Betty K. Gregory, 1924-2005, Lee's Summit

Betty Kullman Gregory, 80, of Lee's Summit, born July 14, 1924, in Sedalia, a daughter of Harry and Gladys Thompson Kullman. In 1946, she was died in 1998.

Mrs. Gregory was a 1942 graduate of Smith-Cotton High School and graduated from Central Missouri State University in 1945, with a bachelor's of art in physical education. She taught school in the Boonville and Columbia areas until moving to Overland Park, Kan. in 1965.

Surviving are three daughters, Janet Burnett, and husband, Cecil, of Tonganoxie, Kan., Carol Jacobs, and husband, Scott, and Sarah Seufert, and husband, Paul, all of Lee's Summit; three grandchildren, Sarah Ann Burnett, Gregory Burnett and P.J. Seufert; and two cousins, Martha Blethroade and Ruth Ann Cook, both of Sedalia.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the D.W. Newcomer's Sons Johnson County Chapel in Overland Park, Kan. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the chapel.

The family suggests memorial contributions to the Kansas City Hospice.

Alma Lohman, 1912-2005, Concordia

Alma Lohman, 92, of Concordia, born April 23, 1912, in Concordia, a daughter of Gustav H. and Flora Stuermer Lohman.

Miss Lohman lived in the Ernestville and Concordia areas all of her life and was a member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, where she was Sunday school secretary and a member of the Ladies Aid for many years. She had worked at International Shoe Co. in Higginsville and retired from Unitog, in Concordia.

Surviving are a sister, Mildred Vogelsmeier, of Concordia, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a brother, Omar Lohman, and two sisters, Lorna Schnakenberg and Minerva Koch.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church in Ernestville, with the Rev. James Dahlke officiating. Burial will be in the church died Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2005, at Windsor Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.

She was married to William Taylor Highley, who Cemetery in Windsor. The family will receive friends from noon until service time Saturday at the funeral home.

The family suggests memorial contributions to First Christian Church, in care of the funeral home.

Edythe M. Hyatt, 1909-2005, Columbia

Edythe M. Hyatt, 95, of Columbia, formerly of Sedalia, born June 13, 1909, in Pettis County, a daughter of David W. and Lura Ellen Lane Thomas. On Jan. 10, 1931, in Sedalia, she was died April 21, 1991.

Mrs. Hyatt was a member of Olive Branch Baptist Church, where she had been a Sunday school teacher and active in Women's Missionary Union. She was a former member of Smithton School PTA. She was a secretary and bookkeeper for T&O; Lime and Rock Co. She enjoyed cooking, sewing and gardening.

Surviving are a son, Dr. Robert Hyatt, and his wife, Therese, of Jefferson City; three daughters, JoAnn Blaylock, and her husband, Jack, of Columbia, Sue Osborne, and her husband, Perry, of Panora, Iowa, and Margaret J. McMullin, and her husband, Everett, of Kansas City; two sisters, Betty Morton and Daisy Wasson, both of Sedalia; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter.

She was also predeceased by three brothers, Earl Thomas, Darrell Thomas and Franklin Thomas, in infancy; and four sisters, Virginia Dirck, Audrey Greer, Mary Phillips and Ina Ream.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Heckart/Gillespie Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. W.B. Tichenor officiating. Pallbearers will be Jeff Blaylock, Nick Blaylock, Craig Nichols, Chris Hyatt, James Berry, Tim Cox, Mike Nissly and Jack Hensley. Burial will be in Olive Branch Cemetery Association.

Rev. Frederick C. Weisenborn, 1925-2005, Concordia

The Rev. Frederick Christian Weisenborn, 79, of Concordia, born Oct. 6, 1925, in Wellington, Kan., a son of the Rev. Frederick and Millie Weisenborn. On March 8, 1964, he was Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Friday at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Concordia.

The family suggests memorial contributions to St. Paul's Lutheran High School, St. Paul's Lutheran School and St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Steeple Lighting Fund, in Concordia, or to the Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne, Ind.

William G. Rimel Jr., 1943-2005, Lincoln

William Gerald Rimel Jr., 61, of Lincoln, born Aug. 20, 1943, in Boonville, a son of William Gerald Sr. and Lillian Rimel. On March 20, 1965, in Tipton, he was Cemetery in Tipton.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Benton County Hospice, P.O. Box 935, Warsaw, MO 65355 or to the American Cancer Society Relay for Life.

Ethel M. Berry, 1911-2005, Sun City, Ariz.

Ethel Marie Berry, 93, of Sun City, Ariz., formerly of Sedalia, born Sept. 21, 1911, in Stonington, Ill., a daughter of Douglas and Minnie Carter Middleton. In 1930, in Warrensburg, she was died earlier.

Mrs. Berry was a machine operator for Zephyr Manufacturing. She was owner and operator of a ceramic shop on East Harvey, where she taught ceramic classes and entertained clients. She was a member of Lakeview Methodist Church. She was a state representative for the AARP. She enjoyed playing cards at the Sedalia Senior Center on a daily basis, and attended most of their dances. She was also a member of their band.

Surviving are a son, Thomas L. Berry, of Sun City; a daughter, Mary L. Nold, of Lee's Summit; two brothers, Ray Middleton, of Iowa, and Don Middleton, of Sedalia; 13 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

She was also predeceased by a son, Carl C. Berry.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at McLaughlin Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Bruce Campbell officiating. Pallbearers will be Adam Defoe, Kyle Chapman, Jacob Swearingen, Shane Bernard, Kevin Defoe and Kaylon Chapman. Burial will be in Highland Sacred Gardens. Friends may call after 10 a.m. Sunday at the funeral chapel, where the family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until service time.

The family suggests memorial contributions to the Sedalia Senior Center or New Hope Baptist Church, in care of the funeral chapel.
