Harley Coleman, 81, Peculiar, died April 17, 2004, at Research Hospital of Belton.
Cremation.
Inurnment will be at a later date.
Memorial services are at 10 a.m., April 22, at Wallace Funeral Home in Pleasant Hill; Rev. Albert McDowell will officiate.

SHARON FAYE DARR
Sharon Faye Darr, 57, of Kansas City, Mo., passed away unexpectedly, after a brief illness, on Wednesday, April 14, 2004, at Truman Medical Center West in Kansas City.
Funeral services were at noon on Saturday, April 17, at Charter Funeral Home, Kansas City; burial in Crescent Hill Cemetery, Adrian, Mo.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Sunshine Center in Independence.
Sharon was born Aug. 17, 1946, in Kansas City, the daughter of J. Carl and Wanda Faye (Stevens) Minzes.
Sharon was employed by the City of Kansas City Missouri Aviation Department.
She was a member of Wesley Heights United Methodist Church in Kansas City.
She was also a volunteer in support of the Sunshine Center.
She was preceded in death by her father, J. Carl Minzes; grandparents, Cora Craig and Katie Minzes; and nephew, Christopher Minzes.
Survivors include her mother, Wanda Minzes; brothers, John Minzes and Dennis Minzes; and numerous nephews, nieces and other family members.
May peace and love be with you for all eternity. Smile, sweet Sharon, you are home at last.

GARY D. DURHAM
Gary D. Durham, 66, Belton, died April 13, 2004, at his home.
Funeral services were at 10 a.m., April 17, at Wallace Funeral Home, Pleasant Hill; Rev. Preston Sanders officiated.

GEORGE J. GEENEN
George J. Geenen, 68, of Lee’s Summit, died of melanoma, on April 18, 2004.
Burial will be in the family plot in Sutton, Neb.
George was born Oct. 23, 1935, in Beloit, Kan., to George Geenen Sr. and Luella M. (Zinnerle) Geenen.
He was a graduate of Grinnell Kansas High School in 1953.
He graduated from Fort Hays Kansas State College with a bachelor of arts degree in political science and obtained a master of science degree in library science from Kansas State Teachers College in Emporia, Kan.
He served as a rifleman with the 26th infantry from 1958 to 1960.
He held positions as a reference librarian at Peru State College in Nebraska, a professional library cataloger at Rockhurst College in Kansas City, and had been an archives technician at the National Archives and Records Administration in Kansas City since 1978.
He was a long-time member of First Baptist Church of Raytown.
He was also a life member of the American Library Association and the Fort Hays Kansas State College Alumni Association.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Marie Karr.
George is survived by two nephews, Stephen Karr, Black Forest, Colo., and Andrew Karr, Welsonville, Ore.; and various cousins.

MARGARET ANN HERNDON
Margaret Ann Herndon, 65, Lee’s Summit, passed away April 16, 2004, at her home.
Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 20, at Our Lady of the Presentation Catholic Church, Lee’s Summit.
Graveside services were at 1 p.m. Tuesday, in Rich Hill, Mo.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Margaret’s Foundation Fund or Kansas City Hospice.
Margaret was born Sept. 29, 1938, in Fort Scott, Kan. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Mary Sheehy; a sister, Helen Sheehy; and two brothers, Merle and Edward Sheehy.
Margaret is survived by her husband of 47 years, James Rodger Herndon; two daughters, Ann Mickunas, Independence, and Lisa Norris, Pleasant Hill; two sisters, Irene Sheehy, Lee’s Summit, and Catherine Kern, Rich Hill; two brothers, Bill Sheehy, Charlotte, N.C., and Joe Sheehy, Purcell, Okla.; three grandchildren; 14 nieces and nephews; and a large, loving, extended family.
She will be loved and missed.

WALDO W. “WALLY” LARSEN
Waldo W. “Wally” Larsen, 85, of Des Moines, Iowa, formerly of Kansas City, passed away Thursday, April 15, 2004.
Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 20, at Park Lawn Chapel; burial in Mount Moriah Cemetery, Kansas City.
Wally was born Aug. 26, 1918, in Sigourney, Iowa.
He retired as a boiler safety supervisor for the State of Iowa, and served with the 100th Division of the U.S. Army during World War II.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Adeline; and a daughter, Lucille Million.
Survivors include his wife, Marian, of the home; two daughters, Stephanie (Kirby) Kropf, Harrisonville, and Susan (Steve) Lynch, Lee’s Summit; two sons, Jeff (Marci) Larsen, Independence, and Raymond Larsen, Des Moines; a step-son, John (Anne) Thomas, Middle-bury, Ind.; a brother, Melvin Larsen, Shawnee, Kan.; a sister, Lillianne Sparks, Kansas City; 22 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

EMMETT GUY MYERS
Emmett Guy Myers, 60, of Lone Jack, passed away after a difficult and courageous two-year battle against renal cell cancer, on April 9, 2004. Cremation.
A memorial celebration of his life will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 24, at New Liberty Baptist Church in Oak Grove, Mo.
Memorial contributions may be made to Crossroad Hospice, 8540 Blue Ridge Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64138; or Cancer Action, 13905 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055.
Emmett Guy Myers was born on Mother’s Day, May 9, 1943, in Nebo, Mo., to Hartley Myers and Isabell (Lawson) Myers.
He married Barbara Ann McCormick on March 3, 1962, and from this union, two children were born, a son and a daughter.
Emmett moved to Lone Jack in 1966.
He was employed by Fleming Foods in Kansas City, and retired in 1995 after 31 1/2 years of service.
He enjoyed tractor shows, parades and restoring antique tractors.
His favorite pastimes were visiting, eating, laughter and dancing.
Emmett was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Donald Myers.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara (McCormick) Myers; son, Phil Douglas Myers, of the home; daughter, Laura Myers, Lee’s Summit; sisters, Suzy Beaty and husband, Robert, Thousand Oaks, Calif., Phyllis Miller and husband, Jerry, Whidbey Island, Wash., and Geri Lowther, Channel Island, Calif.; brothers, Bill Myers, Omaha, Neb., and Hank Myers, Oxnard, Calif.; and 36 nieces and nephews.
He was known as “Uncle Emmett” and “Buddy” to many countless relatives, friends and neighbors.
He never knew a stranger.
He will be remembered most of all for bringing laughter and joy to all who knew him.

HELEN I. WIEBOLD
Helen I. Wiebold, 84, of Kansas City, Mo., passed away Friday, April 16, 2004, at Truman Medical Center Lakewood.
Services are at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 22, at Park Lawn Funeral Home, 8251 Hillcrest Road, Kansas City.
Visitation is from 10 to 11 a.m., one hour prior to services, at Park Lawn Chapel.
The family suggests contributions to Kansas City Hospice.
Helen was born June 5, 1919, in Kansas City, to Howard and Tressie Jones.
She was a homemaker.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Aletha Jean Jones and Dorothy Bidwell; and her husband, Paul W. Wiebold, in 1982.
Helen is survived by her daughter, Marsha Smith; granddaughter, Rhonda Hendricks and husband, Jeff; two great-grandsons, Eric and Ryan Hendricks; one brother, Howard Jones and wife, Georgia; and one sister, Donna Meissen and husband, Bernie.

MAXINE MARIE MOCK GOODMAN
Maxine Marie Mock Goodman, 73, Lee’s Summit, passed away Monday, April 12, 2004, at Lee’s Summit Hospital.
Funeral services are at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 17, at Langsford Funeral Home; burial in Floral Hills East Cemetery.
Visitation is from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, one hour prior to services, at the funeral home.
Maxine was born March 7, 1931, in Independence.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Raymond Mock; and infant son, Larry Chris Mock.
She is survived by her husband, Chuck Goodman, three children, Brenda Krohn, David Mock and Gary Mock; step-daughter, Karen Marie Giles; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Darlene Leighter and Sherrelyn Bell.
