Visitation is from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the Atkinson Chapel, Harrisonville.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 2, at the Atkinson Chapel.
Burial will be in the Orient Cemetery, Harrisonville, under the direction of Atkinson Funeral Home, Harrisonville.

Eva Mae Jones
Aug. 21, 1922 - Jan. 26, 2007
Eva Mae Jones, Drexel, died Jan. 26, 2007.
She was born in New Lancaster, Kan., the daughter of Emory A. and Oma Lelia (Scott) Jones.
Services were Jan. 29 with burial in New Lancaster Cemetery under the direction of the Wilson & Son Funeral Home, Drexel.

Geraldine “Jerry” Faye Linthicum
Aug. 1, 1930 - Jan. 28, 2007
Geraldine “Jerry” Faye Linthicum, 76, Harrisonville, died Sunday, Jan. 28, 2007, at her home in Harrisonville,
She was born Aug. 1, 1930, in Ketchum, Okla., the daughter of George McHaffie and Wilma (Howell) Gahm.
On July 21, 1947, She married Robert “Bob” Paul Linthicum in Carthage.
Mrs. Linthicum was a partner for life with Bob and together they had owned a body shop and a recreation center both in Harrisonville.
She moved to Harrisonville in 1957. She loved to read and go to the races at Adrian Speedway, every Sunday she had to know who won. People knew her as “Grandma.”
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Bob, on May 26, 1998; a son, Roger Linthicum, Dec. 17, 2000; two grandsons, Dennis Paul Linthicum, Jan. 26, 1972, and Curtis Brian Linthicum, Feb. 12, 1994; and two brothers, Richard and J.B. McHaffie.
Surviving are a son, Dennis Linthicum and wife, Nancy, and a daughter, Cathy Mead, and husband, Jerry, all of Harrisonville; a brother, Robert McHaffie, Fairland, Okla.; granddaughters, Rachel Dawson and companion, Adam, Adrian, Paula Carpenter and husband, Nathan, and Carrie Weiken all of Harrisonville; grandsons, CJ Mead, Harrisonville, Jason Linthicum and wife, Kressy, Grain Valley; four great-grandsons; three great-granddaughters; other relatives and many friends.
Graveside services and inurnment were Jan. 31, at the Orient Cemetery in Harrisonville, with the Rev. Charles E. Sutton officiating.
Cremation.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Grace Hospice.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville.

Barbara Ann Powell
Nov. 7, 1917 - Jan. 28, 2007
Barbara Ann (Griffith) Powell, 89, Harrisonville, died unexpectedly Sunday night, Jan. 28, 2007, at Cass Medical Center, Harrisonville.
She was born Nov. 7, 1917, at the home of her maternal grandparents in Manila, Ark., while her father was overseas in France with the U.S. Army Medical Corps during World War I, the daughter of Dr. Edgar M. and Missouri State College in Warrensburg and graduated from the University of N.Y., Buffalo, N.Y., before returning to Harrisonville in 1953.
She was active in the Harri­sonville community and served on the city park board from its creation until 1970 and was in the first class of Red Cross “Gray Ladies” to work at the Cass County Memorial Hospital in Harrisonville. She was an active member of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Harrisonville.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Dixie Crouch, in 1960.
Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Kirk and Jan Powell, Pleasant Hill; two granddaughters, Stacey Soble and her husband, John, Savannah, Ga., and Vicky Calif.; four great-grandchildren, Rachel and Chalie Sobel, Savannah, and Ryan and Matthew Johnson, Delmar, and a nephew and his wife, Les and Judy Crouch, Lake Las Vegas, Nev.
Casket bearers were Bill James, Herb Carter, Nelson Allen, Larry Snider, Ray White and Bob Spangler.
Services were Feb. 1 at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, Harrisonville.
Burial was in Orient Cemetery, Harrisonville, under the direction of the Atkinson Funeral Home, Harrisonville .
Contributions may be made to the church.

Leroy Ernest Riffle
Oct. 14, 1929 - Jan. 28, 2007
Leroy Ernest Riffle, 77, Latour, died Sunday, Jan. 28, 2007, at Research Medical Center, Kansas City
He was born Oct. 14, 1929, near Garden City, the son of Ernest Voliver and Alice Juanita (Edmonds) Riffle.
On, Nov. 5, 1995, he married Bonnie Christine (Akins) Snell in Latour.
Mr. Riffle was a farmer and stockman. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of the Latour Presbyterian Church and Hurley Lee Spicer Post 42 of the American Legion, Harrisonville. He enjoyed his family, his garden and growing flowers, loved life and going on cruises.
Mr. Riffle was a lifelong area resident of Latour.
Preceding him in death were his parents.
Surviving are his wife, Bonnie C. Riffle, of the home; two stepsons, Rick Snell and wife, Pam, and Rodney Snell and wife, Jeannie, all of Latour; a stepdaughter, Robin Lutz and husband, Travis, Kingsville; two sisters, Ruth Ann Corbin, Harrisonville, and Barbara Lovewell, Latour; three step-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
Honorary casket bearers were Dean Corbin, Charlie Cowan, Jason Frock, David Johnson, Arthur Lovewell and Pete Montgomery.
Casket bearers were Robert Armintrout, Bryan Evans, Bryce Evans, Randy Lovewell, Gregory Harris and David Wissinger.
Services were Jan. 31 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Garden City, with the Rev. Bill W. Perkins officiating.
Burial was in the Garden City Cemetery, Garden City, under the direction of the Dickey Funeral Home, Garden City.
Military services were under the auspices of the Harrisonville Honor Guard, Harrisonville.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Latour Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund.

Harry Dale Riggs
Dec. 30, 1920 - Jan. 25, 2007
Harry Dale Riggs, 86, Harrisonville, died Thursday, Jan. 25, 2007, at his home.
He was born Dec. 30, 1920, in Lone Tree, the son of Jack and Grace (Pennington) Riggs.
He was a lifelong resident of Harrisonville.
Jan. 30, 1978, he married Doris Louise Wilson.
Mr. Riggs was a union laborer with Heavy Construction Laborers, Local No. 663, for 50 years before retiring in 1978.
He was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Riggs was a World War II Army veteran.
Preceding him in death were his parents; two brothers, Arlie and Albert Riggs; and three sisters, Doneta Karg, Thelma Bills and Pauline Williams.
Surviving are his wife, Doris, of the home; and a stepdaughter, Sarah Pennington, Opelousas, La.
Honorary casket bearers were children of DeWayne and Julie Karg and children of Angela and Landon Miner.
Casket bearers were Clint Miller, Bill Miner, Landon Miner, DeWayne Karg, Chris Miller and Sarah Pennington.
Services were Jan. 26 at the Atkinson Chapel, Harrisonville, with Chaplain Jack Hayes, officiating.
Burial was in the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, near Harri­sonville, under the direction of Atkinson Funeral Home, Har­risonville.
Memorial contributions may be made to Crossroads Hospice of Kansas City.

Mildred Irene Spainhour

Mildred Irene Spainhour, 88, Lee’s Summit, died Jan. 25, 2007.
She was born Dec. 9, 1918, the daughter of Ira B. and Mary Ellen (Carroll) Cooper.
Services were Jan. 29 at the Lone Jack Baptist Church with burial in the Lone Jack Cemetery under the direction of the Stanley-Dickey Funeral Home, Pleasant Hill.
