.m. Thursday, June 1, at Oak Ridge Memory Gardens.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Rena Mahuiki Memorial Fund, c/o Speaks Memorial Chapel, P.O. Box 259, Independence, MO 64050.
Rena was born May 15, 1934, in Foreman, Ark., and lived in Lexington, Mo., before moving to Hartville 13 years ago.
She is survived by her husband Lourence Ioene Mahuiki, Aiea, Hawaii; four sons, David Canady, Dale Rose and Paul Rose, all of Hartville, and Gerald Mahuiki, Florida; two daughters, Julie Laita-Zoroya, Dover-Foxcroft, Maine, and Laura Bryan, Lee’s Summit; two brothers, Robert Whitmore, Colorado, and Kirby Whitmore, Louisiana; 14 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

PAUL H. MAUGHERMAR
Paul H. Maughermar, 87, of Lee’s Summit passed away Friday, May 26, 2000, at John Knox Village Care Center.
Cremation.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Maughermar; and nieces and nephews.
