Thomas W. Alley, 1927-2002, Sedalia

Thomas Walter "Walt" Alley, 74, of Sedalia, born Aug. 17, 1927, in Coen, Iowa, a son of William H. and Nina V. Dykes Alley. On Aug. 31, 1946, in Rhode Island, he was died earlier. On Dec. 31, 1961, in Sedalia, he was died Jan. 26, 1998. On Dec. 15, 2001, in Eureka Springs, Ark., he was death by an infant sister.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at McLaughlin Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Bill Siebert officiating. Pallbearers will be Jerry Baker, Johnny Baker, Keith Ollison, Mark Taylor, Roy Webb and Bob Ramey. Honorary pallbearers will be Rex Real, Bill Shumake, David Malmo, Charles Woody, Gill Campbell, Mike Webb, Sam Tuck, Donnie Ditzfeld, Ray Vogel and Steve Ritzo. Burial will be in Memorial Park died Thursday, Aug. 1, 2002, at North Kansas City Hospital.

She was married to Warner Vogt, who death by a sister, Marionette St. Martin.

Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Sweet Springs Presbyterian Church with the Rev. William W. Harlow officiating. Burial will be in Fairview died Saturday, April 6, 2002, at the Rest Haven Convalescent Home.

She was married to John Killion, who survives of the home.

Mrs. Killion attended the Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church and was a member of the the First United Methodist Church in Salina. She had lived in Sedalia since 1944 and, in her younger years, loved to work with flowers and in her garden.

Also surviving are a son, Bill Killion of Sweet Springs; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in Cemetery, with the Rev. Jim Downing Jr. officiating.

Pallbearers will be Richard Kasak, Marvin Harrelson, Bill Staley, Floyd Kerns, Bob Payne and Bill Killion.

Friends may call after noon Monday at Heckart/Gillespie Colonial Chapel. There will be no family visitation.

The family suggests memorial contributions to a charity of the donor's choice.

Lois R. Carr, 1907-2002, La Monte

Lois R. Carr, 94, of rural La Monte, born Dec. 27, 1907, in Brookings, S.D., a daughter of William and Kittie Elliott Carr.

Miss Carr was a school teacher in several rural schools and then in the North Kansas City school system, retiring in 1972 after 47 years of teaching. She was a member of the National Retired Teachers Association, the Missouri State Teachers Association, the Nautilus Club and the La Monte Christian Church. Miss Carr loved to travel and took extended trips overseas.

Surviving are three nephews, two nieces, two great-nephews and three great-nieces. She was preceded in Cemetery, with the Rev. Robert Fry officiating.

Pallbearers will be Owen Russell, Arthur Mahin, John Murray, Raymond Wasson, Robert Askew and Ed Minor.

Friends may call after 2 p.m. Tuesday at Moore Funeral Home in La Monte. There will be no family visitation.

R. Philip Dow

Ralph Philip Dow, 50, of Las Vegas, born August 6, 1954, in Sedalia, son of Ralph W. “Stub” and Lylian Hurley Dow. He was adopted by his aunt, Irel Hurley Adams when both of his parents Cemetery.

There will be no visitation. The body was cremated.

The family suggests memorial contributions to Sacred Heart Building Fund or Smith-Cotton Alumni Association.

Ms. Corinne Edmundson

Paula Corinne Edmundson, 92, of Sedalia, born December 14, 1910, in Pettis County, daughter of Ernest and Anna Choplin Winston. On February 23, 1932, she married to Millard Edmundson. They later divorced.

Ms. Edmundson was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church. At age thirteen she became a member of Blackwater Chapel and was baptized in the lake at Sweet Springs. She was a 1929 graduate of Sweet Springs High School. She worked at Lamy's Manufacturing Company for nineteen and a half years.

Survivors include two sons, Dr. Donald Rathburn of Vicksburg, Mississippi, and Gene Rathburn of Blue Springs, Missouri; a daughter, Maxine Flores of Sedalia; six grandchildren; and twelve great grandchildren.

She was preceded in Cemetery, with the Rev. Jeremy Vickers officiating.

Pallbearers will be Nick Smith, Nathan Smith, Ed Rathburn, Alan Rathburn, Harold Rathburn and Bob Forsyth.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jared Bray, Caleb Bray, Lucas Smith and Zachary Rathburn.

The family will receive friends from 7:30-9:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 5 at the Heckart/Gillespie Funeral Home, where friends may call after noon on Tuesday.

The family suggests memorial contributions to the Blackwater Chapel died Thursday, July 8, 2004, at Senior Haven Nursing Home in Canby.

She was married to Wilbur Ellis, who preceded her in death by two sisters.

Memorial services will be held at 9 a.m. Monday at Heckart/Gillespie Colonial Chapel, with Jim Miller officiating.

Burial will be in Shiloh Cemetery.
