Paul V. Faherty
Paul Vincent Faherty of Cambridge, Wis. died Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2000 at his home in Cambridge, Wis. He was 83.
He was born April 16, 1917 in Perryville, the son of the late William W. and Lillian Marie (Bierk) Faherty. He was married Oct. 9, 1948 in Kansas City to Dorothy Mae (Speiser) Faherty, who preceded him in death Feb. 17, 2000.
Survivors include two sons, Rick (Marjorie) Faherty of Merrill, Wis. and John (Catherine) Faherty of Asheville, N.C.; two daughters, Janis (Joseph) Bradish of Wales, Wis. and Linda Faherty (Randy Peine) of Cambridge, Wis.; two brothers, William W. Faherty II St. Charles and Leo W. (Ruth) Faherty of Memphis, Tenn.; one sister-in-law, Nylene Linneman of Moberly; one brother-in-law, Maurice (Eleanor) Speiser of Independence; and seven grandchildren, Brendan, Megan, and Corey Faherty; Nicholas Faherty; Tara MacPherson; and Kalli and Brenna Peine.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and one sister, Dorothy (Faherty) Jones.
Mr. Faherty served as a Chief Petty Officer on the USS Iuka in the US Navy; serving for five years from 1940-1945 during WWII. He had worked as a district distribution manager for the Chrysler Corporation, retiring after 30 years of service. In 1991, Paul and Dorothy moved to Cambridge, Wis. where he was a member of the St. Pius X Catholic Church. He enjoyed playing cards, fishing, golfing, and was devoted to his children and grandchildren.
The family prefers memorials to be made to Rainbow Hospice.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 30 at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Cambridge, Wis. with the Rev. Bill Nolan officiating. Interment was at Capital Cremation Services in Stoughton, Wis.
Nitardy Funeral Home provided the arrangements.

Joseph G. Nations
Joseph G. Nations of Perryville, died Wednesday, April 4, 2001 at Perry County Memorial Hospital in Perryville. He was 89.
He was born March 8, 1912 at Silver Lake, the son of the late Joseph A. and Anna B. (Robinson) Nations. He was married Sept. 25, 1937 to Dora M. (Kaiser) Nations, who survives in Perryville.
Other survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Donald F. and Marilyn Nations of Panama City, Fla.; one brother, Francis B. Nations of Perryville; three grandchildren, Darren Haiman, Donna Kristofak, and Kathy Nations; and four great-grandchildren, Jeremy Daniels, Harrison Kristofak, Zachary Kristofak, and Jacob Haiman.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Ruth Hayden and infant sister, Mildred Nations; and one brother, Thomas E. Nations.
Mr. Nations worked at McDonnell Douglas in maintenance. He was a past alderman of Ward III for two terms.
The family prefers memorials to be made to cancer research.
The funeral service was held at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 7 at Young & Sons Chapel in Perryville with the Rev. Kevin Fausz C.M. officiating. Burial was in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Perryville.

Richard A. Farrar
Richard A. Farrar of Imperial, died Sunday, June 17, 2001 at Perry County Memorial Hospital Emergency Room in Perryville. He was 64.
He was born April 8, 1937 in Perry County, the son of the late Valle Marvin and Mary Theresa (Farrar) Farrar. He was married Sept. 26, 1964 to Agnes L. (Hotop) Farrar, who survives in Imperial.
Other survivors include four daughters and three sons-in-law, Cindy Johnson of House Springs; Connie and Terry Gibbar of Imperial; Cathy and J.R. Robbs of Lesterville; and Carrie and Anthony Long of House Springs; two brothers and five sisters, Lloyd Farrar of Perryville; Donnie Farrar of Ames, Missouri and South Dakota; founding member of the Women's Guild for St. Paul's Lutheran High School and Junior College in Concordia; accompanying her pastor-husband, she served various offices for Ladies Aid; taught Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, and Children's Confirmation Classes for over 50 years in a succession of 10 churches in South Dakota and Missouri. In retirement she was a member of Ladies' Aid, LMWL, and Lutheran Fellowship Club at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Perryville.
The family prefers memorials to be made to International LWML, St. Paul's High School and Junior College in Concordia, or Trinity Lutheran Church in Egypt Mills.
The funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 17 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Egypt Mills, with the Rev. Mark Martin officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Sherman Hahn
U. Sherman Hahn of Arnold, formerly of Yount, died Thursday, Dec. 12, 2002 in Arnold. He was 78.
He was born Nov. 7, 1924 in Yount, the son of the late Joseph Franklin and Mattie (Cones) Hahn. He was married Dec. 16, 1944 to Wanda Fay (French) Hahn, who preceded him in death Aug. 30, 1999. He then married Jackie Hahn.
Survivors include two sons, Arthur (Pam) Hahn of Barnhart, and Ron (Karin) Hahn of Arnold; two daughters, Sharon (Ray) Presnell of Arnold, and Ellen (Jeffery) Dunman of Village Ridge; one sister-in-law, Una Hahn of Sedgewickville; and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife; two brothers, Harry Hahn and Denver Hahn; and three sisters, Bula Eucas, Zella Goldsmith, and Mae Heaps.
Mr. Hahn was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army 11th Airborne Division. He was a retired auto mechanic for Lindbergh Cadillac in St. Louis. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Arnold, Machinist Local 777, and VFW Post 4282 in Perryville.
The family prefers memorials be made to Whitewater Christian Cemetery.
The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 15 at Young & Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Perryville, with the Rev. Craig Otto officiating. Burial was in Whitewater Christian Cemetery with military graveside service provided by American Legion Post 133 of Perryville.
