Dorothy Russell Martin
Funeral services for Dorothy Russell Martin, 90, Dora, Mo., will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2007, at Ball Church of Christ, Dora, under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
Mrs. Martin died 8 a.m. Friday, Nov. 23, 2007, at Research Memorial Hospital, Kansas City, Mo. She was born Feb. 10, 1917, in Luna, Mo., to Else and Eve Strong Howard.
In 1932, she was married in Ozark County, Mo., to Clifford Russell, who preceded her in death in 1953.
Mrs. Martin was an avid gardener, enjoyed quilting and cooking, and loved her family. She was a member of Ball Church of Christ.
She is survived by two children, Eldon Russell, wife, Judy, Dora, and Betty Smith and husband, Henry J. Raymore, Mo.; two grandchildren, Brenda Frealy, husband, Glenn, Springfield, Mo., and Sheila Smith, Grand Prairie, Texas; two great-grandchildren, Jennifer Frealy and Amanda Frealy; and several nieces and nephews.
Her parents; husband; one grandson, Bruce Smith; and three brothers preceded her in death.
Visitation will be 6 to 7 p.m. today, Monday, at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Burial will be at Ball Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Ball Cemetery and left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.

Charles Arlin Blair
Funeral service for Charles Arlin Blair, 79, West Plains, Mo., were 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 24, 2007, in the Rose Chapel, Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
Mr. Blair died 10:20 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 22, 2007, in West Vue Nursing Center. He was born May 19, 1928, in Tecumseh, Mo., to Homer Charles and Ina Marie Evins Blair.
On July 27, 1954, he was married to Clella Mae Croney, who preceded him in death on Aug. 26, 1980. On Feb. 22, 1981, he was married at West Plains to Dorothy Donna Koon Hatley.
Mr. Blair was a veteran, serving during the Korean Conflict.
He was a mechanic, having been employed at Brad Guffey Motors, Morlan Shell Ford and Ben Hicks Auto, retiring in 1991. Mr. Blair enjoyed woodworking. He was a member of West 160 Church of Christ, West Plains.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Blair, West Plains; 12 children, Connie Gunter, husband, Michael, Dora, Mo., Stan Hatley, wife, Chris, West Plains, Larry Hatley, wife, Bev, Farmington, N.M., Donna Lovato, husband, Joe, Cuba, N.M., Carolyn Anderson, Mt. Pleasant, Texas, Mary Gunn, husband, Richard, Pittsburg, Texas, Kathy Hyem, husband, Dale, Billings, Mont., Robert Hatley, wife, Kathy, West Plains, Janice Casey, husband, Gary, Winnsboro, Texas, Ernie Hatley, wife, AnJeana, West Plains, Jon Hatley, wife, Ronda, West Plains, and Marvin Hatley, wife, Tina, West Plains; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; three brothers, Melvin Blair, wife, Leda, Elk Creek, Mo., Harlie Blair, wife, Veta, West Plains, and Gary Blair, wife, Loretta, Valley Center, Calif.; four sisters, Fern Hall, husband, Everett, Tampa, Fla., Floy Lyon, husband, Larry, Sunfield, Mich., Pearl Weaver, husband, Al, East Prairie, Mo., and Minnie Burkett, husband, Gordon, Vicksburg, Mich.; and many nieces and nephews.
His parents; his first wife; one brother, Roy Blair; and two sisters, Mona Hensley and Earnie Green, preceded him in death.
Burial was in Ledbetter Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Riverways Hospice and left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.

Mary Jewell Barnett
Funeral services for Mary Jewell Barnett, 80, West Plains, Mo., were 11 a.m. today, Monday, Nov. 26, 2007, in the Rose Chapel, Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
Mrs. Barnett died 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 24, 2007, in NHC HeathCare. She was born Aug. 14, 1927, in Willow Springs, Mo., to the late Robert and Millie Bass Johnson.
She was married at Thayer, Mo., to Melvin Barnett, who preceded her in death Aug. 25, 1975. Mrs. Barnett was of the Baptist faith.
She is survived by one brother-in-law, Richard McFarland, West Plains; one sister-in-law, Glendora Johnson, West Plains; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephew s.
Her parents; husband; five brothers, Virgil, Sam, Gene, Raymond and Lee Johnson; and three sisters, Louise Jackson, Maxine Finley and Shirley McFarland, preceded her in death.
Burial was at Union Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital and left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.

Edith Sims
Edith Alene Sims was born the daughter of Samuel Scott Christian and Cleo Pearl Sizemore Christian on Jan. 30, 1935, in Bethel, Okla., and departed this life Oct. 1, 2007, in West Plains, Mo., at the age of 72 years.
She was united in marriage Nov. 8, 1952, at DeQueen, Ark., to Carl Sims.
She is survived by her husband, Carl, of the family home in Koshkonong, Mo.; one daughter, Karen Heistand and husband, Ray, Austin, Texas; two sons, Terry Sims and wife, Denise, Fort Worth, Texas, and Rodney Sims and wife, Jennifer, Thayer, Mo.; four grandchildren, Kimberly Sims, Ashley Painter and husband, Jared, Patrick Sims and Jeremy Todd; three great-grandchildren, Hunter, Matthew and Hayden; one brother, Loyd Christian, Idabell, Okla.; two sisters, Phyllis Tracht, Pickens, Okla., and Sue Ann Adams, Pickens, Okla.; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Leonard Christian and Lavoy Christian.
Besides being a homemaker, she was employed by Marathon Electric for several years. Edith will be remembered for the love she had for her family and her many friends that made her life complete. She was an excellent cook and many will remember her for the delicious biscuits she enjoyed making and sharing.
Mrs. Sims was a member of Koshkonong Free Will Baptist Church.
Funeral services were 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 4, 2007, in Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer, Mo., with Clarence Burton officiating. Burial was in Koshkonong Cemetery with services under direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc., of Thayer.

Marlin VonAllmen
Marlin VonAllmen, Koshkonong, Mo., died 4:20 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 7, 2007, in Cox Medical Center South, Springfield, Mo.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2007, in the Rose Chapel of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
Visitation will be 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in Jolliff Cemetery.

Mary Ann Donaldson
Visitation for Mary Ann Donaldson, 63, Caulfield, Mo., will be 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2007, at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
Mrs. Donaldson died 7:40 p.m. Friday, Oct. 5, 2007, at her home.
She was born April 2, 1944, in Effingham, Ill., to Jesse Headlee and Pearl Flowers Headlee Franklin.
In May 1960, she was married to Alfred Donaldson.
She enjoyed animals, and was a kennel operator and loved raising dogs.
She is survived by four children, Tracy Donaldson, wife, Gina, Caulfield, Mo., Teresa Gulczynski, husband, Joe, Troy, Mo., Dwayne Donaldson, wife, Donna, Effingham, Ill., and Angelique LaBrien, husband, Scott, Troy, Mo.; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; her mother, Pearl Franklin; one brother, Terry Headlee; and one sister, Janet Cook.
Her father, one brother and one sister preceded her in death.
Memorial contributions may be made to the local Animal Shelter and left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.

Troy Newell Naugle
Graveside services for Troy Newell Naugle, 87, West Plains, Mo., will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 11, 2007, at Smith Chapel Cemetery north of Gainesville, Mo., under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
Mr. Naugle died 1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2007, in West Vue Nursing Center.
He was born Sept. 19, 1920, in Brixey, Mo., to Everett and Lottie Smith Naugle.
He was baptized into Christ at an early age.
During the 1930s, Mr. Naugle served in the Civilian Conservation Corps in southwest Missouri.
During World War II, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and received three Bronze Stars for his service during the Italian Campaign.
His principal work career was in manufacturing with Caterpillar Company in Peoria, Ill.
His work of 30 years and four months with Caterpillar extended from October 1951 to February 1982.
Mr. Naugle made his home in the West Plains community during his retirement years and was particularly close to his sister and brother-in-law, Sue and Neil Cole, and their family who reside in the area.
This family also saw to his needs during his declining years.
He was close to his immediate family and he had his own special nickname for each of them.
Troy was an exemplary musician specializing in steel guitars; he enjoyed making tape recordings of his music for family members and friends.
He very much liked to help people who were in need of a hand up.
He is survived by one brother and four sisters, Johnnie Naugle, Washington, Ill., Ima Jean Robinson, Springfield, Mo., Erma Boring, Peoria, Ariz., Maxine McFarland, Skiatook, Okla., and Sue Cole, West Plains.
His parents; and two sisters, Teresa Ingersoll and Opal Powell, preceded him in death.
Memorial contributions may be made to Fair Haven Children’s Home and left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
