Juanita J. Crystal, 1930-2003, Sedalia

Juanita Jo Crystal, 72, of Sedalia, born June 22, 1930, in Ft. Scott, Kan., a daughter of Lloyd A. and Dova Juanita Oharah Walker. On December 5, 1948, in Bourbon County, Kan., she was died February 11, 1999.

Mrs. Crystal was a member of New Hope Baptist Church. She was a graduate of the Uniontown High School in Uniontown, Kan. She attended Kansas City Secretarial College in Kansas City, and was a Missouri delegate to the first White House Conference of the Handicapped in Washington, D.C., in 1976. She was a member of the Pettis County Development Disability Board, the Pettis County Chapter of the Missouri Cattlemen's Association and the National Federation of Business. She loved painting, creative writing, teaching Sunday School, entertaining and genealogy. Mrs. Crystal was co-founder and owner of Jim's Tire Service since 1965.

Survivors include two daughters, Kathy Ulmer and Kelly Sobaski, both of Sedalia; two sons, Kraig Crystal and Kerry Crystal, both of Green Ridge; a brother, Jay Walker of Camdenton; a sister, Kay Hart of Bluffton, S.C.; nine grandchildren; and a great granddaughter.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at New Hope Baptist Church, with the Rev. Marvin Nobles, the Rev. Wayne Isgriggs and the Rev. Bruce Campbell officiating. Burial will be in Crown Hill died Friday, June 13, 2003, at the Rest Haven Convalescent Home.

He was married to Hulda Neimeyer, who preceded him in Cemetery in Bunceton.

Pallbearers will be Jim Stahl, Lane Stahl, George Dowdy, Ricky Stahl, Randy Williams and Jered Williams.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Meisenheimer-Griswold Funeral Home in Tipton.

The family suggests memorial contributions to Syracuse Baptist Church.

Loretta G. Schulenberg, 1919-2003, Warsaw

Loretta G. Schulenberg, 84, of Warsaw, born Feb. 20, 1919, in Montana, a daughter of Chester and Leta Crowl. On Aug. 9, 1953, in Lexington, she was died Oct. 10, 1982.

Mrs. Schulenberg moved to Independence at an early age. After marriage, she worked as a secretary for Butler Manufacturing Co. until 1962. In 1965, the family moved to Warsaw, where she worked as a secretary for the Benton County Division of Family Services until her retirement in the early 1980s. She was a member of the Independence RLDS Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Carolyn Maybrier of Warsaw; a sister, Ethel Dimoush of Independence; 11 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.

Graveside funeral services and burial will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday at Shawnee died Monday, June 9, 2003, at Bothwell Regional Health Center.

She was died Thursday, June 12, 2003, at Bothwell Regional Health Center.

He was married to Phyllis Hirst, who survives.

Mr. Huddleston lived in the Tipton and Otterville area all his life. He served in the Army from 1956 to 1962. He owned the Mobil Station in Tipton for several years and also worked for the Ford Garage in Tipton for a number of years. In 1972, he went to work for United Real Estate in Tipton. He also worked for D & H Realty in Tipton. Mr. Huddleston operated heavy equipment for Hill Construction of Syracuse in 1980, followed by Howard Construction and Kass Construction in 1986. In 1992, he was hired by Menefee Construction Company until retiring in 1996.

Also surviving are a son, Dale Huddleston Jr. of Sedalia; three daughters, Glenda Fern Hultz of South Carolina, Annette Meyer of Otterville and Laura McDonald of Syracuse; four brothers, Paul Huddleston of Smithton, Gerald Huddleston of Dresden, Dwight Huddleston of Sedalia and Leonard Huddleston of La Monte; six sisters, Erma Holloway of Sedalia, Virginia Musick of California state, Sharon Boggs of Otterville, Linda Curry of Otterville, Patsy Withrow of Savannah, Ark., and Barbara Roofe of Brooklyn, Ark.; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his parents; a son, Kenneth Huddleston; two brothers, Emmett Huddleston and Bill Huddleston; and his stepmother, Zelma Fern Huddleston.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Meisenheimer-Griswold Funeral Home in Tipton, with the Rev. Harold Nicks officiating.

Pallbearers will be Deo Marcum, Ray Huddleston, J. D. Koechner, Roger Steudle, Patrick Meyer, Junior Hirst and Blayne Corum.

Burial will be in Masonic died Thursday, June 12, 2003, at the Harry S. Truman Veterans Memorial Hospital in Columbia.

He was married to Margaret Richey, who survives of the home.

Mr. Walz, a Clifton City High School graduate, was an Army veteran who served 22 years in the infantry. He entered the service in Feb. 1945 and served in Germany, Korea and Vietnam. He received the Combat Infantry Badge with star and a Purple Heart. He was discharged in Feb. 1967 as a Master Sgt. After retiring, he lived in Warrensburg until he moved to La Monte in 1980.

Surviving are two sons, Herman E. Walz of Germany and Randall E. Walz of Salem, Ore.; four stepsons, Denzil Brown of Kansas City, Harvey Brown of Butler, Jerry Brown of Louisville, Ky., and John Brown of Rolla; two brothers; four sisters; 14 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Moore Funeral Home in La Monte, with the Rev. Alan Skinner officiating.

Pallbearers will be Glen Taylor, Denzil Brown, Harvey Brown, Jerry Brown and John Brown. Honorary pallbearers will be David Brown, Denny Brown, John Derek and Brandon Brown.

Burial will be in La Monte Cemetery. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service Monday at the funeral home.
