Alda Elizabeth Fisher
Marble Hill, MO
Alda Elizabeth Fisher, age 90, of Marble Hill, MO and formerly of Overland, MO, died Saturday, May 1, 2004 at Elder Care of Marble Hill.
She was born July 13, 1913 in Lutesville, MO, daughter of William Joseph and Melola Eaker Myers.
She and Dolphie Lee Fisher were married on February 7, 1934 at the home of Rev. William O. Liley in Lutesville, MO, and he preceded her in death January 9, 1992.
Mrs. Fisher was a home maker, a member of the Vinita Park General Baptist Church since 1957, where she was a Sunday School Teacher, Choir member, and very active in the WMS, and a member of the Ritenour Garden Club where she and her husband won several awards for her roses.
Survivors include: one son Joseph Fisher of Florissant, MO, five daughters; Catherine Henson and Rachel Winchester both of Marble Hill, Janice Cloninger of Zalma, Louise Boyd, of Cape Girardeau, Wilma Jean Johns of St. Louis, two sisters Agnes Corbin of Advance, Rachel Shell, of Marble Hill, nineteen grandchildren, thirty one great grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were one son, D. L. Fisher, Jr., three brothers; an infant, Johnie and Rev. Orville Myers, one sister Norma Crites, one grandson, and three great grandsons.
Visitation will be Monday, May 3, 2004 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill.
Funeral service will be Tuesday at 11:00 AM at the Funeral Home Chapel with Revs. Roy Stanfill and John Buttry officiating, burial will follow in the Dry Creek Cemetery.

Violet Owens
Violet L. Owens, 62, of Mt. Vernon, died at 5:45 a.m. January 29 at Lawrence County Manor.
Mrs. Owens was a homemaker.
Services were 11 a.m. today, February 2, at Fossett-Mosher Chapel in Mt. Vernon.
Burial was in Summit Cemetery under the direction of Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home of Mt. Vernon.

Genevieve Carter
Genevieve Carter, 79, of Aurora, died January 30 at Lacoba Nursing Home in Monett.
Mrs. Carter was born March 29, 1924, in Mt. Vernon, the daughter of Livvie and Ina Mae Owens Parson.
She retired from MWM Dexter after 33 years of service and was a member of the Baptist Temple in Aurora.
She married Ray J. Carter on April 3, 1942, in Mt. Vernon, and he preceded her in death June 23, 2002.
Survivors include one son, Randy, of Monett; one daughter, Raeanna Zang of Jefferson City; one brother, L. W. Parson of Hutchinson, Kansas; seven grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Services were 2 p.m. today, February 2, at the Baptist Temple in Aurora with Rev. Ed Walls officiating.
Burial was in Orange Cemetery north of Aurora under the direction of Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home of Aurora.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Baptist Temple Building Fund.

Jimmy Shockley
Jimmy Shockley, 55, of Neosho, died at 7:37 p.m. January 31 from injuries sustained in a traffic accident.
Mr. Shockley was born June 24, 1948, in Stella, the son of Wilbert Leon and Betty Lombard Shockley.
He was a used car and tire dealer in Wheaton.
His wife, Linda West Shockley, survives.
Additional survivors include one son, Brandon Shockley of Neosho; one brother, David Shockley of Wheaton; and one sister, Shirley Mason of Wheaton.
Services will be 2 p.m. tomorrow, February 3, at Wheaton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Billy Gentry officiating.
Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery in Exeter under the direction of Wheaton Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today, February 2, at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.

James Saunders
Services for James Eugene Saunders, 54, of Monett, who died January 25, were held at 2 p.m. January 29 at Bennett-Wormington Chapel in Monett with Rev. Aaron Weibel officiating.
Music included a tape selection of Only Time and Tears In Heaven, and soloists Vicki Hensley and Jan Moore who sang "His Eye Is On The Sparrow", and "It Is Well With My Soul".
Pianist was Jo Ann Thomas.
Casketbearers were Jim Freiburger, Mike Freiburger, Tony Kelly, Noll Saunders, Robert Saunders, and John Mason.
Burial was in New Site Cemetery near Monett under the direction of Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home of Monett.

James Shoemaker
Services for James J. Shoemaker, 81, of Monett, who died January 28, were held at 2 p.m. January 31 at Bennett-Wormington Chapel in Monett with Rev. Arnold Ray Evans officiating.
Music was provided by soloists Tim Henson, Janice Henson, Junior Haddock, and Jean Haddock who sang Peace In The Valley, Upper Room, and Help Me Climb That Mountain. Tim Henson and Junior Haddock were guitarists.
Casketbearers were Ralph Davis, Charles Willard, Robert Thomas, Andy Worm, Roger Tackette, Larry Prevo.
Burial was in Calton Cemetery near Monett under the direction of Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home of Monett.

Joyce Braden
Graveside services for Joyce Irene Braden, 98, of Monett, who died January 28, were held at 3 p.m. January 30 at Oakdale Cemetery in Monett with Rev. Jim Copley officiating.
Arrangements were under the direction of Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home of Monett.

Alpha Borah
Alphia Borah, 79, of Senath, died Thursday, Feb. 15, 2001, at Perry County Nursing Home in Perryville.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 19, in the McDaniel Funeral Service Chapel in Senath.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 20, at the McDaniel Chapel with Rev. Vernon Purser officiating.
Burial will be in the McGrew Cemetery in Senath.

Edith R. Duty
Edith Ruth Duty, 49, of Malden, died Thursday, Feb. 15, 2001, at her residence.
Born Dec. 25, 1951, at Gideon, the daughter of the late Opie and Emmaline Davis Hogan, she was a homemaker and member of the Assembly of God Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Melinda Webber, of Springfield; two sisters, Alma Morgan, of Campbell and Shirley Lewandowski, of Malden; four brothers, Kenneth Hogan, of Willow Springs, James Hogan, of DeSoto, Jerry Wayne Hogan of Granite City, Ill. and Rev. Gerald Hogan of Bowling Green, Ky. and two grandchildren.
Visitation will be from noon until the time of service at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 19, in the Landess Funeral Chapel in Malden with the Rev. John Schlager officiating.
Burial will be in the Stanfield Cemetery at Clarkton.
