Moose D. Eckhoff, 1946-2006, Houstonia

Moose Dennis Eckhoff, 59, of rural Houstonia, born Sept. 22, 1946, in Sweet Springs, a son of Leonard "Ike" and Gertrude Hackenberger Eckhoff. On Aug. 15, 1974, he was Cemetery in Sweet Springs. Friends may call after 4 p.m. Thursday at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Sweet Springs, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Bothwell Hospice or Ellis Fischel Cancer Center in Columbia.

Emery L. Herrick Sr., 1920-2006, Stilwell, Kan.

Emery L. Herrick Sr., 85, of Stilwell, Kan., born Nov. 4, 1920, in Sedalia. He was Cemetery in Stanley, Kan. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at McGilley & Frye Chapel in Olathe.

Wilbur Taylor, 1952-2005, Sedalia

Wilbur Taylor, 52, of Sedalia, born July 8, 1952, in Boonville, a son of Charles Norman Sr. and Anna Johnson Taylor. On Jan. 22, 1980, in Sedalia, he was Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Alexander-May Funeral Home.

Lillian J. Kraxberger, 1905-2005, Stover

Lillian J. Kraxberger, 100, of Stover, born Oct. 15, 1905, in south Morgan County, in a home overlooking the Osage River, a daughter of Robert and Estella Argenbright Hunte. On Oct. 20, 1926, she died March 17, 1999.

Mrs. Kraxberger attended school in the Stover area and graduated from Cole Camp High School. She helped her husband operate a farm south of Stover. She was a homemaker, a food service manager for Stover school district and a cook for the Stover Lions Club.

She had been a member of the Stover United Methodist Church since 1926. She taught Sunday school, was a lifetime member of the United Methodist Women and served the church in many other capacities.

Surviving are two daughters, Elizabeth Clark, and her husband, Phillip, and Mary Lou Gillilan, and her husband, Charles R., all of Jefferson City; a brother, R. Keith Hunter, of Columbia; a sister, M. Virginia Sager, of Templeton, Calif.; a sister-in-law, Myrl Kraxberger, of Stover; eight grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was also predeceased by two sons, Robert O. and Billy D. Kraxberger; an infant daughter, a brother and a sister.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Stover United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Diane Cutler officiating. Burial will be in the Stover died Saturday, Oct. 22, 2005, at his home.

He was married to Janice Harris, who survives of the home.

He worked for G.T.E. in Bellflower, Calif., as chief executive officer, retiring after 33 years. He moved to Edwards in 1989. He enjoyed spending time on his tractor and being outdoors.

Also surviving are two daughters, Cathy Bettencourt, and her husband, Michael, of Warsaw, and Barbara Sandefur, of Huntington Beach, Calif.; a son, Robert R. Sandefur, of Concordia; and eight grandchildren, Robert Bettencourt, Kenneth M. Roach, Dylan Ballard, Richard Sandefur, Joseph Sandefur, Micheala Bettencourt, Brandi Roach and Brittany Sandefur; and a step grandchild, Nathan Brown.

He was predeceased by his parents; a sister, Jane Campbell; and a nephew, James Campbell.

Graveside services and burial will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Englewood died Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2005, at his home.

He was Cemetery in southeast Saline County.

Visitation will be from 1 to 2:45 p.m. Monday at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Sweet Springs.

The family suggests memorial contributions to the charity of the donor's choice.

Amos S. Franklin, 1953-2005, Lincoln

Amos Samuel Joseph Franklin, 52, of Lincoln, born Aug. 9, 1953, in Sedalia, a son of Joseph Hiram and Ina Mae Loucks Franklin.

Mr. Franklin was raised in Sedalia. In his early 20s, he moved south of Cole Camp, where he enjoyed hunting in the Ozark Hills and fishing in Brushy Creek. He loved taking his nephews on rides on his four-wheeler. He was a member of the Ozark Tabernacle Church in rural Lincoln.

Surviving are five sisters, Deloris Obra, Jody Franklin, Irene Franklin, Edna Averback and Sharon Franklin, all of Sedalia; three brothers, Alvin Franklin, Thomas Franklin and Steve Franklin, all of Sedalia.

He was predeceased by his parents and a brother, John Franklin.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Fox Funeral Home in Cole Camp, with the Rev. Johnny Medlock officiating. Burial will be in Inman Memorial Cemetery, in care of funeral home.
