Fern Katherine Krueger

Fern Katherine Krueger, a former resident of Kirkwood, died Tuesday, May 3, 2011.
Mrs. Krueger was born Dec. 22, 1920. She was a devoted daughter, spouse, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her life was based on the three pillars of faith, family and friends. Her smile warmed the hearts of all who met her.
Mrs. Krueger was the wife of the late Alfred W. Krueger Sr.; mother and mother-in-law of Barbara (Pierre) Berger, Diane (the late William) Weidle, Emil (Robin) Krueger, Alfred W. Krueger Jr. and Tere Owens; grandmother of Michele (Matthew) Jeans, Samuel (Bonnie) Berger, Matthew (Megan) Weidle, Daniel Weidle and Yuan Wang, Michael Weidle, Claire, Neal and Ben Krueger. She was the great-grandmother of Madeline and Luke Jeans, Joey and Haley Berger; sister and sister-in-law of the late Maxine (the late Robert) Carrier, the late Joan (the late Stan) Armsey, Ralph (the late Liz) Krodinger, Gladys (the late Fred) Drummond, Mabel (the late Bud) Jennings, Donald (Karen) Krodinger, Larry (Sue) Krodinger and Ann (Carl) Oberle.; godmother, aunt, great-aunt, cousin and friend.
Funeral will be held Friday, May 6, 9:30 a.m., from Bopp Chapel, 10610 Manchester Road in Kirkwood, to St. Peter Catholic Church for 10 a.m. Mass. Interment St. John UCC Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pathways to Independence, 2005 S. Hanley Road, Ste. 103, 63105; St. Louis ARC, 1177 N. Warson Road, 63132; Bridges, 3114 Sutton, 63143 or a charity of one's choice.

Ruth E. Nunley (nee Barnes)
Ruth E. Nunley (nee Barnes), a lifelong resident of Kirkwood, died Friday, April 29, 2011.
Mrs. Nunley was a 50-year member of Kirkwood Chapter 358 OES. She was the wife of the late Leonard Nunley; mother of Linda (Carlton) Brown and William (Linda) Nunley; grandmother of Stacy (Steve) Blassingame, Amy (Phil) Nelson and Gina (Dave) Gladden; great-grandmother of Isaac and Dylan Blassingame and Charity and Aly Nelson; sister of Dorothy Micnheimer; sister-in-law, aunt and friend.
Funeral services were held May 2 at Grace Episcopal Church, 514 E. Argonne in Kirkwood. Interment Oak Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Anthony's Hospice or Grace Episcopal Church. Arrangements by Bopp Chapel, Kirkwood. Online guest book at www.boppchapel.com.

Judith Caroline Wilson (nee Bopp)

Age: 63
Judith Caroline Wilson (nee Bopp), 63, of Eureka died Thursday, April 28, 2011.
Ms. Wilson was born Dec. 6, 1947 to Lorraine (nee Theiss) and Robert Louis Victor Bopp. She was the great-granddaughter of Theodore Bopp, the youngest son of Peter Bopp Sr., who helped form St. Paul Lutheran Church in Des Peres. In 1865 the family moved to Kirkwood, where they were among the founders of Concordia Lutheran Church.
Ms. Wilson was preceded in death by her father in 1954, and her stepfather, Charles O. Bopp, in 1974. She was also preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Walter and Cora (nee Bailey) Theiss; and her paternal grandparents, Gustave and Katherine (nee Greber) Bopp.
Ms. Wilson is survived by her mother, Lorraine Votrain, of Union; two sons, Jeffrey Wilson of Eureka and Brian (Amber) Wilson of House Springs; three grandchildren, Emily Wilson, Alexander Wilson and Connor Wilson; one sister, Barbara (Donald) Flamion of St. Clair; one niece, Angela (Chris) Kaemmerer of Washington, Mo.; three nephews, Don (Audrey) Flamion of Lonedell, Robert Flamion of Grubville and Clinton (Tanya) Flamion of Gray Summit; aunts, cousins, other relatives and friends.
A memorial service was held May 1 at Community Covenant Church in Kirkwood. Interment St. Lucas Cemetery in Sunset Hills. Arrangements by Bopp Chapel, Kirkwood.

E.C. Adams of Kirkwood died Thursday, Feb. 24, 2005.
Mr. Adams was the owner of Adams Dairy and Velvet Freeze Ice Cream Company; on the board of Missouri Baptist Hospital for 45 years, St. Louis Exhibitors Horse Show Association, and a member of Kirkwood Baptist Church.
Mr. Adams was the husband of Marjorie E. Adams (nee Hertzog); father of Betty (Bill) Crouch, Carol Reif and Donna (Tom) Lovett; grandfather of Steve Crouch, Ibby (Rob) Woodsmall and Christy (Tony Leong) Kisor-Leong; great-grandfather of Kyle and Tyler Woodsmall.
Funeral services were held Feb. 28, at Bopp Chapel in Kirkwood. Interment, Forever Bellerive Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Missouri Baptist Children's Home, 11300 St. Charles Rock Road, Bridgeton, Mo. 63044; or Kirkwood Baptist Church, 211 N. Woodlawn Ave., Kirkwood, Mo. 63122.

Yvonne Brothers Allen of St. Louis Hills died Saturday, Oct. 29, 2005.
Mrs. Allen was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Kirkwood. She was the wife of the late Jack Dwight Allen, whose grandfather, Nathan Allen, lived in Webster Groves in the 1800s.
Mrs. Allen was the mother of Michael Dwight Allen and Randall Jackson Allen; mother-in-law of Carol Coble Allen; grandmother of Joshua Nathan Allen, Christian Matthew Allen, Jacob Coble Allen; great-grandmother of Matthew, Michael and Mason; aunt and beloved teacher at the Community School for 30 years.
A memorial service was held Nov. 1, at First Presbyterian Church of Kirkwood. Memorials to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, 200 S. Hanley Road, St. Louis, Mo. 63105; or to First Presbyterian Church of Kirkwood, 100 E. Adams, Kirkwood, Mo. 63122.

Pamela Sue Allison (nee Wetton) of Washington, Mo., formerly of Webster Groves died Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2005.
Mrs. Allison was born May 1, 1954. She attended Edgar Road Elementary School and Hixson Junior High in Webster Groves, and was a 1972 graduate of Webster Groves High School.
Mrs. Allison graduated from Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau in 1976. She went on to get her masters degree, and became the area director of the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education of State Schools for the Severely Handicapped.
Mrs. Allison was the wife of Willis Allison of Washington, Mo.; mother of Anna Mirly and Lara Morgan; daughter of Ruth Wetton and the late James W. Wetton Sr.; sister of James (Sheron McCain) Wetton Jr. of Franklin County, Mo.; stepmother of two; grandmother of Austyn Morgan; sister-in-law of Kit Whittington of Webster Groves; aunt of Ryan (Gretchen) Whittington and James Wetton III of Webster Groves; friend and child of Christ.

Mildred London Alper of Valley Park, formerly of Dover/Rockaway, N.J., and Coconut, Fla., died Friday, July 29, 2005. She was 87.
Mrs. Alper was the mother of Bonny Saraceno of Kirkwood. When she lived in New Jersey, she was an active member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Dover Jewish Center and White Meadow Lake Temple.
As a lifetime member of Hadassah, Mrs. Alper worked on numerous campaigns to raise money for children's hospitals. She also volunteered many hours at Dover General Hospital, working in the gift shop. Her most proud accomplishments were being a wife, mother and grandmother.
Mrs. Alper was the wife of the late Dr. Benjamin Alper; mother of Cheryl (Robert) Banford of Blairstown, N.J., and Bonny (Jim) Saraceno of Kirkwood; devoted "Bubbie" of Doreen Neggia-Maniace, David Banford, Adam Saraceno and Anna Saraceno; and sister of Shirley Reimer and Yetta Greenblatt, both of Florida.
Graveside services were held Tuesday, Aug. 2, at Montefiore Cemetery in Queens, N.Y. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, Ill. 60601-7633 (www.alz.org).

Ruth J. Anderson (nee Yaeger), a longtime resident of Webster Groves died Thursday, May 19, 2005. She was 93.
Mrs. Anderson was born March 26, 1912, in St. Louis, and graduated from University City High School. She lived in Webster Groves for 64 years until moving to Bethesda Dilworth in 2001.
Mrs. Anderson was the first office secretary at Clark Elementary School when it opened in 1949. She stayed there for 28 years until her retirement in 1977.
Mrs. Anderson often had her poems and other musings published in the Webster-Kirkwood Times. After raising a family and retiring from the Webster Groves School District, she began taking various art classes. She had exhibits of her projects at Ralston Purina Company and the Ethical Society.
Her writing career followed much later - after placing second in a writing contest sponsored by the St. Louis Post-Dispatch in 1991. She wrote two books in her 80s. The first was a collection of poems entitled "Life in the Slow Lane, " published in 1996. The second book focused on her growing up years in north St. Louis, and is entitled, "It's Kitzel - It's Me!" It was published in 1999. Both books contain her original artwork.
Mrs. Anderson was married for 60 years to Ted Anderson, who died in 1996 at the age of 92. She is survived by three daughters, Linda Robertson of Maplewood; Gail Anderson of Maryland Heights; and Ellen Kellner of Chepachet, R.I. All three daughters, who attended Lockwood Elementary School, graduated from Webster Groves High School and the University of Missouri-Columbia.
Also surviving are one granddaughter, three grandsons, and two great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of the life of Ruth J. Anderson is set for Sunday, Aug. 21, 1 p.m., at the Ethical Society of St. Louis, 9001 Clayton Road. Mrs. Anderson donated her remains to Washington University Medical School. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Ethical Society of St. Louis, 9001 Clayton Road, St. Louis, Mo. 63117.

M. Cordell Andrews, 63, a Webster Groves native, died on Saturday, June 25, 2005. He was husband of Jean Andrews (nee Still) for 40 years; son of Marge and John Their; father of Michael, Daniel, Emily (John) Vatterott, Beck, and Elizabeth; grandfather of Brian, Jackie, Andrew, Peyton, Madeline, Jessica, Alexander, Brian, Ethan, Kevin, and Kelsey;; brother of Jim Their, Frank Andrews, , and William Andrews.
A memorial service was held on Wednesday, June 29, at Gerber Chapel, 23 W. Lockwood in Webster Groves. Mr. Cordell's body was donated to Washington University. Donations may be made to the Humane Society, 1201 Macklind Ave., St. Louis, Mo. 63110.

Scott Morgan Armstrong, a police officer with the Bridgeton Police Department died Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2005. He was 31.
Officer Armstrong was on duty when his car was struck head-on by a vehicle traveling the wrong way on Highway 370 in Bridgeton. That car was driven by off-duty University City police officer Stephen Bastean, who was also killed in the accident.
Officer Armstrong was an advisor for the Bridgeton Police Department Explorer Post and a United States Naval veteran. He was a former Sunset Hills police officer.
Officer Armstrong was the father of Tyler Armstrong; son of Larry and Karen Armstrong (nee Pestka); brother of April R. (Matt) Barthelmass; grandson of Audrey Pestka, Dolores Buritan and Basil Armstrong; nephew, cousin and friend.
A funeral Mass was celebrated Jan. 14, at St. Peter Catholic Church in Kirkwood. Interment, Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Backstoppers, P.O. Box 66927, St. Louis, Mo. 63166.

Jane Evans, formerly of Webster Groves, died Sunday, Nov. 16, 2003, of bacterial pneumonia in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She was a resident of Paradise Valley, Ariz.
Ms. Evans was a nationally-known business executive and proponent of women's rights. She and her husband, George Sheer, were in Argentina attending a conference of the Young Presidents Organization when she fell ill.
Ms. Evans was born in Hannibal, Mo., and grew up in Webster Groves. She attended Avery School and graduated from Webster Groves High School in 1961. After graduating from Vanderbilt University in 1965, Ms. Evans was hired into the executive training program at Genesco. She quickly ascended the ranks, and was eventually made president of Butterick Fashion Marketing. She then moved on to other prominent positions in retailing and investment banking, including those with General Mills, Monet Jewelry and U.S. West.
"Jane was brilliant and very popular, " said Lee Curtis, a close friend and fellow Webster Groves High School alumnus. "She will be well remembered by many."
Ms. Evans is survived by her husband and her son Jonathan; her mother, Kay Evans Pierce; siblings Judy Thompson and Jim Evans; and nieces and nephews. A celebration of her life will be held in January in Phoenix. Memorials to Homeward Bound, Phoenix, Ariz.
