Dorothy G. Kloppe (nee Albert) of Webster Groves died Tuesday, March 8, 2005.
Mrs. Kloppe was the wife of the late William L. Kloppe; mother of Karen (James) Grutsch and the late Kenneth L. Kloppe; grandmother of Rebecca Grutsch, Aaron (Sheri) Christian and James Kloppe; great-grandmother of Alex Kloppe; sister-in-law, mother-in-law, cousin and friend.
Mrs. Kloppe wanted to thank all her friends and colleagues for their kindness, support and prayers.
Private services were held at Gerber Chapel in Webster Groves. Memorials may be made to the Missouri Conservation Heritage Foundation for the Dorothy Kloppe Memorial, in care of Gerber Chapel, 23 W. Lockwood Ave., Webster Groves, Mo. 63119.

Shirley F. Koetting (nee Shoults) of Webster Groves died Monday, April 4, 2005.
Mrs. Koetting was born Dec. 24, 1935. She was an exceptional wife and mother, who worked very hard for her family and loved them dearly. The family takes comfort in knowing that she is reunited with her husband and daughter in heaven.
Mrs. Koetting was the wife of the late Louis J. Koetting; mother and mother-in-law of Suzanne (Bill) Etling, Christopher (Caroline) Koetting, Ruth (Dave) Helmer and the late Julie Koetting; grandmother of Peter, Elizabeth, Brian, Michael, Brett, Eric, Adam, Anna, Kerry and Tracy; sister of Opal Spathelf, Wayne Shoults and the late Mae Wilhelm; sister-in-law of Rita and Theresa Koetting; aunt, cousin and friend to many.
A funeral Mass was celebrated Thursday, April 7, at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church. Interment, Resurrection Cemetery. Masses are preferred for memorials. Arrangements by Gerber Chapel.

Hazel L. Kohring (nee Roberts) of Kirkwood died Thursday, May 5, 2005. She was 94.
Mrs. Kohring was an insurance broker. She was past president of both St. Louis and Missouri Business and Professional Women, life member of the Million Dollar Round Table, Chartered Life Underwriter, Chartered Financial Consultant and member of the St. Louis Underwriters Hall of Fame. She was a member of Kirkwood United Methodist Church and Kirkwood O.E.S. Chapter #358.
Mrs. Kohring was the wife of the late Walter G. Kohring; mother of William K. (Joan) Halliburton and the late Dorothy L. (the late Charles) Chappell; grandmother of Crystal Treadway, Kim (James) Halliburton-Murphy, Charles Chappell, William (Jen) Chappell, Keri Evans and Richard Chappell; great-grandmother of 12 and great-great-grandmother of one; sister of Joseph Roberts; aunt, great-aunt and friend to many.
A memorial service was held Tuesday, May 10, at Kirkwood United Methodist Church. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, donations are preferred to the Hazel L. Kohring Women in Transition Scholarship Fund, c/o University of Missouri-St. Louis, One University Blvd., St. Louis, Mo. 63121; or to Kirkwood United Methodist Church, 201 W. Margaret A. Kotovsky (nee Smith) of Webster Groves died Thursday, Sept. 22, 2005.
Mrs. Kotovsky was born Feb. 2, 1925, in Mt. Vernon, N.Y. She was the daughter of the late Robert L. Smith and Ruth E. (Myer) Smith; wife of the late Donald E. Kotovsky; mother of John R. (Elaine) Kotovsky, Mimi (John) Dorhauer and Rich (Pam) Kotovsky; sister of Shirley Gram and Robert Smith; sister-in-law of Carl Gram and Ann Smith; grandmother of Michael, Matthew and Timothy Kotovsky John, Adam and Molly Dorhauer, and Emmett and Brenon Kotovsky; aunt of Gary, Richard and David Gram, Terry Branson, Robert L., Arthur, Charlie and Emily Smith; great-aunt, cousin and friend.
Funeral services were held Sept. 26, at Bethany Lutheran Church. Interment, Forever Oak Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Lutheran Family and Children Services, 8631 Delmar Blvd., St. Louis, Mo. 63124.

Edwin Paul Kraushaar of Rock Hill died Friday, March 25, 2005.
Mr. Kraushaar was a member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church for more than 60 years. He sang in the church choir for 50 years, was president of the church, Sunday school superintendent, and served the Lord in his church in many other ways. He was past president of the Brentwood Kiwanis Club, and sang in the Lutheran Hour. He was an avid fisherman, a member of the Beekeeping Society, the Gem and Mineral Society, a mineral and rock collector and jewelry maker.
Mr. Kraushaar was the husband of Elsa Barbara Kraushaar (nee Brandt) for over 63 years; father and father-in-law of Edwin P. and Carol Kraushaar Jr., John Daniel and Melinda Kraushaar, Barbara and Robert Sobeck Jr. and the late Martin Brandt Kraushaar; grandfather of Victoria and Pete Scuzzo, Edwin P. Kraushaar III, Denise Watson and Vic Reynolds, Amy Catherine Sobeck, Robert Martin Sobeck, Jessica Barbara and Robert Cronk, and Brandt Maxwell Kraushaar; great-grandfather of Ryan, Kevin, Nicholas and Stephanie Binder, Tori Lynn Watson and Joey Scuzzo.
Funeral services were held March 30, at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church. Interment, Laurel Hill Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, 9321 Litzsinger Road, Brentwood, Mo. 63144. Arrangements by Bopp Chapel.

Clifford H. (Cliff) Kreienkamp of Kirkwood died Wednesday, July 27, 2005.
Mr. Kreienkamp was a lifelong resident of Kirkwood and Crestwood. He graduated from Kirkwood High School and attended business school locally. He worked in sales for a wide variety of area businesses, and enjoyed a long and successful tenure with Aid Association for Lutherans.
Following retirement in 1978, Mr. Kreienkamp served the community as a volunteer while working part time. He was instrumental in the development, organization, administration and maintenance of KirkCare, a food pantry and resource for low-income families. He also volunteered at a hospital and as an elementary school tutor.
A lifelong faithful member of Concordia Lutheran Church, he held many positions in core committees, and along with his late wife Ruth, was a Stephen minister.
Mr. Kreienkamp gained his chief satisfaction in helping others and was a Christian who lived out his faith by serving. He also enjoyed travel, swimming, golf (which he began at age 70), fishing, and the St. Louis Cardinals. He met his wife, a nurse at Lutheran Hospital, at a church camp in 1936. They married in 1941.
Mr. Kreienkamp was the husband of the late Ruth Elizabeth Kreienkamp (nee Hermerding); father of Karen Benuska and Carl (Kelli) Kreienkamp; grandfather of Matthew (Mee Hong) Benuska, Rachel (Jace) Seals, Sarah Benuska, Louis, Andrew and Brigit Kreienkamp; great-grandfather of Gabrielle and Nicholas Benuska, and Taylor and Kyah Seals; brother of Ken and brother-in-law of Eunice and Vernille; brother-in-law of Luella and husband F.A. Mike Delaney; uncle, cousin and friend to many. His brother Lester and his parents preceded him in death.
The family is grateful for the thoughtful care given to Mr. Kreienkamp by the staff and physicians of St. Anthony's Hospital, St. Anthony's Hospice, Bethesda-Dilworth, and the staff at Bethesda Gardens.
A memorial service will be held Monday, Aug. 8, 11 a.m., at Concordia Lutheran Church, 505 S. Kirkwood Road in Kirkwood. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Interment private.

Rose M. Kring (nee Betteken), a former Des Peres resident died Sunday, May 1, 2005, at Conway House, a residential care home in Creve Coeur. She was 92.
Mrs. Kring was an early member of the Missouri Rockets Troupe that danced its way from the Garden Theater in St. Louis to the stage of New York City's Radio City Music Hall as the Rockettes.
After a short-lived dancing career in New York City, Mrs. Kring returned to St. Louis and studied journalism and psychology at Washington University at night. She entered the work force in the early 1950s, managing the office in the fledgling air conditioning and refrigeration business she owned with her husband, Val E. Kring.
At that time they were active coaching CYC girls softball at St. Stephen Protomartyr Parish in south St. Louis, where they won a citywide Juvenile Diabetes championship in 1952.
In the 1960s, Mrs. Kring entered the accounting field as a bookkeeper, ultimately ending her career in 1990 at the age of 78, as comptroller for the Schultz Chemical Co. in St. Louis, makers of Schultz plant food products.
As a resident of the city of Des Peres, she participated in the city's finance committee.
Mrs. Kring is survived by her daughters, Carol A. Crebs and Noel K. Leicht of St. Louis; grandchildren Paul T. Crebs and Susan Holmes of St. Louis, Eric F. Leicht and Holly M. Leicht of New York City, Daniel, Christopher, Mary Kate and Elizabeth Holmes, and Lucas and Alexander Leicht; as well as siblings Joseph Betteken Jr. and Patricia Rosenhoffer of St. Louis.
A funeral Mass was celebrated May 5 at St. Clement Catholic Church in Des Peres. Interment, Resurrection Cemetery. Arrangements by Bopp Chapel, Kirkwood.

Martha Ann Kuntz, a longtime educator with the Special School District, died Friday, Sept. 9, 2005.
Ms. Kuntz began her tenure with the Special School District on Jan. 18, 1978. She was assigned as a special education teacher to the Kirkwood School District in the 1997-98 school year, working half-time at Keysor Elementary and half-time at Westchester Elementary.
In the next school year, 1998-1999, Ms. Kuntz taught half-time at Westchester and half-time at Tillman Elementary. She began teaching full day at Tillman in 1999.
"Marty Kuntz was an exemplary teacher who cared deeply about the success of each child, " said Tillman principal B.R. Rhoads. "Her dedication and commitment to students with special needs inspired us to never give up on students needing extra supports. The Tillman staff will continue to hold her in our hearts and minds as we move forward as a learning community."
Ms. Kuntz was the daughter of the late Lucian and Virginia Kuntz; sister of Bob (Joan) Kuntz, Jean (George Hangs) Kuntz, Pete (Mary) Kuntz, Mary (Ray) Jaeger, Dan (Carolyn) Kuntz and Rich (Jennifer) Kuntz; aunt, great-aunt, cousin, teacher and friend to many.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Sept. 13, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in University City. Interment, Sacred Heart Cemetery.

Dr. Paul Eston Lacy of Zanesville, Ohio, formerly of Webster Groves died Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2005. He was 81.
Dr. Lacy was a pioneer in the research to understand and cure insulin-dependent diabetes. He was born Feb. 7, 1924, in Trinway, Ohio, to the late Benjamin Lemert Lacy and Amy Cass (Cox) Lacy. He was known as Sam Lacy by all who knew him growing up. Upon graduation from Jefferson High School, he entered Ohio State University, where he received his medical degree. He received his doctorate from the Mayo Foundation of the University of Minnesota.
For 23 years, until 1984, he was the Mallinkrodt Professor and Chairman of the Department of Pathology, at Washington University School of Medicine, in St. Louis. He was also pathologist-in-chief at the Barnes and Allied hospitals and St. Louis Children's Hospital. After retiring as department head, he continued to pursue diabetic research at Washington University, as the Robert L. Kroc Professor in Pathology. He continued to serve as Professor Emeritus of Pathology at Washington University.
Dr. Lacy was a leader in promoting research associated with human diseases. His research helped to begin the current era of cell transplantation, giving hope not only to diabetics, but also to those with many serious illnesses.
Too tall to become an astronaut, Dr. Lacy maintained a lifelong interest in space exploration. He became a member of the Scientific Advisory Board of NASA, and a member of the International Space Station Committee. In addition, experiments designed by his laboratory have been performed on previous space missions.
Dr. Lacy is survived by his wife Bonnie (Mattingly) Lacy; his sons, Paul Eston Lacy, Jr. and Steven Talbot Lacy; Bonnie's children, John E. Starner, Sheryl Williams, Rebecca McInerney, and Brenda Lepi; and their grandchildren, Benjamin Judd Murphie Lacy, Emma and Carly Rothfeld, Bryan and Mark McInerney, Casey, Steven and Clay Williams, and Scott and Ryan Lepi, as well as many other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Gerald, Carl and Donald Lacy. For over fifty years, until her death, he was married to Ellen (Talbot) Lacy. He returned to his family in Ohio, and married Agnes Lacy. Sadly, their time was cut short as well. He later married Bonnie.

Mary Jane Landolt (nee Hely) of Kirkwood died Thursday, Sept. 29, 2005.
Mrs. Landolt taught in St. Louis city and parochial schools for 30 years. She was the wife of the late John F. Landolt Sr.; mother of John F. (Abigail) Landolt Jr., William K. (Jeri) Landolt, Thomas S. Landolt, Beth Amsler, Joseph M. (Margaret) Landolt, David P. (Patricia) Landolt, James P. (Katherine) Landolt and Lucy A. Landolt; grandmother of 13; sister of Joseph W. (Mary Alice) Hely and the late J.P. Hely IV and Richard F. Hely; sister-in-law, aunt and friend.
A funeral Mass was celebrated Oct. 3, at St. Clement Church. Interment, Calvary Cemetery. Masses or donations to Catholic Charities for hurricane relief (www.catholiccharitiesusa.org) are appreciated.

Barbara "Barb" Lapping of Kirkwood died Saturday, March 5, 2005.
Ms. Lapping was a bookkeeper for the Junior College District. She was the mother of Tim, Mike and Barb Lapping; sister of Mary Ellen McCarthy, the late John Schatz and the late Elizabeth Bruton; grandmother of T.J., Jill, Jack, Ann, Claire and Tim; great-grandmother, aunt and mother-in-law.
Interment, Sunset Memorial Park. Arrangements by Bopp Chapel.
