Cleta Collier
Cleta Buzzard Collier passed away Saturday, April 3, 2004 at her home in Neosho, Mo. She was born to Arthur and Etta DeWeese Buzzard on May 24, 1921 on a farm near Seneca, Mo. She graduated from Aurora County Grade School and went to Fairland High School where she graduated Valedictorian of her class.
She attended Miami Business College in Miami, OK and went on to work for the War Department in Washington, D.C. for General Omar Bradley for several years. While working there she was voted Miss Oklahoma from among all the secretaries from all the secretaries from OK. She had a wonderful singing voice and sang in various theaters while there.
When she left Washington and returned home, she worked for the FHA office and Rocketdyne in Neosho, Mo. She married Ralph (Pete) Collier, July 18, 1953 and made her home in Neosho for 52 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sisters and 3 brothers, John Doyle, Blaine and Burl Buzzard.
Survivors include by her twin brothers Garnett and wife Wilma and Garrett and wife Carol Buzzard, of Fairland, OK. Also nieces and nephew, Shirley Lane and Sharlene Miser Fairland, OK, Peggy and Mark Buzzard of Afton, OK, Kristi Dietz, Houston, TX, Kara McFarland of Joplin, MO and Jody DeClue of Fairland, OK and a host of special cousins and special friends Larry and Billy Wade.
Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, April 7, 2004 at the Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, Seneca with Rev. Calvin Ackerson officiating. Burial will be in the Fairland Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Larry Wade, Clayton Greninger, Terry Neff, Dale McFarland, Mark Buzzard and Ricky DeClue. Honorary pallbearers will be, Dean Miser, Ronnie Lane, Larry Bilke, J.R. Buzzard, Gene Gilman and George Bilke.
The family will receive friends from 7 PM to 8 PM, Tuesday at the funeral home.

Julius Schultz
Julius H. Schultz, 94, Wyandotte, Oklahoma died at 1:20 AM, Sunday April 4, 2003 at Baptist Regional Health Ceneter in Miami, OK following an illness.
He was born July 19, 1909 at Gravette, AR. He was employed by the former B F Goodrich Plant in Miami and he was a crop and cattle farmer. Julius was a member of Wayside Assembly of God Church.
He is survived by his wife Eva, to whom he had been married for over 70 years; one so, Carl Schultz of the home; one daughter, Bea Schultz, Miami; one grandchild and two great-grandchildren.
Service will be at 2:00 PM Thursday at the Wayside Assembly of God Church with Rev. Roy Scribner officiating. Burial will be in Hickory Grove Cemetery, Grove, OK.
The family will receive friends for 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM Wednesday at the Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, Seneca.

Mary Alice Bennett
Mary Alice Bennett, 82, Seneca, died at 7:55 am, April 5, 2004 at Freeman Neosho Hospital after an illness.
Mary Alice was born November 10, 1921 in Charlestown, West Virginia the daughter of Francis E. and Ida Kate Gunn. She owned and operated the former Town and Country Wear in Seneca for many years. Mary Alice was a member of the Seneca Christian Church.
She married George R. Bennett April 22, 1938 in Seneca and he survives.
Survivors include one son, Richard “Rick” Bennett, Seneca; one daughter, Linda Neal, Sarcoxie; three grandchildren, Patrick Bennett, Seneca, Captain Tyler Green, Colorado Springs, CO, Brian Green, St. Louis, MO; five great-grandchildren, Carson Green, Parker Green, Bennett Green, Alex Green and Daniel Green.
Funeral services under the direction of Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, Seneca will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday at the Seneca Christian Church with Truman Brady officiating. Burial will be in the Seneca Cemetery. Pallbearers will be, Truman Brady, Ken Brady, Kenny Neal, Ronal Bennett, Mark Bennett and Charles Holt.

Jackie "Jack" Rucker
Jackie Gene Rucker, 71, Miami, Ok died at 10:10 PM, Sunday, April 4, 2004 at his home following a long illness.
He was born July 11, 1932 at Fletcher, OK the son of Thomas H. and Madie King Rucker.
He was of the Baptist Faith. In 1954 he joined the Northeastern A & M College Faculty as an English instructor and VIKING yearbook Sponsor. He taught English for 45 years and served as yearbook advisor until 1978. In 1956 he began coaching NEO’s women AUU basketball team and men’s and women’s track teams. He coached women’s basketball from 1965 to 1960 with 88-24 overall record and produced two all American player in Gail Ivey and Dixie Woodall. He coached both track programs from 1956 until 1968 and produced 28 all Junior College Athletic Association Region II which had 12 teams across Oklahoma. He served as regional director until 1972. In 1960 he served three years as director of the teen center “The Mutt Hut” located at the Miami Civic Center. In 1970 he served as chair of the Communications division which included eight academic programs and eight faculty. In 1981 he was selected “Teacher of the Year” by the NEO student body. In 1989 he was named chair of the Communications/Fine Arts division which included 12 academic programs 14 faculty. In 1999 he retired after serving as a member of the Northeastern Oklahoma A&M; College faculty longer than anyone in the 90-year history of the institution. He was a member of PI BETA CAPA and HEACO.
Jack married Delores Ann Conrad May 5, 1970 and she survives. Also surviving are two sons, Stephen Rucker and Thomas Van Rucker, both of Cincinnati, Ohio; two daughters, Jennifer Ann Rucker, Oklahoma City, OK, Jacquline Kay Gosvener, Sapulpa, OK; one brother, Jime Bob Rucker; five grandchildren and one great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by an infant daughter and by a sister.
Graveside service under the direction of Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, Seneca will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, April 9, 2004 at Greenleaf Cemetery, Tahlequah, OK. James M. Ogle, minister will officiate.

Eloisa Shell
Elosia Mae Shell of Wyandotte, passed away Monday, April 5, 2004. She was 89.
Elosia Mae Shell was born August 18, 1914, near Tiff City, MO to Rhoda Fry Chase and Ludwig Bremer Chase. She was the oldest of four Children. The Chase Family moved to Wyandotte, OK in 1923 and operated Chase’s Grocery Store in Wyandotte until 1940.
Elosia graduated from Wyandotte in 1931 and attended N.E.O. Junior College in Miami, OK for one year then Northeastern Teachers College in Tahlequah, OK for three years. She taught school three years in Ogeechee, one year in Commerce, two years in Wyandotte and was a substitute teacher for several years.
She married Willis Houston Shell in 1937. He preceded her in death on May 23, 2003 just one month from their 65th wedding anniversary. Willis and Elosia lived in Wyandotte until 1996 when due to illness they moved to Welch Residential Care in Welch, OK. In 2003 Elosia moved again to be closer to her daughter. Mrs. Shell was a resident of Commerce when she passed.
Elosia was a devoted lifetime member of the Wyandotte United Methodist Church. She was church treasure, teacher and the pianist for more than 40 years. In 1996 she was presented her 50-year pin and certificate from the Fairland Order of Eastern Star # 194.
She is survived by two sons and their wives, Lon Ray and Phyllis Ball Shell and Donald Joe and Shirley Friend Shell; and daughter and her husband, Ann Lorene and Robert Pewitt; a sister Willanna Anderson; seven grandchildren, Brian Shell, Dough Pewitt, Tracy Shell, Jana Shell Efferson, Cindy Shell, Dawn Pewitt and Lon Allan Shell; nine great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, one sister Lorene Chase Garman and a brother Raymond Chase.
The funeral under the direction of Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, Seneca will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, April 8, 2004 at the Wyandotte United Methodist Church with Rev. Don Bates officiating. Burial will be in the Wyandotte Indian Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Larry Garman, Chester Campbell, Ron Mailes, Fred Anderson, Terry McDonald and Richard Wallace. Honorary Pallbearers will be, Elmer Peacock, Earnest Wallace, Tom Derwin and Bob Neil.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM Wednesday at the Wyandotte United Methodist Church in Wyandotte.
Memorials may be made to either the Wyandotte United Methodist Church or the Wyandotte School gymnasium named for Mr. Shell.

Fleta E. "Clay" Hutchison
Fleta E. “Clay” Hutchison, 87, Seneca died at 4:00 PM May 20, 2004 at the Seneca House nursing home after an illness.
Fleta was born in Ottawa County, Oklahoma to Robert and Bessie Clay on March 9, 1917. She married Oliver A. Hutchison on April 12, 1939 and he preceded her in death February 1, 2001. She was also preceded in death by their only child Janice Ann Hutchison Gatewood in January 1986 and brother LeRoy Clay.
She is survived by a Granddaughter, Jennifer Davis and husband David and Great-Granddaughter Jordan Ann of rural Wyandotte, Grandson Ryan Gatewood and wife Tobie and Great Granddaughter Charlcie Ryanne of rual Welch, son-in-law Larry Gatewood and wife Sally of Miami and a sister and her husband Vonna and Paul Gifford of Broken Arrow.
Mr. and Mrs. Hutchison were long time farmer / stockmen in Ottawa, County and members of the Seneca Christian Church.
Funeral services under the direction of Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, Seneca will be held at 10:30 AM, Saturday, May 22, 2004 at the Seneca Christian Church with Dan Wohlenhaus officiating. Burial will be in the Seneca Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Tom Gatewood, Jim Gatewood, Max Roark, Gary Roark, Gerald Graham and Charles Jennings.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Friday at the funeral home.

Ivan Younger
Ivan Younger passed away, 7:42 PM, May 7, 2004 at the Oklahoma Veterans Center, Claremore, Ok.
He was born March 18, 1928, to Bert and Bertha ( Voorhies ) Younger in Maitland, Missouri. He entered the military service on October 30, 1950 serving in the US Army 40th Infantry Division during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged SFC-Tec on September 28, 1952, and returned to his civilian occupation as a furniture upholsterer in Omaha, Nebraska until 1968.
Ivan was a generous, loving and caring husband, father and grandfather. During his walk on this earth, he never met a stranger and often went out of his way to help those in need. He is now at peace – his earthly battle of suffering has come to an end – and now walks daily with his Heavenly Father. He was enormously loved by family and friends and will be greatly missed.
Ivan married Helen Keeling on March 17, 1956, in Glenwood, Iowa and she preceded him in death December 27, 2002.
Ivan and Helen lived in Nebraska and Iowa until moving to Vinita, OK 1968.
Survivors include; one son; Doug and wife Jackie Younger; two daughters; Brenda and husband David Grizzle, Chelsea, OK and Lisa Younger Somis, CA: two grandchildren, Shawna Shaulis and Daniel Grizzle: two brothers, Harold Younger and Howard Hepburn: one sister, Lavonne Cardoza.
11:00 AM, Tuesday, May 11, 2004 at the Seneca Cemetery with Rev. Claud Strong officiating. Graveside military rites will be conducted by VFW Post 163, Neosho.
