George Hill

CARTHAGE, Mo. - George W. Hill, 79, 1517 S. Main St., died at 4:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 24, 1997, at the Missouri Rehabilitation Center, Mount Vernon, after several months of ill health.

Mr. Hill was born July 31, 1917, at Mexico, Mo. He moved to Carthage in 1931 from Mexico. He was a retired from the Army and Air Force. He was an Army veteran of World War II and retired in 1972 from the Air Force. He also served in the 203rd Battalion of the Missouri National Guard.

He was a member of College Heights Christian Church, Joplin, Fraternal Lodge No. 14, Knights of Pythias, Carthage, and the Silent Knights Club.

He married Kap Ye Kim on June 6, 1972, at Yuma, Ariz. She survives.

Additional survivors include a stepson, Chol Su Kim, New York City, N.Y.; and two brothers, Willard Hill, Carthage, and Wyatt Hill, Kirkwood.

Arrangements are pending with Knell Mortuary.

Ray Hosp

WEBB CITY, Mo. - Thomas Raymond Hosp, 82, 708 W. 16th St., died at 6:10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 24, 1997, at St. John's Regional Medical Center, Joplin, after a sudden illness.

Mr. Hosp was born June 23, 1914, in Joplin. He was a 1933 graduate of Joplin High School. He had done floor covering for Newman's and Joplin Furniture before retiring in 1979.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Webb City, where he had served as a deacon.

He married Opal Lovesee on June 20, 1937. She survives.

Additional survivors include a son, Roger Hosp, New Orleans, La.; a daughter, Trudie Hickam, Joplin; a brother, Howard Hosp, Overland; two sisters, Lorene Anderson and Leola Mock, both of Joplin; and two grandsons.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Simpson Funeral Home, Webb City. The Rev. Robert Easton, the Rev. Don Laughlin and the Rev. Junior Elam will officiate. Burial will be in Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery, Joplin.

Pallbearers will be Oliver Moss, Gaylon Spencer, Don Stinnett, Harry Greninger, Harvey Cooper and Eldon Higginbotham.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Joe Jackson

NEOSHO, Mo. - Joe W. Jackson, 82, 625 Cherry St., died at 3:27 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 23, 1997, at his home after a sudden illness.

Mr. Jackson was born Dec. 20, 1914, in Neosho and was a lifetime resident. He was a 1933 graduate of Neosho High School. He had worked in maintenance for the Missouri State Highway Department for 26 years. He retired in 1982.

He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and American Legion Post No. 163, both of Neosho. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and was the recipient of a Purple Heart.

Survivors include two sons, Tom Jackson, Anderson, and Ron Jackson, Texas City, Texas; a daughter, Michelle A. Yeager, Joplin; two sisters, Dorothy Hinkle, Joplin, and Helen Brammer, Springfield; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. today at Neosho IOOF Cemetery. The Rev. Barry Williams will officiate.

A flag-folding ceremony will be conducted by American Legion Post No. 163.

The casket will be closed at all times.

Arrangements are under the direction of Clark Funeral Home, Neosho.

George Maze

ALDRICH, Mo. - George E. Maze, 88, Aldrich, died at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 23, 1997, at a nursing home in Greenfield after a short illness.

Mr. Maze was born Jan. 30, 1908, in Dade County. He was a retired carpenter.

He was a member of Hampton Presbyterian Church and Rebekah Lodge No. 265, Exeter, Calif. He was an Army veteran of World War II.

He married Opal May on Oct. 8, 1971, at Miami, Okla. She died Feb. 19, 1986.

Survivors include three brothers, Everett Maze and Claude Maze, both of Exeter, Calif., and Richard Maze, Visalia, Calif.; and a sister, Lyndell Freeze, Aldrich.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Dadeville Funeral Chapel. Clarence Pearce will officiate. Burial will be in Dadeville Masonic Cemetery.

Friends may call today at the funeral chapel.

Contributions may be made to the Dadeville Masonic Cemetery.

Brian Rougeux

GOODMAN, Mo. - Brian Edward Rougeux, 32, Goodman route 1, died at 8 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 23, 1997, at Freeman Neosho Hospital, Neosho, after a sudden illness.

Mr. Rougeux was born April 23, 1964, at Great Lakes, Ill. He moved to Goodman in June 1996 from Illinois.

Survivors include his wife, Darlene Rougeux; a stepdaughter, Tanya Lucy, of the home; his father, Edward J. Rougeux, Mukwonago, Wis.; his mother, Elaine Weaver, Clayton, Ohio; and a sister, Robin L. Rougeux, Chicago, Ill.

Services will be at 6 p.m. today at Ozark Funeral Home, Goodman. The Rev. Thad Carter will officiate.

The body will be cremated after the services.

Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Otis Taylor

NEOSHO, Mo. - Otis Taylor, 78, Neosho, died at 7:45 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 23, 1997, at Freeman Neosho Hospital after a long illness.

Mr. Taylor was born Feb. 14, 1918, at Viola. He moved to Neosho in 1942 from the state of Arkansas. He worked as a cutter for Smith Brothers Manufacturing Co. in Neosho for many years. He also was a farmer.

He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Neosho. He was an Army veteran of World War II.

He married Irene Johnson on June 11, 1941, at Heber Springs, Ark. She survives.

Additional survivors include a daughter, Sharon Twitty, Springfield; a son, Kenneth Taylor, Neosho; two brothers, Fred Taylor, Sun City, Calif., and Faye Taylor, Riverside, Calif.; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Clark Funeral Home, Neosho. The Rev. Jerry Seigel will officiate. Burial will be in Neosho Memorial Park Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be John Boyer, Vic Reardon, Butch Reardon, Gerald Daugherty, Darrell Burkhart and Joey Bogle.

Friends may call after 9 a.m. today and after 1 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Reid Vandorn

CASSVILLE, Mo. - Reid A. Vandorn, 81, Cassville, died at 4:40 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 23, 1997, at St. John's Regional Health Center, Springfield, after a short illness.

Mr. Vandorn was born Dec. 18, 1915, at Des Moines, Iowa. He was an industrial engineer for the Maytag Company at Newton, Iowa, for 25 years. He retired Jan. 31, 1978. He moved from Des Moines to Cassville in September 1978.

He attended Mill Street Church of Christ in Cassville. He was a member of the Blue Lodge at Des Moines and the Republican National Committee. He was an Army veteran of World War II.

He married Dorothy E. Rasmussen on Oct. 26, 1941, at Des Moines. She died Sept. 29, 1993.

Survivors include a daughter, Marilyn Hamacher, Grandview; a brother, Delbert Vandorn, Scottsdale, Ariz.; a sister, Dorothy Luby, Columbus, Ohio; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Maplewood Cemetery, Exeter. Wayne Deffenbaugh, minister, will officiate.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Williamson Funeral Home, Cassville.
