James W. Bean
James William Bean, 58, died June 8, 2005, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Kirkwood, Mo.
He was born Nov. 1, 1946, in Louisville, Ky., son of the late James W. and Edith (Johnson) Bean.
He was united in marriage to Betty Brown April 13, 1968, and she survives, residing in Piedmont.
Mr. Bean was an inspection mechanic by trade and ran a business working on small engines.
He was a member of St. Catherine's Catholic Church, Piedmont.
He was a baseball fanatic and was involved in the organized play of his grandchildren.
He and Betty were involved in Head Start in St. Louis.
He had a great love and rapport with children.
Mr. Bean grew up in Evansville, Ind., and had retired to Piedmont.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Tina (Mike) Walker, Piedmont, JeAnna (James) Robinson, Poplar Bluff; one nephew, raised as a son, Ben (Doni) Wagner, Piedmont; one brother, Joe Bean, Evansville, Ind.; one sister, Stella Brown, Lanchester, Ohio; five grandchildren, Jamie, Ananda, Celina, Katie and Daniel.
A memorial service will be held at St. Catherine's Catholic Church upon the return of Father Matthew Rehrauer.

Bessie E. Montgomery
Bessie Evelyn Montgomery, 85, died June 7, 2005, at Clark's Mountain Nursing Center in Piedmont, Mo.
She was born in November 1919 in Clubb, Mo., daughter of the late James and Amy (Wakefield) Lutes.
She was united in marriage to Winfred Taylor Montgomery June 4, 1938, and he survives, residing in Piedmont.
Mrs. Montgomery was a seamstress for a men's clothing store.
She was a member of the Piedmont Nazarene Church since 1979.
She is survived by three sons, Charles (Joann) Montgomery, Piedmont, Johnny (Donna) Montgomery, St. Louis, Glendal (Nancy) Montgomery, O'Fallon; one daughter, Mary Ann (Frank) Madding, O'Fallon; three sisters, Geneva Barks, Lowndes, Edna "Corky" Freeman, Cahokia, Ill., Freda Lacy, St. Peters; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, Harry Junior Montgomery, five brothers, Arlie, Lua David, Clyde Edward, Clecie and Johnny Lutes, two sisters, Goldie Lutes and Osa Leach.
The funeral was held June 9 at Ruegg Funeral Home, Piedmont, with Rev. Gary Rhodes officiating and Rev. Kenneth Harper reading the obituary.
Music was provided by Alicia Mallody, Genice Montgomery and Sean Montgomery.
Pallbearers were Tim, Terry, Rob, Michael and Stephen Montgomery and Greg Madding.
Burial was in Montgomery Chapel Cemetery, Silva.

May V. Warren
May V. Warren, 94, died June 9, 2005, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Mo.
She was born Jan. 26, 1911, in Williamsville, Mo., daughter of the late Ed and Martha (Jones) Goforth.
She was united in marriage to Raymond A. Warren March 23, 1929, and he preceded her in death Oct. 14, 1963.
Mrs. Warren had been a cook at Williamsville School.
She was a member of Williamsville United Methodist Church and American Association of Retired Persons.
She is survived by three sons, Paul Warren, Greenville, Larry (Jean) Warren, Poplar Bluff, Jerry (Theresa) Warren, Herculaneum; one sister, Arlene Painter, Mehlville; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, Don Warren; one brother, Ervin Gofort; two sisters, Velma Bear and Beaulah Baldwin.
The funeral was held June 13 at Ruegg Funeral Home, Williamsville, with Rev. Kent Wilfong officiating.
Pallbearers were Mike, Donald, Bryan and Jason Warren, Tod Donaldson and Dave Frimml.
Burial was in Holiday Cemetery.

David Wesley Eldridge
David Wesley Eldridge, 69, of Ellington, died July 2, 2005, at his home in Piedmont, Mo.
He was born Aug. 27, 1935, in DeSoto, Mo., son of the late Floyd and Alice (Skaggs) Eldridge.
He was united in marriage to Willie Mae Long Oct. 23, 1954, and she survives, residing in Ellington.
Mr. Eldridge was owner and operator of a towing service in St. Louis.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by, one son, David (Cherie) Eldridge, Fenton; two daughters, Barbara (Ronald) Anicker, St. Louis, Mary Courtway, Herculaneum; two brothers, Bobby (Alta) Eldridge, Les (Mitzy) Eldridge, all of Piedmont; two sisters, Myrtle Eldridge, Piedmont, Wanda Lacy, Des Arc; nine grandchildren, Kelle, Jaime, Chris, Amanda, Justin, Ryan, Ronie, Katie and Sylvia Besse; five great-grandchildren, Austin, Kurstin, Clarissa, Cristian and Dustin.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Floyd James Eldridge Jr.
The funeral was held July 7 at Ruegg Funeral Home, Piedmont, with Rev. John Smith officiating.
Pallbearers were Mike Barton, Ronnie Anicker, Chris Courtway, Justin Courtway, Ryan Eldridge and J.R. Weidenhoffer.
Burial was in Mt. View Cemetery.

May W. Lankford
May W. Lankford, 84, of Piedmont, formerly of Bloomfield, died July 5, 2005, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Mo.
He was born Dec. 1, 1920, outside of Bloomfield, Mo., daughter of the late Sam and Bertha (Weaver) Whitson.
She was united in marriage to Harry "Boog" Lankford in 1940, and he preceded her in death September 1996.
Mrs. Lankford was a homemaker and of the Protestant faith.
Mrs. Lankford lived in the Bloomfield community for over 76 years.
She had lived in Piedmont since 1996.
She is survived by two daughters, Ada May Wheeler, St. Joseph, Carol Lewis, Piedmont; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Melvin Whitson, and one sister, Dorothy Norrell.
Graveside services were held July 7 at Bloomfield Cemetery with Rev. Don Cooper officiating.
Pallbearers were Travis, Mark and Leslie Smith, Paul Wheeler, Todd Ruble, Ken Ruble and John Vanderen.
Arrangements were under the direction of Ruegg Funeral Home, Piedmont.

Opal M. Wright
Opal Marie Wright, 81, died Aug. 18, 2005, in Piedmont, Mo.
She was born March 1, 1924, in Olatha, Colo., daughter of the late Bryan and Dell (Pridy) Sitze.
She was united in marriage to Clyde Wright April 14, 1943, in Aurora, Colo., and he survives, residing in Piedmont.
Mrs. Wright was a former resident of St. Louis, a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church in Piedmont.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by one daughter, Anita (Johnny) Chalk, O'Fallon; one brother, M.G. Sitze, Fredericktown; three grandchildren, Elaine Stiltz, Christopher (Sarah) Wright, Crystal Chalk; four great-grandchildren, Gavin, Hayley and Brittany Stiltz, Kelly Wright.
Preceding her in death was one son, Clyde Dwayne Wright, one grandchild, Amy Jean Wright, and one great-grandchild, Steven Stiltz.
The funeral was held Aug. 20 at Morrison-Worley Funeral Chapel, Piedmont, with Pastor Mark McMullin and Rev. Gene Proffer officiating.
Scott Cheshire provided music.
Pallbearers were Denny Sitze, Paul Rhea, Mike Wies, Chris Wright, Gary Thomas and Paul Giesler.
Burial was in Masonic Cemetery, Piedmont.

Evelyn L. LoVan
Evelyn Louise "Skeet" LoVan, 80, died Aug. 19, 2005, at her home in Piedmont, Mo.
She was born Nov. 12, 1924, in Wichita, Kan., daughter of the late Jack and Ethel (Moore) Stephens.
She married Edward LoVan May 18, 1965, and he survives, residing in Piedmont.
Mrs. LoVan had worked at Town and Country Grocery.
She was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Willilla (Tommy) Evans, Oklahoma City, Okla., Acquanetta (Roger) Davis, Barnett; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.
A private family service was held under the direction of Morrison-Worley Funeral Chapel, Piedmont.
