TROY - James S. Eaklor, 68, of Troy, died Saturday, Feb. 7, 2004, at Lincoln County Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Troy.
A Mass will begin at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 10, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Troy. Father Tom Wissler will officiate. Burial will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Troy.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. today and from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at McCoy & Blossom Funeral Home in Troy.
Mr. Eaklor was born Sept. 27, 1935, in Rock Hill to Raymond and Mildred Cooper Eaklor.
He and his wife, Pat, were married April 16, 1955, in Waterloo, Ill. She survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Vickie (David) Kaimann of Troy; one son, Jim Eaklor of Troy and fiancé, Lori Mudd of Troy; one sister, Janet Merkt of Florissant; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one son, Timmy Eaklor, who died in 1974.
Mr. Eaklor was a union plumber. He had served in the U.S. Air Force Reserves.
Memorials may be made to Cardinal Glennon Hospital.

Dorothy Starmer
Shelbina
March 21, 1924 - Feb. 8, 2004
SHELBINA - Dorothy Starmer, 79, of Shelbina, died at 4:35 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 8, 2004, at Macon Health Care Center in Macon.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 10, at Durham Cemetery in Durham. The Rev. Jim Bilbro will officiate.
Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. Tuesday at Greening-Eagan-Hayes Funeral Home in Shelbina.
Mrs. Starmer was born March 21, 1924, in Mayflower, Ark., to George Ellis and Dicie Violet Bowles Chance.
She was married to Emmett (Jay) Starmer on June 6, 1956, in Bucklin. He preceded her in death.
Survivors include two children, Gorman Ellis Patrick of Illinois and Judy Ann Gough of Shelbina; one stepdaughter, Faye Boyles of Shelbina; seven grandchildren, Linda Boyles of Palmyra, Jack Boyles and Anna Maubach, both of Shelbina, Darla Renfro and Donna Paninski, both of Phoenix, Ariz., Michelle Wray of Macon and Dicie Patrick of Michigan; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.
Mrs. Starmer was a Baptist by faith.

Donna Sue Summers
Foley
Oct. 15, 1946 - Feb. 6, 2004
ELSBERRY - Donna Sue Summers, 57, of rural Foley, died Friday, Feb. 6, 2004, at her home.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry. The Rev. Gary Harrison will officiate. Burial will be at Elsberry City Cemetery.
Mrs. Summers was born Oct. 15, 1946, in Utica, Miss, to Gaston and Annie Bell Butler Tony.
She married Jimmie La Donn Summers on Sept. 10, 1966, in Hayward, Calif. He survives.
Also surviving are one son, Phillip Earl Summers of Peru, Ind.; one daughter, Rhonda Mae Summer of Foley; one granddaughter; one brother, Frank James Andrusky and wife, Lorraine, of Hamilton, Mont.; one sister, Charlene Weathers of Hugo, Okla.; several nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Gaston Tony; her mother, Annie Bell Andrusky; and her stepfather, Frank Andrusky.
Mrs. Summers graduated from Tennyson High School in Hayward, Calif.
Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice, in care of the funeral home.

Jamie Lyn Griffin
Vandalia
April 19, 1984 - Feb. 7, 2004
LOUISIANA - Jamie Lyn Griffin, 19, of Vandalia, died Saturday, Feb. 7, 2004, in Vandalia.
Funeral services for Ms. Griffin will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 11, at Collier Funeral Home in Louisiana. Burial will be at Riverview Cemetery in Louisiana.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 10, at the funeral home.
Ms. Griffin was born April 19, 1984, in Nierenberg, Germany, to John Allen and Deanna Kemry Griffin.
Survivors include her parents of Vandalia; three sisters, Leanna L. Griffin, Ashley D. Griffin and Johnna Mae Griffin, all of the home; her maternal grandparents, Robert W. and Bertha A. Kemry of Bowling Green; her paternal grandmother, Nancy E. Griffin, of Beaver Creek, Ohio; numerous aunts and uncles; 35 cousins; and 13 great-cousins.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Clyde J. Griffin, in 1999.
Ms. Griffin was a 2003 graduate of Van-Far High School. She was a member of First Baptist Church and had worked at Tri-County Nursing Home.
Memorials may be made to the family.

J. Glenwood Wisdom

March 8, 1935 - Feb. 6, 2004
HANNIBAL - J. Glenwood Wisdom, 68, of Center, died Friday, Feb. 6, 2004, at his home.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 10, at the Tabernacle of Praise Church in Hannibal. The Rev. Delmar Blase will officiate. Burial with full military rites by Emmette J. Shields American Legion Post No. 55 will be at Center Cemetery in Center. James O'Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Bienhoff Funeral Home in Center.
Mr. Wisdom was born March 8, 1935, in Crawford County to Pressie and Bessie Maude Blake Wisdom.
He was married to Belva Reynolds on April 16, 1954, in Hannibal. She survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Bruce Wisdom and wife, Carol, and Randy Wisdom and wife, Karen, all of Center; one daughter Cheryl Mack and husband, Greg, of Perry; two sisters, Freda Craft of Center and Pat Bridgeman and husband, Bob, of Center; eight grandchildren; Erin Mack, Jaymee Wisdom Quinn and husband, Joe, Jonathon Mack, Daniel Mack, Sarah Whistler, Emily Wisdom, Dustin Wisdom and Ethan Mack; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mr. Wisdom was self-employed in the timber business for several years before retiring from Atlantic Buildings in Hannibal.
He served three years in the National Guard and five years in the Army Reserves. Mr. Wisdom loved his kids and grandkids and enjoyed spending time with them. He attended Tabernacle of Praise Church in Hannibal.
Memorials may be made to the Center First Responders and/or the Tabernacle of Praise Building Fund.
Pallbearers will be Jonathon Mack, Daniel Mack, Greg Mack, Dustin Wisdom, Joe Quinn, Derald Craft and Dustin Wisdom.
Honorary pallbearers will be Erin Mack, Jaymee Wisdom Quinn, Sarah Whistler, Emily Wisdom and Ethan Mack.

Ann McCune
MONTGOMERY CITY - Ann McCune, of Montgomery City, died at 8:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 3, 2002, at Boone County Hospital in Columbia.
Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 6, at Faith Baptist Church. Burial was at Montgomery City Cemetery.
Survivors include her husband, Albert McCune of Montgomery City; one daughter, Dolores Helbing of New London; four grandchildren, Deana Lane, Fred Helbing, Tim Helbing and Ann Turner, all of New London; 14 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
The family wishes to include as survivors, one son-in-law, H. Fred Helbing; three granddaughters-in-law, Lynn Helbing, Debi Helbing, and Lorna Helbing of Florence, S.C.; one grandson-in-law, Jay Turner; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one grandson, John Helbing.
Memorials may be made to Faith Baptist Church of Montgomery City.

Beverly Berendzen
HANNIBAL - Beverly Cunningham Berendzen, 62, of Collinsville, Ill., and formerly of Center, died at 12:50 p.m. Friday, Feb. 8, 2002, at the Collinsville Care Center.
Funeral services will be at 12 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12 at Grand View Funeral Hom e in Hannibal.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 11 at the funeral home.

Roy J. Vincent
Grand Junction, Colo.
Sept. 4, 1943 - Jan. 10, 2002
MONROE CITY - Roy J. Vincent, 59, of Grand Junction, Colo., and formerly of Monroe City, died Thursday, Jan. 10, 2002, in Grand Junction.
A memorial service was conducted Jan. 18 in Meeker, Colo.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. today at St. Jude's Cemetery in Monroe City. The Rev. Bruce Bauman will officiate. Garner Funeral Home in Monroe City is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Vincent was born Sept. 4, 1943, in Pueblo, Colo., to William C. and Irene Winey Vincent.
Survivors include one son, Charles W. Vincent of Fruita, Colo.; two granddaughters, Ashley Jade and Mariah, both of Fruita; one sister, Ruth Young of Monroe City; and his father and mother-in-law, Charles and Murial Deveraux of Meeker, who cared for him as their own.
The family wishes to include as survivors, one daughter-in-law, Tisha Vincent; two brothers-in-law, Neal Young and Jack W. Hunt of Golden, Colo.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, John H. and Caster L. Vincent; and one sister, Wanda L. Hunt.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dwayne Wilson, Alan Schroder and John B. Thompson.

Doris Lee Groshong
Troy
July 20, 1921 - Feb. 10, 2001
WINFIELD -­ Doris Lee Groshong, 79, of Troy and formerly of Winfield, died Thursday, Feb. 8, 2001, at Troy Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Troy.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 10, at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home near Winfield. The Rev. Bill Haffener will officiate. Burial will be at the Winfield Cemetery in Winfield.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Ms. Groshong was born July 20, 1921, in Briscoe to Charles Headly and Vera Bell Weeks Groshong.
Survivors include one brother, Alvin (Pete) Groshong of Troy; and two sisters, Helen Bernice Wilp of Moscow Mills and Alberta Gertrude Momphard of Troy.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Charles Elwyn Groshong; and one sister, Edith Hildred Chambers.
Ms. Groshong was employed for a number of years at Angelica Manufacturing. She was a member of the Makin Memorial United Methodist Church.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, in care of the funeral home.

Edna Muehring
New London
July 14, 1913 - Feb. 7, 2000
HANNIBAL ­- Edna Muehring, 86, of New London, died at 10:20 p.m. Feb. 7, 2000, at Willow Care Center in Hannibal.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 11, at the James O'Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal. Bill Dexheimer will officiate. Burial will be at Grand View Burial Park in Hannibal.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 10, at the funeral home.
Mrs. Muehring was born July 14, 1913, in Hannibal to John and Flora Spencer Fuqua.
She was married to Leonard Muehring on Sept. 25, 1937, in Hannibal. He preceded her in death Oct. 19, 1972.
Survivors include one daughter, Marilyn V. Rosenkrans of Paris; one son, John L. Muehring of New London; one sister, Ruby Chatfield of Hannibal; 12 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one grandson; two brothers; and one sister.
Mrs. Muehring formerly worked at the Hannibal Middle School and was a member of the Saverton-Ilasco Methodist Church.
Memorials may be made to the Saverton Community Church.
Pallbearers will be Junior Muehring, Cory Muehring, Bohle Muehring, Ronnie Tapley, Charlie Rosenkrans Jr., Mike Rosenkrans, Keith Rosenkrans and Randy Rosenkrans.

Kaye L. Kroeger Thomas
Canton
Jan. 13, 1943 - Feb. 8, 2000
CANTON ­- Kaye L. Kroeger Thomas, 57, died at 6:15 p.m. Feb. 8, 2000, at Lewis County Nursing Home in Canton of lung cancer.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 11, at Forest Grove Cemetery in Canton. The Revs. Steve Smith and Stacey Nichols will officiate.
Mrs. Thomas was born Jan. 13, 1943 in Davenport, Iowa to Walter and Lila Kroeger.
She was married to Daniel W. Thomas on Aug. 27, 1963, in Madison, Wisc.
Survivors include two daughters, Linda K. Thomas of Latonia, Ky. and Michele Chopps of Crown Point, Ind.; one brother, John William Kroeger of Orlando, Fla.; a grandson, B.J. Chopps of Crown Point; and her former husband, Daniel W. Thomas of Crown Point.
Mrs. Thomas was a fine arts superintendent at the Lake County Fair in Crown Point for two years. She had exhibited extensively in the fair for many years. She was a member of Tri Kappa Sorority for over 30 years and was a member of the Purdue Extension homemakers. In Canton, she was a member of the extension homemakers, Sigma Kappa Sorority at Culver-Stockton College. She was a junior in college, majoring in art at Culver-Stockton College. She attended Immanuel United Methodist Church in Canton. She had worked many years with her former husband in his family business.
She is also survived by A. D. Glover, for whom she was a part-time secretary.
Memorials may be made to the Art Department of Culver-Stockton College in Canton.
