James Thomas Riddle
James Thomas Riddle, taken from us Sept. 27, 2007; born Jan. 25, 1939, to George Riddle and Elsie Sparks Riddle in Piedmont, Mo.
A loving husband and father of six children and 14 grandchildren.
Married to Edna L. Pitcher July 2, 1962, at Paragould, Ark.
He leaves a wife and children who love him dearly and will miss him more.
I will miss my Dad.

Jack William Kirk
Jack William Kirk, 87, Richmond, Calif., passed away Aug. 29, 2007. He was born Nov. 5, 1920, in Cushing, Okla.
Jack’s early years were spent in West Plains, Mo., a town he always called home.
He met and married Beula Crabtree, and in 1944, they moved to Richmond where Jack worked in the shipyards for Kaiser Steel.
In the 1950s, he began his career with the U.S. Postal Service as a mail carrier, then a window clerk, ending as supervisor.
Jack’s favorite hobbies were fishing, billiards and tinkering with cars.
He will be remembered for his caring personality and good sense of humor.
He loved his family, embraced life and was clearly loved by all.
Jack leaves a legacy of love to Beula, his wife of 63 years; his daughters and husbands, Mary Ann Wagerman and Dean, Jackie Morrison and Doug; his grandchildren, Kirk Wagerman and wife, Lori, Jamie Bueman and husband, Eric, Scott and Natalie Morrison; and great-grandchildren, Hunter, Lucas, Mason and Matthew Jack.
A memorial was held Sept. 15, 2007, in California.
Relatives in attendance were John Kirk Jr., Coral Springs, Fla., Becky (Kirk) Lott and David Kirk, West Plains, Steve Kirk, Rogersville, Mo., and James Shaw, Gainesville, Mo.
He will be remembered by many friends and relatives in this area.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Alma (Langston) Kirk; an infant son; and a special double cousin, John Travis Kirk Sr.
Memorial gifts in honor of Jack can be given to Northern California Alzheimer’s Association, 1060 LaAvenida, Mtn. View, CA 94043.

Jack Andrews
Graveside services for Jack Andrews, 77, Koshkonong, Mo., will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 30, 2007, at Cave Springs Cemetery, Oregon County, Mo., with the Reverend Dion Prewett officiating under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, West Plains.
He was born the son of the late Amos Andrews and Rose Ellen Stockstill Andrews on July 9, 1930, in Alton, Mo., and died Sept. 27, 2007, in Springfield, Mo.
He is survived by three children, Jackie Wade, husband, Ricke, West Plains, Glen Andrews, wife, Jo, Kansas City, Mo., and Keith Andrews, wife, Shirley, Kansas City, Mo.; four stepchildren, Mike Ruff, wife, Arlene, Kansas City, Mo., Connie Shelton, West Plains, Steve Ruff, West Plains, and Susie Thompson, husband, Dennis, Batesville, Ark.; one brother, Glen Andrews, St. Louis, Mo.; six grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren, and two step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Amos Andrews and Rose Ellen Stockstill Andrews; and two brothers, Gene Andrews and Laverne Andrews.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Mynde Tarter Scholarship Fund.
Burial will be in Cave Springs Cemetery under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc., West Plains.
Military rites will be performed by the Missouri Military Funeral Honors and the West Plains Honor Guard.

Mrs. Louise Forrester
Mrs. Louise Forrester of West Plains passed away Tuesday, Sept. 25, while at Ozarks Medical Center after a lengthy illness.
Born on April 4, 1912, in Willow Springs to John and Nancy Fair, she was 95 years old.
Mrs. Forrester grew up in Willow Springs where she graduated from high school.
She was very athletic and was one of the basketball “stars” at Willow Springs High School.
She later married Walter C. Forrester and the couple had three children.
They lived in Louisiana, Kansas City, and Gainesville, Mo., before moving to West Plains upon Mr. Forrester’s retirement.
She was described by her family as a hard working Depression-era woman who always kept her wit.
She had many enjoyments in her life such as gardening, quilting and knitting.
She will be missed by her family and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter C. Forrest, in 1989.
She is survived by her children, Tim Forrester and wife, Martha, Titusville, Fla., Mary Finklea and husband, Lloyd, West Plains, and Clifford Forrester and wife, Carole, Omaha, Neb. She is further survived by five grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Her brother, Tunney Fair, Pioneer, Calif., and her sister, Mary Ann Alexander, Mesa, Ariz., also survive.
Friends are invited to attend a graveside funeral service 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 1, 2007, at Willow Springs City Cemetery on DD Highway in Willow Springs. Arrangements are under the direction of Willow Funeral Home in Willow Springs.

Ruby L. Skaggs
Funeral services for Ruby L. Skaggs, 75, West Plains, Mo., will be 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 5, 2007, at Carter Funeral Home Chapel, West Plains, with Evangelist Allen Moss officiating under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, West Plains.
She was born the daughter of the late John Barnett and Addie Kelly Barnett on Oct. 9, 1931, in Moko, Ark., and died Oct. 2, 2007, in Salem, Ark.
She was united in marriage Nov. 28, 1950, in Mtn. Home, Ark., to Clifford Skaggs.
She is survived by her husband, Clifford Skaggs, of the home, West Plains, Mo.; two daughters, Jerris Armstrong, husband, Rob, West Plains, and Karen Hunt, husband, Randy, West Plains; six grandchildren, Matthew Kirk, wife, Cheri, Ozark, Mo., Adam Kirk, wife, Bobbi, Bruner, Mo., Kelli Kirk, Battlefield, Mo., Brice Hunt, West Plains, Amy Armstrong, West Plains, and Ethan Hunt, West Plains; six great-grandchildren, Jonathan, Kaitlyn, Kenny, Dylan, Dakota and Tyler; two brothers, Aulcie Barnett, wife, Bernice, West Plains, and Dewey Barnett, West Plains; and one sister, Betty Morris, husband, Orville, St. Louis area.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Ricky Wayne Skaggs; three brothers, Otto Barnett, Robert Barnett and Jewell Barnett; and two sisters, Tressia Haslett and Otilla Skaggs.
She was a member of the church of Christ, worshiping at Moody, Mo.
Memorial contributions may be made to State Line Cemetery, and can be left at the funeral home.
Family visitation will be 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 4, 2007, at Carter Funeral Home Chapel, West Plains.
Burial will be in State Line Cemetery, Fulton County, Ark., under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc., West Plains.

Ethel Ann Baymiller
Graveside services for Ethel Ann Baymiller, 102, Bridgman, Mich., formerly of West Plains, will be 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, 2007, at Oak Lawn Cemetery under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
Mrs. Baymiller died 10:40 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2007, in Woodlawn Terrace, Bridgman, Mich.
Ethel was born April 11, 1905, to the late Edgar L. Swecker and Sarah Raby Swecker in Texas County, Mo.
She graduated from high school in Mtn. Grove, Mo., and attended business college in Lawrence, Kan.
On Dec. 24, 1927, she was united in marriage to Oliver S. “Pat” Baymiller in Norwood, Mo.
Ethel taught at Oak Ridge School and later moved with her husband to West Plains, Mo., where they operated an automobile repair business and later owned an automobile dealership.
After retirement, she and her husband raised cattle, and she was involved in flower gardening.
She was a member of West Plains Church of God.
She volunteered as a Girl Scout leader and was a member of Business and Professional Women’s organization.
In addition to her parents, Ethel was preceded in death by her husband, Pat, in 1993; three brothers, Raymond, Howard and Ralph; five sisters, Mayme, Myrtle, Neva, Mae and Opal; and an infant grandson, Vincent Joseph Stein.
She is survived by her daughter, Patty Lois Stein and husband, Charles; one grandson, Charles M. Stein and wife, Clara; three great-grandsons, Joe, Mike and John; one great-granddaughter, Ingrid; and many nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.

Peggy Jane Hammen
Graveside services for Peggy Jane Hammen, 74, West Plains, Mo., will be 3 p.m. Friday, Oct. 5, 2007, at Howell Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
Mrs. Hammen died 1:14 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2007, in NHC HealthCare.
She was born Feb. 11, 1933, in Mammoth Spring, Ark., to Roy and Ruby Myrtle Kellett Thomas.
On Jan. 6, 1965, she was married at West Plains to Eugene (Gene) Edward Hammen, who preceded her in death June 20, 2007.
She had worked at International Shoe Company and loved to play bingo.
She is survived by two children, Dennis Hammen, wife, Trish, and Joetta Creason, fiance, D’Arcy Forbes, all of West Plains; seven grandchildren, Kevin Antrim, Trista Creason, Trent Creason, Josi Creason, Kristie Bales, Travis Bales and Briana Hammen; one great-grandchild, Zoe Antrim; and one brother, David Thomas, Pecos, Texas.
Her parents and husband preceded her in death.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family and left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.

Ivy Denise Jackson
Graveside services for Ivy Denise Jackson, 3 months, 20 days, Saint Ansgar, Iowa, will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2007, at Free Union Cemetery under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
Ivy was born June 8, 2007, in Springfield, Mo., to Shaun and Regina Adrianne Hall Jackson, and was in the hospital from her birth until Sept. 20.
She died Sept. 28, 2007, at Mitchell County Regional Health Center, Osage, Iowa.
She is survived by her parents, Shaun and Regina Jackson, of the family home; grandparents, Michael and Judy Jackson, West Plains, Garry Hall, Saint Ansgar, Iowa, and Vivian Hall, Moody, Mo.; great-grandparents, Dale and Willamae Hall, West Plains, Jerry and Etta Collins, West Plains, Virgil Jackson, West Plains, Donna and Kenny Hobbs, McCloud, Kan., Doris Langford, Elk Creek, Mo., and Frank and Ethel Plachy, Moody, Mo.; and great-great-grandmother, Hazel Hall, Moody, Mo.
