ELSIE REBECCA FRISTOE
Elsie Rebecca Fristoe, of Lee’s Summit, passed away Friday, Feb. 27, 2004, at her home surrounded by family after a courageous battle with cancer.
Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 2, at Langsford Funeral Home; burial in Lee’s Summit Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to John Knox Hospice.
She was born Elsie Rebecca Crowder on March 21, 1919, in Sedalia, Mo., to Katherine Marie (Hansen) Crowder and James Crowder.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, William Lee Crowder and Orvil Nelson Crowder; and sisters, Jennie Sophia Brown, Rose Louella Williams, Helen Katherine Moore and Betty Jean Detherage.
Elsie leaves her three children, Joel H. Fristoe Jr. and wife, Janice, Lee’s Summit, Rozelle Nadine Flasschoen and husband, George, Lee’s Summit, and Clarence Eugene Fristoe, Kansas City, Mo.; brothers, James Henry Crowder and Joseph Paul Crowder; sister, Mary Frances Coe; three grandchildren, Daren Scott Fristoe and wife, Jody, Jodi Lynn Fristoe, and Robert Alan Myers and wife, Beth; five great-grandchildren, Adam Conor Fristoe, Emma Taylor Fristoe, Lee Anna Ruth Myers, Josie Janae Lauren Fristoe, and Luke Alexander Myers; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Elsie was a true caregiver and will be missed deeply.

RUTH MARJORIE MCKINLEY
Ruth Marjorie McKinley, 89, of Forsyth, Mo., formerly of Lee’s Summit, passed away Thursday, Feb. 26, 2004, at Forsyth Nursing and Rehabilitation.
Cremation.
Services will be held at a later date.
She was born Oct. 25, 1914, in Corsicana, Mo., to William and Estella Dickson.
Ruth was a retired postal clerk.
She had lived most of her life in the Lee’s Summit area, moving to Forsyth just recently.
She was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Lee’s Summit.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ralph; and one son.
She is survived by her grandson, Shawn McKinley, Branson, Mo.; her daughter-in-law, Sandra McKinley, Lee’s Summit; and two great-grandsons.

EILEEN RICHARDSON
Eileen Richardson, 93, of Lee’s Summit, passed away Saturday, Feb. 28, 2004, at her home.
Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 3, at Langsford Funeral Home; burial in Blue Springs Cemetery.
Friends may call from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday, prior to services, at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Crossroad Hospice.
Eileen was born June 13, 1910, in Cass County, Mo., to John and Dolly “Dudley” James.
She taught school for 41 years.
She was a member of Lee’s Summit Christian Church.
Eileen was preceded in death by her husband, Noel Richardson; three brothers; and two sisters.
She is survived by one sister, Lou Belle Bunch, Lee’s Summit; and several nieces and nephews.

HOWARD L. STONE SR.
Howard L. Stone Sr., 78, of Lee’s Summit, passed away Tuesday, March 2, 2004, at his home, with his wife of 53 years, Harriet, and his loving family.
Funeral services are at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 6, at Langsford Funeral Home; burial in Lee’s Summit Cemetery.
Friends may call from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, at the funeral home.
The family suggests memorial contributions to Kansas City Hospice, 9221 Ward Parkway, Suite 100, Kansas City, MO 64114; Clear Point Community Church, 312 S.W. Sunset, Lee’s Summit, MO 64081; or Lee’s Summit Senior Center, P.O. Box 510, Lee’s Summit, MO 64063.
Howard was born July 4, 1925, in Pinckneyville, Ill., the youngest son of Jesse and Ella Stone.
Howard was in the U.S. Army Infantry in World War II and Korea Ambulance Division U.S. Army.
In 1950, Howard came to Kansas City to attend automotive training school for veterans.
Howard married Harriet Perigin on June 9, 1951.
He worked for Campbell-Frazier, Pittman Manufacturing, and retired from the City of Kansas City Public Works Department in 1987.
He was a life member of the DAV#2 VFW 8100 and American Legion Post #189.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his stillborn son, John Wayne; a sister, Mary Hart, Kentucky; a brother, William R. Stone, Ill.; and a special cousin, Paul W. Jones, Missouri.
He is survived by his wife, of the home; son, Howard Stone Jr. and wife, Vickie, Lee’s Summit; daughter, Sharon Leonard and husband, Frank, Independence; grandson, Matt Stone and wife, Andrea and great-granddaughter, Haven, Blue Springs; grandson, Scott Stone and wife, Rachel and great-granddaughter, Brooke, Lee’s Summit; brother, Clifford Stone and wife, Pauline, Pinckneyville; sister-in-law, Maxine Stone, Illinois; nephews, Larry and Jerry Stone, Illinois; niece, Carol (Stone) Berry and husband, Ken, Illinois; and nephew, Ron Hart and wife, Glenda, Kentucky.

LEROY BUSICK
Leroy Busick, 79, of Sedalia, Mo., passed away Thursday, Feb. 19, 2004, at Bothwell Hospital.

RICHARD “BUTCH” R. THORESON
Richard “Butch” R. Thoreson, 74, of Lee’s Summit, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2004, at Research Medical Center.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, at Langsford Funeral Home; burial in Floral Hills East Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to American Stroke Foundation, 5350 W. 94th Terrace, Shawnee Mission, Kan., 66207.
Butch was born in Janesville, Wis., the son of Sophia Synstegard and Selmer Thoreson.
He attended school in Lake Geneva, Wis.
He served in the U.S. Army from Feb. 14, 1951 until Feb. 14, 1953.
He married Sally Fredrickson on Dec. 12, 1953, and moved to Lee’s Summit in 1965.
Butch worked at Martin Senour Automotive Paint for seven years, and was a NAPA store owner from 1971 to 1994.
He was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Lee’s Summit.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Butch is survived by his wife, Sally Thoreson, of the home; three children, Rhonda Thoreson, Bryan Thoreson and wife, Mary, and Scott Thoreson and wife, Debra; one brother, Bradley Thoreson and wife, Gail; four grandchildren, Jason Boudreaux, Nathan Thoreson, Holly Thoreson and Denise Thoreson; four nieces; and one nephew.

Mary Lou McBrayer, 71, of Lee’s Summit, passed away Friday, Feb. 20, 2004.

O.C. “BOOTS” WALLACE
O.C. “Boots” Wallace, 79, of Lee’s Summit, passed away Friday, Feb. 20, 2004, at Truman Medical Center-Lakewood.
Graveside services were at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 24, at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Higginsville, Mo.
Memorial contributions may be made to Kansas City Hospice.
Boots was born Sept. 15, 1924, in Wheatcroft, Ky.
He was a member of Masonic Lodge No. 263 in Lee’s Summit, and had been a Mason for more than 50 years.
He was a World War II Army Veteran and a proud Teamster for more than 50 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister; and two brothers.
Boots is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Wallace, of the home; three sons, Rick Wallace and wife, Patti, Kingsville, Mo., Mike Wallace and wife, Cathy, Lee’s Summit, and Ron Wallace, Nashville, Tenn.; three daughters, Donna McPeek and husband, Patrick, Phoenix, Ariz., Dori Wallace-Koch and husband, Drake, Kansas City, Mo., and Diane Thornton-Wallace, Weatherford, Texas; seven grandchildren, David, Sara, Emily, Abigail, Jacy, Mikenzi and Skylar; and two great-grandchildren, Megan and Ryan.
